No problem with an older Harrier version. Let's wait and see what happens.

Yeah, the sea harrier would be a perfect fit. However, its not coming any time soon. Hopefully Raz can finish up the current harrier/mirage/mig19 and then get onto the mig23.

New hotness: I7 9700k 4.8ghz, 32gb ddr4, 2080ti, :joystick: TM Warthog. TrackIR, HP Reverb (formermly CV1)

Old-N-busted: i7 4720HQ ~3.5GHZ, +32GB DDR3 + Nvidia GTX980m (4GB VRAM) :joystick: TM Warthog. TrackIR, Rift CV1 (yes really).

Currently working on a mission where I'm also trying to include 2 x MiG-29A's and 2 x M2000's but in a way where objectives have to be accomplished first to earn that. So still working on implementing a scenario that would make sense do so. And this mission I'm working on has a small number of the available aircraft. Hope it'll be ready this week. Next one at the latest.

Good :)

Actually if you limit the harrier to no TPOD, and no guided weps the AV8B isn't too bad IMO, and the original did fly right at the end of the CW. The ARBS/DMT capability existed in the A4M for a long time during the cold war too. I think most player issue with it is the all aspect Aim-9M.

Why is it that everyone on here seems to have no problem complaining about an Aim-9M when the Russian planes are and have been using the R-60M that is literally from the exact same year as the Aim-9M. The R-60M has the exact same performance from a file config perspective as the Aim-9M. Plus they are often carrying more of them the Harrier can even carry. Talk about all aspect, everytime I merge with a 21 on here they are firing multiple R-60M head on with my engine throttled all the way back.

One sided arguments.

A NEW MISSION HAS ARRIVED!!!

Operation: Once Upon a Time in Abu Dhabi

* The mission will go online tomorrow between 2000 and 2100 zulu time.

* Mission lasts for 8 hours, unless you complete the objective!

KXOSMhe.jpg

Situation:

Here in the south of the region the clashes continue and the fight over the major and vital city of Abu Dhabi is inevitable. Both coalitions are trying to capture all 4 airbases at the city to secure the area and dominate the coastline. Mi-8's and UH-1's are assigned for the task of deploying troops to complete the objective.

* To win the day, a coalition has to capture all 4 airbases. After that the mission ends.

NOTES:

- All 4 airbases at the city of Abu Dhabi are neutral at mission's start.

- Each coalition has a secondary airbase where they can activate 2 x MiG-29A's / 2x M-2000C's.

- Read the briefing carefully to learn how and what must be done.

- MiG-29A's and M-2000C's can only fire guns and IR missiles.

- Weapons are limited so pilots are required to be at the top of the game of professionalism!

Red Objective:

MiG's and L-39's:

- Provide CAP south, southwest of the city of Abu Dhabi (watch out for AAA's and SAM units!)

- Assist our Ka-50's in striking the enemy around bullseye. (Optional)

- Provide cover for our helicopters.

* MiG-29A: Waypoint-1 is our main base Al Ain International Airport. Waypoint-2 is bullseye.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ka-50's:

Waypoint-1 is our forward ammo base where you can rearm, refuel and repair if needed. Waypoint-2 is the bullseye around which 4 different airbases (neutral at mission's start) that can be captured. We believe the enemy has a group of tanks spread out across the city, mainly in the southwest parts of it. Our tanks however, are located in the eastern parts of the city (IFF carefully before attacking!).

- Search and destroy enemy ground units anywhere you find them, mainly at the airbases or in the city.

- The enemy's main airbase is not to be attacked! The bullseye area is where you are needed and is top priority!

- Escort Mi-8's on their way in for deplyoing troops to capture the airbases.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mi-8's:

Pilots! You are the backbone of today's tough mission. We need your expertise in swift transportation tasks at a hot front-line more than ever. Capturing all 4 airbases at the city of Abu Dhabi is very vital (the airbases are neutral at mission's start). Do that and we win the day!

- Deploy troops to capture the 4 airbases in Abu Dhabi.

- Set up SAM's and AAA's anywhere you see fit to fortify our defence line.

- Deploy SAM's/AAA's at the captured airbases. (Note that the airbases we capture have only 2 Shilkas upon capturing)

*** Special Operation ***

The MiG-29A's have entered series production just one year ago. We have two ships at our secondary airbase Fujairah Intl (check out image) which are not combat ready yet. However, you can activate the MiG-29A's by doing the following:

- Fly to waypoint-1 (forward ammo base - marked on the F-10 map) and slingload 1 of the 4 availble ammo boxes.

