FAQ's:

1- What does "the MiG-21 and the F-5 are the main modules in all missions" mean?

It means that these two have the most available slots in all missions; 8 slots at the least. In some missions it's even 12 or 14 slots each.

2- Sometimes I choose an aircraft, hit fly and all I get is the spectators view. Why?

All aircraft are limited in numbers in all missions (operation Hold The Line is the only exception due to mission editor issues). If that happens to you then it can only mean your coalition has run out of that type of aircraft.

3- How can I know how many aircraft/weapons are still available at a specific airbase/FARP?

Click on an airbase/a FARP using the F10 map while using the Combined Arms module (whether as a cmdr or JTAC operator), then click on the ">" symbol from the small window showing details about that airbase/FARP, then click on aircraft, weapons, etc.

Note that players used to be able to do that without using the Combined Arms module. It might be a bug as of now.

4- Will the Su-25T be removed one day?

Yes. It will be completely removed once the Su-17 or any other Red striker arrives.

5- Will the Ka-50 be removed one day?

The Ka-50 will be removed from most missions. It's mostly 6 or 8 Ka-50's available for 2 slots only. I might even reduce that number.

6- Will the OH-58D be added one day?

Yes. Limited and only in some missions as it is the case with the Ka-50.

7- Why the Ka-50? Why the OH-58D? And what about other helicopters?

Because I do make a slight exception when it comes to helicopters. They're not as fast as fast movers. They're instantly sitting ducks and can hardly escape bandits once spotted. With them available we can finally provide escort for transport helicopters with their air to air missiles. The whole helicopters' game will change and thus make fighters think twice before jumping them. We might start seeing more helicopter vs helicopter scenarios with such a variety of modules.

But Mi-24P vs SA342Mistral is a top notch scenario, no? You're right, it is top notch (I feel crazy talking to myself) and the Ka-50 vs OH-58D thing might not be permanent and we might see them removed completely one day. Give it time, I don't like to rush that one.

The AH-64D is not going to be added.

The AH-1 (I think -1W) will be added.

8- Sometimes you update a mission, put it back online and then things are missing or malfunctioning. What's going on?

I run the server on ED's dedicated servers. When a mission goes online for the first time or back again after an update or a fix added the dedicated server seems to fail to load the mission's file in its entirety. That's why you see B-52's active, although the objective for them to become active hasn't been completed yet. That's why you sometimes can't rearm or see a certain type of weapons. Sometimes some ground units including air defences are missing, etc.

9- Any plans on adding the A-4 mod?

As a module, ASAP! As a mod, no. Because a mod would force everyone to get it and to constantly have it up to date, otherwise flying on the server would be limited to only those who have the mod installed. Besides, I've had some bad experience with some mods installed in the past and I'm dealing with enough bugs already. I can't risk having more of that.

10- Any plans on adding new maps?

Currently, no. I'm not interested in the Nevada map nor the Normandy/The Channel one. About future maps I don't know yet. We'll have to wait and see.

11- How can I know how much time is left until a mission is over?

In every mission's briefing under "Situation" the mission time is documented. So if you check out a mission's start time in the briefing you should be able to determine when the mission is going to be over by adding the mission time to its start time. Now, press F10 for the map view and the mission's current time is seen on the upper right corner of your screen. The mission's end time minus the mission's current time equals the mission's remaining time.

Example: Operation Fight Island lasts for 4 hours. The mission starts at 06:30 am. That means it ends at 10:30 am. If you're flying and at some point hit F10 for the map view and the mission's current time is e.g. 09:17 am, the remaining time is 10:30 - 09:17 = 1 hour and 13 minutes.

Missions' Briefings:

1) Operation: Battle Over Sukhumi City

* Mission lasts for 3.5 hours.

Situation:

Ground forces of both coalitions are fighting fiercly at Sukhumi city. Provide CAS for your forces.

Red Objectives:

=============================

Blue Objectives:

Destroy any enemy ground units in the city of Sukhumi.

***************************************************************

2) Operation: Battle For Maykop

* Mission lasts for 4 hours

Situation:

The Red nation and the Blue nation aspire to expand and control more territory. Maykop seems to provide a high level strategic zone for further operations across the region. Both nations have already sent their ground units to capture Maykop's airbase. They're fighting hard by the southern side of the airdrome and not willing to give up. It's time to call in the air force!

The team holding Maykop by the end of the mission (before server rotates) will be the winner. Otherwise it's a draw.

Red Objectives:

Fighters:

Provide CAP south of Maykop to enable our strikers and helicopters to perform their tasks safely. Enemy strikers and helicopters are top priority!

--------------------------------------------------

Strikers / Ka-50:

Provide CAS for our ground units 2 km south of Maykop's airbase. Possible enemy AAA's in the area (IFF before firing! Our ground units are facing east and are in the woods. The enemy has his units in the open). Once the enemy is wiped out a message will appear confirming the success of the mission.

