You dont need to delete the shader cache anymore...and if you did that, you need to give it quite a bit of time to rebuild the cache from scratch. Depending on how many aircraft and terrains you have, it could take upwards of 10-15 minutes. MOre so if you arent using an SSD.

Just FYI. ED fixed distant LOD tree normal issue with yesterday's update. They fixed it in code. And seems to conflict with this mod. So if you use this mod with yesterday's OB, the tree normals will be flipped and distant trees will have shading backwards.

I will take a closer look at the files of this mod to see exactly which file is causing it but is Kegetys keeping this mod updated?

Download file below and apply it on top of this mod to fix the tree shading issue.

DCS VR Shader mod Tree Fix

I also fixed error made by ED on line 166 of Speedtree5.1.fx. Looks like error in copy and pasting.

float diffFactor = diffFactor = saturate(1.0 - colorDiff / maxDiff);

Am I the only one NOT seeing a benefit from using the shader mod? In fact, I think it makes mine looks worse.

I'm getting a very nice looking 45fps, hi textures and terrain with or without the mod.

Am I doing it wrong?

How are you measuring “improvement”, I typically see between 2 and 3ms improvement in GPU frame times

If you're already getting consistent 45fps without the mod, of course you will not see improvement with the mod. A mod is not gonna push you from 45fps to 90fps.

Plus, you have to configure this mod per readme file.

Mostly from what I see, the in game FPS counter, FPSVR(Steam), and the SteamVR headset GPU graph.

Just not that much difference in the counters (GPU & CPU). What is very noticeable is the jaggy/shimmery look with the mod applied. Shadows, top of the HUD have jagged edges... not to mention sitting on the runway looking toward buildings and parking area (Nellis)

If you have motion vectoring you will either get your frame rate or half of your frame rate; depending on how ylu have your vive configured thats likely 90/45.

as for jaggy/shimmery thats a problem at your end

Do you mean "Motion Smoothing" in Steam VR? I do have that set per application/DCS

no i didn't sorry, all you have to do is either add Taz's files in after the game is moded with the shaders, or if you want a single "file" just add Taz's files to my unzipped files. For reference you can't mod speedrees and get an IC Pass version