- Deliver the ammo box at Fujairah Intl airbase.

- Note that 2 ammo boxes are needed to fulfill the task!

- Either you fly the mission twice alone or you get someone to accompany you in a second Mi-8.

- REMEMBER! 2 out of 4 ammo boxes are needed. Fly carefully and don't drop the cargo!

- Losing 3 or more ammo boxes wont enable you to activate the MiG-29A's.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Frequencies:

AWACS 21: 124 MHz, channel 0 for MiG-21 and L-39, channel 2 for MiG-19

AWACS 15: 4.95 MHz (tuned by default)

Al Ain International Airbase: 119.850 MHz

Fujairah Intl Airbase: 124.600 MHz

Mi-8's Jardo 1A for intercomms with other Mi-8's only: 035500 KHz

R-828: Channel 9 for Mi-8's and Ka-50's (helicopters co-operations)

Blue Objective:

F-5's, F-86's, AJS-37's, SA342Mistrals, C-101's and M-2000C's:

- Provide CAP east of the city of Abu Dhabi (watch out for AAA's and SAM units!)

- Assist our SA342M's in striking the enemy around bullseye. (Mainly AJS-37's are required for the task - not for the SA342Mistrals)

- Provide cover for our helicopters.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SA342M's:

Waypoint-1 is our forward ammo base where you can rearm, refuel and repair if needed. Waypoint-2 is the bullseye around which 4 different airbases (neutral at mission's start) that can be captured. We believe the enemy has a group of tanks spread out across the city, mainly in the eastern parts of it. - Escort UH-1's on their way in for deplyoing troops to capture the airbases.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

UH-1's:

- Deploy SAM's/AAA's at the captured airbases. (Note that the airbases we capture have only 3 Vulkans upon capturing)

*** Special Operation ***

The M-2000C's have recently entered series production. We have two ships at our secondary airbase on the island of Sir Abu Nuayr (check out image) which are not combat ready yet. However, you can activate the M-2000C's by doing the following:

- Fly to waypoint-1 (forward ammo base - marked on the F-10 map) and slingload 1 of the 4 availble ammo boxes.

- Deliver the ammo box at Sir Abu Nuayr airbase.

- Note that 2 ammo boxes are needed to fulfill the task!

- Either you fly the mission twice alone or you get someone to accompany you in a second UH-1.

- REMEMBER! 2 out of 4 ammo boxes are needed. Fly carefully and don't drop the cargo!

- Losing 3 or more ammo boxes wont enable you to activate the M-2000C's.

Frequencies:

AWACS 21: 251 MHz

Liwa Airbase: 250.850 MHz

Sir Abu Nuayr Airbase: Radio unavailable

Looks great! Do the helos use "real slingloading" or the simulated multiplayer style?

(He asks while nervously re-reading Chapter 13 of the Mi-8 flight manual.)

Loading crates (AAA's/SAM units, etc.) is simulated slingloading! You'll have to hover over a crate for 5 seconds and then a message will confirm that. I've added this to the Mi-8's/UH-1's detailed briefing.

Loading the ammo boxes to activate the MiG-29A's/M-2000C's is actual slingloading, so you better get on that manual and start reading :smilewink:

Outstanding, in the future, will the Mig-29As and Mirages get replaced with F-4s and Mig-23s? Or will they remain?

Haven't thought about it. Still in the fear future. We'll see.

Hi there, great to see the new mission thank you very much for your dedication to this extremely fun server, i need to ask if you are going to maintain the current 2.5.6 version of DCS. Its so broken that im going to revert to the previous one. Would you consider doing that too?? this is the only multiplayer server i ever go into so it will depend on that if i revert or not. Again thank you very much.

Looks like I will have to. Give me 30-60 minutes and I'll let you all know before I launch the new mission. Gotta run some tests.

Server's up and running on the latest open beta update. should be fine actually.

Current mission is the new one: Operation Once Upon a Time in Abu Dhabi

Share your feedback regarding the new mission's concept of involving 2 x Red MiG-29A's and 2 x Blue M-2000C's (both with guns and IR missiles only), please.

S!

It seems the 29A are active from the start with full armament :)

EDIT: with R-27 and R-60

Mirage has no missiles, while the MiG-29 has only R-27ER and ET

- Armament for MiG-29A and M-2000C: Fixed

- Just tested the mission again on the previous open beta version and both the MiG-29A and the M-2000C are not available at mission's start. Must be the open beta's latest update screwing up things then.

Keep me updated with other issues, please

EDIT:

Server's going back to the previous Open Beta version. The latest one is really causing trouble.