FARP Kapel (last waypoint for Ka-50) is near Maykop and serves as a FAB.

--------------------------------------------------

Transport: (Mi-8 only) - CTLD F-10 menu:

You can deploy ground units including artillery.

1 km north of your spawn slot is a base camp where you need to land to pick up crates/infantries.

FARP Kapel is near Maykop (frequency 122.5) at EK64 north of the town of Kubanskiy where you also can land and pick up your cargo.

=============================

Blue Objectives:

Fighters:

Provide CAP southwest or west of Maykop to enable our strikers and helicopters to perform their tasks safely. Enemy strikers and helicopters are top priority!

--------------------------------------------------

Strikers / SA342M:

Provide CAS for our ground units 1.5 miles south of Maykop's airbase. Possible enemy AAA's in the area (IFF before firing! Our ground units are facing west and are in the open. The enemy units are in the woods). Once the enemy is wiped out a message will appear confirming the success of the mission.

FARP Rome (124.5) serves as a FAB near Maykop.

--------------------------------------------------

Transport: (UH-1's only) - CTLD F-10 menu:

You can deploy ground units including artillery.

1 mile north of your spawn slot is a base camp where you need to land to pick up crates/infantries.

FARP Rome is near Maykop (frequency 124.5) at EK93 north of the town of Tul'skiy where you also can land and pick up your cargo.

--------------------------------------------------

Viggens:

Same as strikers.

Note: 1 mile north of our FARP London at EK60 we have 2 Viggens starting on the ground that you can operate.

3) Operation: Phone Booth

* Mission lasts for 4.5 hours

Situation:

Red bases: Mozdok (main airbase), Beslan (secondary), FARP Yunga

Blue bases: Mineralnye Vody (main airbase), Nalchik (secondary), FARP Dallas

The struggle between the Red and Blue nations over the Caucasus region continues after the battle for Maykop (previous mission). This time the fight is on the northern eastern front around Mozdok (Red) and Mineralnye Vody (Blue).

Red Objectives:

Mozdok is our main airbase and Beslan is used as an alternative one. Unfortunately enemy ground forces (light APC's and infantries - no tanks) are all over Beslan's airfield. Therefore our pilots there can't operate their planes. They're hiding safely in a secret bunker waiting for our strikers to wipe out the enemy so they can scramble their aircraft and assist in dominating the region.

Meanwhile our ground forces are surrounding Nalchik to cripple the enemy alongside the mountains.

Friendly FARP is at MP60 south of the town of Stariy Bataksyurt.

------------------------------------------------------------

Fighters:

Provide CAP across the region, especially between Mozdok and Nalchik to intercept possible enemy strikers and helicopters on their way to free Nalchik from our siege.

------------------------------------------------------------

Strikers/Helicopters:

- Destroy enemy ground units surrounding Beslan so we can operate the airbase once again. (A message will appear on the screen to confirm the elimination of the enemy)

- Additional task: The enemy has a comm array at LP79 north of the river. Destroy it to blind their GCI.

Note: The enemy is only using light APC's and infantries at Beslan. Mi-8 pilots can go for some strafing runs and show some skill!

------------------------------------------------------------

Transport:

Mi-8's can pick up crates within 150 meters from the FARP and deploy ground units. Use the F-10 menu.

Blue Objectives:

Mineralnye Vody is our main airbase and Nalchik is used as an alternative one. Unfortunately enemy ground forces (light APC's and infantries - no tanks) are all over Nalchik's airfield. Therefore our pilots there can't operate their planes. They're hiding safely in a secret bunker waiting for our strikers to wipe out the enemy so they can scramble their aircraft and assist in dominating the region.

Meanwhile our ground forces are surrounding Beslan to cripple the enemy alongside the mountains.

Friendly FARP is at LP83 by the town of Baksan to the east.

------------------------------------------------------------

Fighters:

Provide CAP across the region, especially between Mineralnye Vody and Beslan to intercept possible enemy strikers and helicopters on their way to free Beslan from our siege.

------------------------------------------------------------

Strikers/Helicopters:

- Destroy enemy ground units surrounding Nalchik so we can operate the airbase once again. (A message will appear on the screen to confirm the elimination of the enemy)

- Additional task: The enemy has a comm array at MP45. Destroy it to blind their GCI.

Note: The enemy is only using light APC's and infantries at Nalchik. UH-1 pilots can go for some strafing runs and show some skill!

------------------------------------------------------------

Transport:

UH-1's can pick up crates within 150 meters from the FARP and deploy ground units. Use the F-10 menu.

4) Operation: Springfield

* Mission lasts for 4 hours

Situation:

The never ending war between the two vast nations goes on relentlessly. This time on the southern front of the Caucasus region. A fight over two important towns near a vital railway. The town of AGARA (belongs to Red) and the town of KARELI (belongs to Blue). Both found at grid MM05 at bullseye.

