Did anyone else get a tonne of lag flying over the central towns in the Two Towns mission? My game was a slideshow if I even looked at them but it was totally fine elsewhere in the mission and during the previous mission earlier today

I experienced it only when I took a look at the area with Mig-21's radar. If I pointed it elsewhere, everything was fine.

Any chance we could get an airport traffic frequency so that departure and arrival callouts don't mix with combat chat?

Great idea!

Red: 126 MHz for ATC. Channel 5 for MiG-21's (MiG-19's and L-39's don't have a preset for 126 MHz. Will be changed in all missions for these two and adjusted in time).

Blue: 256 MHz for ATC.

In time, I'll add the freq. to the briefing in all missions. Just spread the word. Let others know. Share that in the chat-to-all bar and in time players will start getting used to it.

Server News:

* Operation Search & Destroy is now offline.

* Operation Hold The Line is back online:

- Briefing text and briefing images reworked and optimised.

- Weather and clouds adjusted.

- Triggers fixed.

- Instead of a 10 hours runtime it's now 8.

- Su-25T's removed. Su-25's remain.

- R-60's and RB-24J's removed.

- All weapons are limited as you'd expect.

- Added ATC frequencies: Red ATC - 126 MHz (ch 5 for MiG-21's and MiG-19's and ch 1 for L-39's). Blue ATC - 256 MHz.

- All aircraft are unfortunately unlimited! This is due to severe limitations at the Red main airbase, Jiroft (Persian Gulf map issue). Hopefully this changes in the future.

- The mission will run today around 1600 - 1700 zulu.

------------------------------------------------------------------

Here's the updated briefing in case you've forgotten all about the mission:

Situation:

Each coalition has 3 FARP's at mission's start.
The FARP's can and must be captured.
The coalition holding all 6 FARP's wins the day.
Each FARP has it's own Garrison that needs to be destroyed first before you can deploy units to capture it.
It is vital for both coalitions to hold the line at the FARP's area to cripple the enemy's advance.

NOTE:
If a GCI operator is available, make sure you contact him and provide your assistance to wherever help is needed the most.
Teamwork is the key so make sure you stay on comms with other players even if a GCI operator is not available.

Check out the radio frequencies for comms below.

Red objectives:

MiG's and L-39's:

Each FARP has it's own ARC frequency that you can dial to. Check out the F-10 map, click on the marker at a certain FARP and the frequency is displayed.

- Provide CAP around bullseye.
- Provide escort for friendly strikers.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Su-25's and Ka-50's:

Provide CAS wherever is needed. Get on SRS, freq. 124 MHz, and organise your attacks with other pilots.

Su-25's Waypoints:

WP-1 - Red FARP West
WP-2 - Red FARP Middle
WP-3 - Red FARP East
WP-4 - Blue FARP East
WP-5 - Blue FARP Middle
WP-6 - Blue FARP West
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mi-8's:

* The heroes of every skirmish! *

Deploy ground units at enemy FARP's after we've destroyed all possible threats at that FARP to capture it.
You can also deploy EWR's to provide a better picture.

Mi-8's -> Picking up crates:
Bring up your radio menu, select F10 for CTLD and then whatever type of crates you want to pick up.

*** You can only pick up one crate at a time ***

For picking up a crate, maintain hover over it for 5 seconds while keeping an altitude of at least 7.5 meters and a maximum altitude of 15 meters.

To unpack a crate, make sure you're at least 3 km away from the FARP you started at.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Combined Arms:

The 2 cmdr slots are for players controlling ground units while being on SRS with each other and other players to coordinate their attacks.
You MUST be on SRS as a cmdr operator!
The JTAC slots are mainly for players who want to check out the situation quickly, provide GCI for a group of people or preferably everyone. In addition, you can use the JTAC slot to drive a ground unit. However, the latter requires you being on comms with cmdr operators to avoid confusion and/or causing problems to their attacks.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Frequencies:

EWR / GCI: 124 MHz, channel 0 for MiG-21's and L-39's. Channel 2 for MiG-19's.
EWR-MiG-15 (callsign: 15): 4.95 MHz (tuned in by default)

ATC: 126 MHz, channel 5 for MiG-21's and MiG-19's, channel 1 for L-39's.