Red Objectives:

MiG-21: (and MiG-15)

Provide CAP over bullseye and make sure our strikers and helicopters can carry out their missions safely. Watch out for possible enemy Mistral Gezelles flying patrols.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Strikers:

Su-25 & Su-25T & L-39ZA:

Provide CAS at bullseye.

- Primary objective is to destroy any enemy ground forces seen at KARELI town (WP-1 / bullseye) and the two outposts.

- Secondary objective is to eliminate the enemy's EWR at the city of GORI 15km east of bullseye.

NOTE:

All ground units at AGARA town and west of it are friendly. All units at KARELI town and east of it are hostile. Ground units fighting between AGARA and KARELI towns are both friendly and hostile! Make sure you IFF before you fire! Any BMP's you see are friendly.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ka-50:

Same objective as the strikers.

Waypoints installed into the PVI-800:

WP-1 is friendly EWR.

WP-2 is friendly town AGARA.

WP-3 is hostile town KARELI (bullseye).

WP-4 is our fornt-line FARP Vetka (freq. 126.5)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mi-8:

Same objective as the strikers.

Most targets are light APC's. Quick rocket runs should do the job.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Combined Arms:

4 available BMP's west of bullseye under your command.

=============================

Blue Objectives:

F-5: (and F-86)

Provide CAP over bullseye and make sure our strikers and helicopters can carry out their missions safely.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SA342 Mistral Gazelle:

Follow the WP's to provide CAP over bullseye. Your main targets are enemy helicopters. Engage at all costs!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Strikers:

Provide CAS at bullseye.

- Primary objective is to destroy any enemy ground forces seen at AGARA town (WP-1 / bullseye) and the two outposts.

- Secondary objective is to eliminate the enemy's EWR at the city of KHASHURI 10 miles southwest of bullseye.

NOTE:

All ground units at KARELI town and east of it are friendly. All units at AGARA town and west of it are hostile. Ground units fighting between KARELI and AGARA towns are both friendly and hostile! Make sure you IFF before you fire! Any BMP's you see are hostile.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

UH-1:

Same objective as the strikers.

Most targets are light APC's. Quick rocket and gun runs should do the job.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SA342M Gazelle:

Combined Arms:

4 available Bradley's east of bullseye under your command.

***************************************************************

5) Operation: Ossetia

* Mission lasts for 4 hours

Situation:

Red airfields: Kutaisi and Senaki-Kolkhi.

Blue airfields: Nalchik and Beslan.

It is time to strike!

The Blue forces are focusing their air to ground missions on several vital areas around Kutaisi. The Red forces are therefore pouring all effort into stopping these attacks while flying CAP missions more than ever. The outcome of this battle on this cold day will determine the destiny of the southern coastal region.

Red Objectives:

* Provide CAP all day long!

Areas you need to protect from enemy strikers:

- At the city of Ambrolauri LN40 we have road outposts.

- At the Tqibuli Reservoir (the so-called Kutaisi Lake) LM28 we have pump stations (check out image 4).

- In the city of Kutaisi at the old airfield we have a military flight school (check out images 1+2). Losing that will disable L-39ZA's.

- 1 km south of Senaki-Kolkhi's airfield we have refinery buildings that are of vital value! (check out image 3).

- There is a TV Tower at the city of HONI, KM88 (image 5)

Note:

- L-39ZA's spawn with 100% fuel and two R-60M's. If you want to refuel/rearm you have to fly back to Kutaisi's main or Senaki-Kolkhi's airfield.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Transport, Mi-8's:

You can deploy AA crates after picking them up at Kutaisi using the F-10 menu to help defending our territory.

Unpack your crates at least 3 km away from Kutaisi.

=============================

Blue Objectives:

Fighters:

Provide escort for our strikers!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Strikers:

Intel has provided us with 5 target areas of high value that need to be destroyed!

1- Waypoint 1 is the city of Ambrolauri LN40 where the enemy has three road outposts; light AAA's. Waypoint 1 is also bullseye.

2- Waypoint 2 is the Tqibuli Reservoir (the so-called Kutaisi Lake) LM28 where you need to eliminate four pump stations (check out image 4).

3- Waypoint 3 is Kutaisi's old airfield right in the city of Kutaisi. Destroy the military's flight school building to disable his L-39ZA's (check out images 1+2).

4- Waypoint 4 is a TV Tower at the city of HONI, KM88 (check out image 5).

5- Waypoint 5 is Senaki-Kolkhi's airfield. 1 km south are seven refinery buildings that must be destroyed at all costs (check out image 3)! However, you should begin with the easier target areas. After all, Senaki's protected by a number of AAA's, one Strela and two Kub sites 8-15 miles northeast and west of the airfield.

How to know which target area (TA) is closed:

Once a TA is finished a Blue M4 infantry unit will spawn 10 miles north of Nalchik at the city of BAKSAN LP83. That unit will carry the name of that TA as an indication. Press F-10 to see if there is an M4 infantry unit indicating the completion of that objective. Four objectives = four possible M4 units.

***************************************************************

6) Operation: Five Points

* Mission lasts for 4 hours

Here at the far western front the clashes continue at the Five Points. Whoever controls the area gains control over the vital pipelines of the entire region. The Red nation holds Krasnodar C. as its main airbase and Gelendzhik as its second while the Blue nation operates from Anapa primarily and uses Novorossiysk as a secondary airfield. A ground battle east of Krymsk has started to gain control over Krymsk's airbase.

Krymsk, Novorossiysk and Gelendzhik can all be captured and recaptured. To do so one has only to destroy the ground targets of the enemy at one of the airbases.

Red Objectives:

All flights:

Krymsk is neutral when the mission starts (check it out using the F-10 option). 12 km east of Krymsk's airbase are the enemy ground units facing EAST. Our ground units are 16 km east of Krymsk's airbase facing WEST (facing the enemy's ground units). In order to capture Krymsk we'll have to destroy these enemy ground units. Once done we'll have defending ground units at Krymsk and available airplanes to operate.

NOTE: If the enemy has captured Krymsk first then we'll still have to destroy his ground forces east of Krymsk first and then his defending units at the airbase.

Gelendzhik is our secondary airbase housing the MiG-15's and the L-39's. Novorossiysk however is hostile and can be captured by destroying the enemy's ground units around it. Once captured we'll have some available airplanes to operate.

Waypoint 1 for the Frogfoots is the enemy ground units east of Krymsk.

If we lose an airbase we can recapture it.

NOTE: Anapa and Krasnodar C. airbases can't be captured!

Blue Objectives:

All flights:

Krymsk is neutral when the mission starts (check it out using the F-10 option). 12 km east of Krymsk's airbase are our ground units facing EAST. The enemy's ground units are 16 km east of Krymsk's airbase facing WEST (facing our ground units).

Novorossiysk is our secondary airbase housing the F-86's and the Hawks. Gelendzhik however is hostile and can be captured by destroying the enemy's ground units around it. Once captured we'll have some available airplanes to operate.

If we lose an airbase we can recapture it.

NOTE: Krasnodar C. and Anapa airbases can't be captured!

***************************************************************

7) Operation: Open Range

* Mission lasts for 5 hours

Situation:

The clashes continue in the Caucasus region and the main target remains all the same; destroy as many vital areas of the enemy's as possible!

Fighting in an open range the Red nation controls a factory at the city of Cherkessk, a water station and base camp. For Blue it is vital to annihilate these target areas while protecting their own base camp and siege units holding a Red town.

Red Objectives:

Fighters:

Provide CAP and intercept enemy strikers/helicopters.

Images 3, 4 and 5 show friendly areas that you MUST protect!

Image 3: Friendly Factory at KQ60.

Image 4: Friendly water station at KQ80.

Image 5: Friendly FARP at GJ28.

At KP90, mount Elbrus (the highest in all of Russia) we have a communication centre that is well defended. However we suspect that the enemy might launch his B-52's to carpet bomb it. Once we detect them with our EWR's we'll inform you so you can intercept them.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Strikers:

1- Destroy the enemy's FARP, all his units and buildings at bullseye which is the city of Peredovaya FJ98 (image 1).

2- Liberate our town Pregradnaya 28 km southwest of bullseye at FJ76 from the enemy's siege units (image 2). Destroy all units.

How to know which target area (TA) is closed:

Once a TA is finished a Red infantry unit will spawn 5 km north of Vody's airbase. That unit will carry the name of that TA as an indication to the completion of that objective.

Use the F-10 map to check that out.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ka-50's:

Same objectives as strikers:

Waypoint 1 - Enemy FARP

Waypoint 2 - Enemy siehe units

Waypoint 3 - Friendly FARP

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Transport: CTLD F10 menu:

Mi-8's at Vody can pick up crates/infantries and deploy them in the battlefield using the F-10 menu.

The pick up zone is the yard with red smoke next to it.

Unpack your crates at least 3 km away from Vody.

==================================================

Blue Objectives:

Fighters:

Provide CAP and intercept enemy strikers/helicopters.

Images 4 and 5 show friendly areas that you MUST protect!

Image 4: Friendly FARP at FJ98.

Image 5: Friendly siege units at FJ76.

Once the enemy's factory has been destroyed we'll launch our B-52's to carpet bomb a specific area where the enemy has a communication centre. We'll inform you ASAP so you can escort them.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Strikers:

Waypoint 1 (image 1) is the enemy's FARP and base camp at GJ28.

Waypoint 2 bullseye (image 2) is the enemy's factory at KQ60. (Watch out for Strelas!)

Waypoint 3 (image 3) is the enemy's water station at KQ80.

Destroy all buildings and units at all these target areas!