ARC frequencies:

Jiroft Airport: 276 kHz

Red FARP West: 772 kHz
Red FARP Middle: 745 kHz
Red FARP East: 711 kHz

Blue FARP West: 494 kHz
Blue FARP Middle: 422 kHz
Blue FARP East: 455 kHz

GCI operators focus mainly on aircraft operating on 124 MHz. MiG-15 pilots will have to stick with their EWR mainly and contact the GCI operator via teamchat and hope he manages to provide BRAA's for them on their frequency.
Working on 2 different frequencies can be stressing for the GCI operator so MiG-15's shouldn't expect him to reply. It's up to the operator.

***********************************************************************************************************************************************

Blue Objectives:

F-5's and F-86's:

- Provide CAP around bullseye.
- Provide escort for friendly strikers.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A-10's, AJS37's and SA342M's:

Provide CAS wherever is needed. Get on SRS, freq. 251 MHz, and organise your attacks with other pilots.

A-10's and AJS37's Waypoints:

WP-1 - Blue FARP West
WP-2 - Blue FARP Middle
WP-3 - Blue FARP East
WP-4 - Red FARP East
WP-5 - Red FARP Middle
WP-6 - Red FARP West
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
UH-1's:

* The heroes of every skirmish! *

Deploy ground units at enemy FARP's after we've destroyed all possible threats at that FARP to capture it.
You can also deploy EWR's to provide a better picture.

UH-1's -> Picking up crates:

For picking up a crate, maintain hover over it for 5 seconds, while keeping an altitude of at least 25 feet and a maximum altitude of 50 feet.

To unpack a crate, make sure you're at least 2 miles away from the FARP you started at.

Server News:

Operation Hold The Line will go online in about 1.5 hours. The only reason is that 25+ players are currently enjoying themselves and completing their objectives and I'd hate to ruin that.

F2 view in Hold the line is enabled.

Also Su25 not spawning.

Thanks for reporting, I'll check it out.

Well, Red won anyway. With the Ka-50 available... Who needs Su-25's? 😉

The Syria mission may be a heavy load on the PC for some people. In my case, I can fly it comfortably with my current PC configuration, but with my previous GPU, the load was too heavy and it did not run satisfactorily, especially near the airfield.

Same here.

Aircraft can contribute in my experience, but it requires a higher server population. In the early runs of the mission it was great... last few I've flown were sheer boredom when the other team was shorthanded, or sheer frustration when we were. I really enjoy the mission and like the map, but if it doesn't populate, it isn't nearly as fun.

Are tacviews available to be downloaded from this server?

Not from the server itself, no. You'll need to fly a mission yourself to get the file.

Ever been any thought of a system in chat where people can vote to start new mission? get 50% of each coalition to say yes and it resets. just asking since some missions once a team has lost it starts to thin out in air combat and ground targets then people start getting off, maybe would keep player counts a bit more consistent 🤷‍♂️

+1

There is no such option. You could start a thread though and ask ED to implement such a thing for the dedicated servers.

Server News:

* Operation Kiryat Shmona (Syria map) is offline.

* Operation Five Points Unleashed is offline.

* Operation The Tunb Identity:

- Instead of 10 x MiG-21 slots it's now 8.

- Instead of 10 x F-5 slots it's now 8.

- This should reduce the aerial threat to helicopters trying to cross the waters on their way to the Tunb islands.

- With that, this mission has the least amount of slots available.

* The briefing in all missions contains the new following frequencies:

- Red ATC: 126 MHz - Channel 5 for MiG-21's and MiG-19's. Channel 1 for L-39's.

- Blue ATC: 256 MHz

- Spread the word, start using those frequencies to announce taxi, take off and landing.

- GCI operators may choose to operate on those additional frequencies but they must not as it might increase the workload for them.

- However, pilots should use them to avoid collisions at the airbases.

Yes - this was disappointing that despite the F10 CTLD menu seaying F3 -> Msta, it actually spawns an Ammo Truck.

What?! That's a new one! Just checked out the script and it's fine. Hope this was a one timer.

Saw a few Hueys today on Open Range resloting after bringing their stuff of even landing 100m from the farp and ditch their chopper there. I feel like a "BRING YOUR AIRFRAME BACK TO BASE, THEY ARE LIMITED AND YOUR TEAM WILL LOSE THEM" popup sign with bright colors, a huge siren sound and possibly fireworks might be in order.