Waypoint 4 is Maykop - home base.

How to know which target area (TA) is closed:

Once a TA is finished a Blue M4 infantry unit will spawn 3

miles north of Maykop's airbase. That unit will carry the name of that TA as an indication to the completion of that objective.

Use the F-10 map to check that out.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Transport: CTLD F-10 menu:

UH-1's at Maykop can pick up crates/infantries and deploy them in the battlefield using the F-10 menu.

The pick up zone is the yard with blue smoke next to it.

Unpack your crates at least 2 miles away from Maykop.

***************************************************************

8- Operation: Whispers & Whistles

* Mission lasts for 4 hours

Situation:

Red bases: Maykop, plus 4 x FARP's at mission's start.

Blue bases: Sochi, plus 4 x FARP's at mission's start.

* Check out the F-10 map for the FARPs' locations *

The high mountains of the Caucasus hold vital FARP's between Maykop (Red) and Sochi (Blue). It is he who holds more FARP's, the mountains will whisper his name in the deep while his warplanes whistle through.

Each coalition starts with 4 FARP's. The objective is to capture the enemy's 4 while holding your own.

(FARP's can be captured and recaptured).

Red Objectives:

Fighters:

Provide CAP south of Maykop to enable our strikers and helicopters to perform their tasks safely. Enemy strikers and helicopters are top priority!

--------------------------------------------------

Strikers / Mi-8's:

Destroy the enemy's defending units at his FARP's. Once that's done the FARP is ours. Check out the image for more information.

==================================================

Blue Objectives:

Fighters:

Provide CAP north of Sochi to enable our strikers and helicopters to perform their tasks safely. Enemy strikers and helicopters are top priority!

--------------------------------------------------

Strikers / helicopters:

Destroy the enemy's defending units at his FARP's. Once that's done the FARP is ours. Check out the image for more information.

***************************************************************

9) Operation: Supervision

* Mission lasts for 4 hours

Situation:

Red: Beslan

Blue: Tibilisi-Lochini

The Red nation holds two EWR stations at the borderline on top of the mountains to monitor any activities of the Blue forces and gain complete supervision. In addition to that there is a Red convoy of fuel trucks somewhere in the vallies on its way back to Beslan. The Blue forces are striking again and the Red forces are back in their intercepting MiG's.

Red Objectives:

MiG-21's and MiG-19's:

At bullseye is our eastern EWR station. At MN02 is our western EWR station. Patrol the area and make the enemy regret any strike missions.

We have a convoy of over 20 fuel trucks either in the vally of Vladikavkaz (15 km east of bullseye) or the valley of Alagir (35 km west of bullseye - image 3) on its way back to Beslan. The exact location will remain classified until there is a threat nearby so keep a sharp eye on those radio messages.

==================================================

Blue Objectives:

Fighters:

Escort strikers on their way to the target areas.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Strikers:

Note: Unknown threats at the target areas!

- Waypoint 1 is bullseye; the enemy's eastern EWR station (image 1). Destroy all buildings and vehicles.

- Somewhere at MN02 is their western EWR station (image 2). Destroy all buildings and vehicles.

- A convoy of Red fuel trucks is either in the vally of Vladikavkaz (9 miles east of bullseye) or the valley of Alagir (21 miles west of bullseye - image 3) on its way back to Beslan. Search for it and destroy it.

12) Operation: Elbrus

* Mission lasts for 6 hours

Red airbases: Sochi, Gudauta, Sukhumi, FARP Kapel

Blue airbases: Maykop, Vody, Nalchik, FARP Warsaw

Mount Elbrus is vital to both nations to establish a communication centre right on top of the Caucasus region. In addition to that each coalition has one FARP that be captured and recaptured. The Red nation holds the dam at the Inguri river, while the Blue nation holds a factory at the town of Psebay.

Red Objectives:

Fighters:

- Fly to bullseye, mount Elbrus, and provide CAP.

- Escort strikers to their TA's.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Strikers:

- Waypoint 1 is the enemy's FARP at KP64. Destroy all units.

- Waypoint 2 is the enemy's factory at the town of Psebay at FJ48. Destroy all buildings.

* Check out the briefing images for both waypoints *

How to know which target area (TA) is accomplished:

Once a TA is finished a Red infantry unit will spawn 10 km north of Sochi. That unit will carry the name of that TA as an indication. Press F-10 using Combined Arms to see if there is an infantry unit indicating the completion of that objective. Three objectives = Three possible infantry units.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mi-8's:

- Deploy ground units to capture the enemy's FARP, once all his units are destroyed.

- Capture mount Elbrus. To do so, we need to sling load 1 cargo out of 10 available cargo units that are 1.5 km west of our FARP Kapel. Losing all cargo units wont enable us to capture the Elbrus. So fly carefully and deploy the cargo right on the top of the mountain. You can deploy ground units to defend our position from enemy Huey's trying to capture the Elbrus.

For picking up a crate, maintain hover over it for 5 seconds, while keeping an altitude of at least 7.5 meters and a maximum altitude of 15 meters.

NOTE:

If we lose our FARP, we can recapture it by using Mi-8's from Sukhumi.

==================================================

Blue Objectives:

Fighters:

- Fly to bullseye, mount Elbrus, and provide CAP.

- Escort strikers to their TA's.

13) Operation: Command & Conquer

* Mission lasts for 5 hours

Red: Krymsk (main), Gelendzhik, Novorossiysk, Anapa

Blue: Krasnodar C (main), Krasnodar P, Maykop

Each coalition has 20 APC units (BMP-2's/Bradley's) at the main airbase that can be driven/moved using Combined Arms. The goal is to eliminate the enemy's APC battalion, then to get your own to conquer the enemy's main airbase.

Red Objectives:

ALL Planes/Helicopters:

- Destroy the enemy's Bradley battalion based west of Krasnodar C.

- Once that is done, use Combined Arms (cmdr) to move our battalion to conquer the enemy's main airbase, Krasnodar C.

- After conquering the enemy's main airbase, feel free to conquer more!

NOTE:

Krasnodar C is defended by Chaparrals, Vulcans and Abrams tanks. Numbers are unknown.

Secondary airbases are less defended.

No assigned waypoints.

==================================================

Blue Objectives:

ALL Planes/Helicopters:

- Destroy the enemy's BMP-2 battalion based east of Krymsk.

- Once that is done, use Combined Arms (cmdr) to move our battalion to conquer the enemy's main airbase, Krymsk.

- After conquring the enemy's main airbase, feel free to conquer more!

NOTE:

Krymsk is defended by Strelas, Shilkas and T-72 tanks. Numbers are unknown.

Secondary airbases are less defended.

No assigned waypoints.

14) Operation: Swedish Delivery

* Mission lasts for 6 hours

Red: Maykop

Blue: Vody

Situation:

Viggen pilots are assigned to complete SEAD missions hunting four Sa-2 sites behind the enemy line. Waypoints will guide them through. Once that's accomplished, four B-52's will be on their way to bombard Maykop's airbase!

Between Maykop and Vody each coalition has one FARP. The FARP's can be captured and recaptured multiple times.

Red Objectives:

MiG's, L-39's:

Waypoint 1 is our FARP Shpora (check out the mark on the F-10 map), where you need to provide CAP.

Waypoint 2 is the enemy's FARP (check out the mark on the F-10 map), where you need to provide cover for our strikers and helicopters.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Su-25's, Ka-50's:

Waypoint 1 is the enemy's FARP (check out the mark on the F-10 map). We believe there is one Chaparral and multiple AAA's.

Destroy the FARP structures including the armed watch-towers and any ground threats in that area.

Once that's done, friendly Mi-8's can deploy troops to capture the FARP.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mi-8's:

Deploy troops at the enemy's FARP at waypoint 1 once his defences have been eliminated.

You can deploy AAA's to strengthen our FARP's garrison or at Maykop.

If we lose the FARP, Mi-8's from Maykop can still deploy troops to recapture it, after destroying the enemy's units there.

Note:

The Mi-8's at Maykop can be used at any time. However, they're more like backup in case we lose our FARP and need to recapture it.

==================================================

Blue Objectives:

Fighters:

Waypoint 1 is our FARP Warsaw (check out the mark on the F-10 map), where you need to provide CAP.

Waypoint 2 is the enemy's FARP (check out the mark on the F-10 map), where you need to provide cover for our strikers and helicopters.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Viggens:

Eight available Viggens for four different flights, each consisting of two ships. The four flights have the code-names Alpha, Bravo, charlie and Delta.

Each flight group is assigned to destroy an Sa-2 radar unit (check out the images). You don't need to destroy the launchers.

Once the Sa-2 sites are eliminated, four B-52's will head west and bombard the hell out of Maykop's airbase!

Alpha: Follow the waypoints 1-5 to the southwest. Waypoint 6 is placed exactly over the Sa-2 radar unit.

Bravo: Follow the waypoints 1-5 to the southwest. Waypoint 6 is placed exactly over the Sa-2 radar unit.

Charlie: Follow the waypoints 1-3 to the northwest. Waypoint 4 is placed exactly over the Sa-2 radar unit.

Delta: Follow the waypoints 1-3 to the northwest. Waypoint 4 is placed exactly over the Sa-2 radar unit.

NOTE:

Once a radar unit has been destroyed, a friendly infantry unit will spawn north of Vody carrying the name of that enemy unit to confirm the kill. Use the cmdr slot to see it. That gives you a total of four infatry units for four Sa-2 radar units.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

UH-1's:

Deploy troops at the enemy's FARP at waypoint 1 once his defences have been eliminated.

You can deploy AAA's to strengthen our FARP's garrison or at Vody.

If we lose the FARP, UH-1's from Vody can still deploy troops to recapture it, after destroying the enemy's units there.

***************************************************************

15) Operation: Catch Me If You Can

* Mission lasts for 4 hours.

* Part of the mission towards the end will be at night to allow the B-52 to move in if an objective is completed!

Red airbases: Gelendzhik, Novorossiysk and a road base (marked on the F-10 map)

Blue airbases: Sochi and a FARP (marked on the F-10 map)

Blue cargo ships have delivered goods to the town of Tuapse at bullseye. 3 Red convoys sneaked in and snatched whatever goods they could load on their trucks and are now on their way back to Gelendzhik.

Blue must conduct a search and destroy operation to eliminate the convoys, while Red tries to destroy the 2 ships escaping Tuapse due south.

Red Objectives:

*** Check out the F-10 map for useful predefined marks ***

The town of Tuapse (bullseye, (for MiG-21's it's ARC channel number 4, sector 2 / l ) is where our 3 convoys are escaping with loads of goods being transported by supply trucks, escorted by tanks and AAA's.

Make sure you provide cover and engage any aerial threats.

The convoys will send their current location regularly, so pay attention to any message popping up on your screen!

Simultaneously, the 2 Blue cargo ships that had delivered the goods at Tuapse town are now escaping heading 170 from bullseye.

Search for them and send them to the bottom of the sea!

The enemy has a FARP at EJ26 at the town of Lazarevskoe (for MiG-21's it's ARC channel number 7, sector 2 / l) marked on the F-10 map. Try to destroy it to cripple their helicopters searching for our convoys.

We have a road-base for 2 x L-39's at EK04 at the town of Goryachiy Klyuch (marked on the F-10 map). Both planes have 84% fuel (wingtips are empty) and 2 R-3S missiles.

Use these planes to intercept the enemy real quick before he gets to our convoys.

(Note that you must RTB to Geledzhik or Novorossyisk for reamring and refueling)

==================================================

Blue Objectives:

*** Check out the F-10 map for useful predefined marks ***

The town of Tuapse (bullseye, is where the 3 enemy convoys are escaping from on the coastal highway.

Search for them and make sure they never make it back to Gelendzhik. They must be destroyed!

Simultaneously, our 2 cargo ships are trying to escape heading 170 from bullseye to survive any possible aerial attacks by the enemy. Listen to AWACS carefully and engage any bandits going feet wet.

At DK14, 44°38'13'' N - 37°54'23'' E is a SAM SA-2 site (check out image).

The SAM site is exactly between the enemy's two airbases Gelendzhik and Novorossiysk (marked on the F-10 map). This objective is a risky one, but if you could take out the SAM's radar unit, we'd be able to send a single B-52 once it's become dark (around 18:30 or later) to bombard the fuel depots at Gelendzhik's airbase.

***************************************************************

16) Operation: Chaos

* Mission lasts for 2 hours.

* All weapons are allowed except for the nuke bombs.

Situation:

Red airbase: Gudauta.

Blue airbase: Sukhumi.

In this mission the goal is to raise the stress level of the pilots quite high by having their airbases separated by only ca. 50 km (ca. 30 miles). You taxi, take off and fly right into action. Dogfights are the main battles here, however, there are 6 cargo ships right next to both airbases that pilots can try and go on a risky mission trying to sink them at bullseye.

Feel free to fly over the enemy's airbase and drop bombs on it. Only IR SAM's and AAA's defend both airbases.

All weapons except for the nuke bombs are allowed, however in very limited numbers.

Objectives For Both Coalitions Are The Same:

* There are 6 enemy ships at bullseye next to the enemy's airbase. Try to sink them!

* Meet the enemy planes over the coast line and turn 'em into ashes!

***************************************************************

17) Operation: Two Towns

* Mission lasts for 4 hours

Situation:

Red: Kutaisi and FARP Yunga.

Blue: Tbilisi Lochini and FARP London.

The towns of Agara and Kareli are currently controlled by ground units of both coalitions. T-55's are holding Agara, while M60A3 Pattons hold the town of Kareli. It's a tanks battle! And both tank groups are being supported by artillery installations marked o the F-10 map. Destroying the enemy's ground units and holding both towns helps establishing a line of defense further on in the campaign. Hence winning the day is very vital for both sides.

Red Objectives:

Bullseye, Waypoint-1, is the enemy's town Kareli that is held by enemy tanks type M60A3. 5 km west of Kareli is the town of Agara where our T-55's are holding position. Furthermore, we have an artillery installation further west, while the enemy has his further east, plus we have a FARP as well as the enemy (check out the marks on the F-10 map).

We need to destroy the enemy's tanks and artillery units before he gets to ours to gain control over the two towns. This is vital for establishing a line of defense once we secure the area.

In addition, feel free to engage the enemy's FARP to cripple his helicopters operations.

Only tanks and AAA's are to watch out for at the marked positions, no SAM's.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mi-8's:

You can deploy up to 12 x Shilkas anywhere you want to provide anti-air assistance for our tanks and/or artillery units.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Combined Arms:

There are 4 x BMP-2's 12 km southwest of our town Agara that you can drive and use to attack enemies anywhere you see fit.

==================================================

19) Operation: Once upon a Time in Abu Dhabi

* Mission lasts for 6 hours (unless the objective is completed)

Here in the south of the region the clashes continue and the fight over the major and vital city of Abu Dhabi is inevitable. Both coalitions are trying to capture all 4 airbases at the city to secure the area and dominate the coastline. Mi-8's and UH-1's are assigned for the task of deploying crates to complete the objective.

* To win the day, a coalition has to capture all 4 airbases. After that the mission ends.

* Abu Dhabi International Airport is Red at mission's start.

* Al Dhafra AB is Blue at mission's start.

Red Objectives:

MiG's and L-39's:

- Provide CAP south, southwest of the city of Abu Dhabi (watch out for AAA's and SAM units!)

- Provide cover for our helicopters.

* We have friendly ground units controling the eastern parts of the city. IFF before you fire!

* Possible enemy ground units around the bullseye!

Ka-50's:

Waypoint-1 is the bullseye around which 4 different airbases (only Abu Dhabi International is friendly at mission's start) that can be captured and recaptured. We believe the enemy has a group of Bradley's spread out across the city, mainly in the southwest parts of it next to the enemy's airbase of Al Dhafra. Our BMP-2's however, are located in the eastern parts of the city (IFF carefully before attacking!).

- Search and destroy enemy ground units anywhere you find them, mainly at the airbases.

- Escort Mi-8's on their way in for deplyoing crates to capture the airbases.

Mi-8's:

Pilots! You are the backbone of today's tough mission. We need your expertise in swift transportation tasks at a hot front-line more than ever. Capturing all 4 airbases at the city of Abu Dhabi is very vital (only Abu Dhabi International is friendly at mission's start). Do that and we win the day!

- Deploy crates to capture the airbases in Abu Dhabi.

- Set up SAM's and AAA's anywhere you see fit to fortify our defence line.

- Deploy ground units at the captured airbases. (Note that the airbases we capture have only 4 Shilkas upon capturing)

- Deploy EWR units to provide a clearer picture.

NOTE:

To load crates, you'll need to ask for one using the F-10 radio menu, then hover over it for 5 seconds while maintaining an altittue between 7.5 and 15 meters.

- Deploy crates to capture the airbases in Abu Dhabi.

- Set up SAM's and AAA's anywhere you see fit to fortify our defence line.

- Deploy ground units at the captured airbases. (Note that the airbases we capture have only 4 Vulkans upon capturing)

- Deploy EWR units to provide a clearer picture.

NOTE:

To load crates, you'll need to ask for one using the F-10 radio menu, then hover over it for 5 seconds while maintaining an altitude between 25 and 50 feet.

20) Operation: Five Points Unleashed

* Mission lasts for 8 hours (unless the objective is completed)

Situation:

Operation Five Points was merely the beginning of an inevitable campaign of fighting over the raw materials in the western parts of the region. Five Points Unleashed is the name of the game. Capturing and holding all 5 airbases is a must!

The following airbases must be captured and held:

- Krasnodar P

- Krasnodar C

- Krymsk

- Novorossiysk

- Gelendzhik

Mi-8's and UH-1's are assigned for the task of deploying troops to complete the objective.

* To win the day, a coalition has to capture all 5 airbases. After that the mission ends.

NOTES:

- All 5 airbases are neutral at mission's start.

- Red operates from Maykop's airbase and FARP Kalitka.

- Blue operates from Anapa's airbase.

- Capturing Krasnodar P allows Red to activate additional aircraft in that airbase.

- Capturing Krymsk allows Blue to activate additional aircraft in that airbase.

- Weapons are limited so pilots are required to be at the top of the game of professionalism!

Red Objectives:

MiG's, L-39's:

- Hold position around the bullseye area and engage any bandits you see.

- Stay west of where our strikers are attacking and keep bandits off.

Su-25's, Ka-50's:

*** Mainly required if the enemy has captured at least 1 airbase ***

Waypoint-1: Krasnodar P

Waypoint-2: Krasnodar C

Waypoint-3: Krymsk

Waypoint-4: Novorossiysk

Waypoint-5: Gelendzhik

Once the enemy captures an airbase, your strike objectives are required. Check out on the F-10 map whether any of the 5 airbases (neutral at mission's start) are Blue (hostile) or not.

Secondary Objective:

- Destroy the enemy's first EWR units between DK26 and DK36.

- Destroy the enemy's second EWR units between DL51 and DL50.

Mi-8's:

Primary: Deploy troops at the 5 given airbases to capture them.

Secondary: Deploy air defences any where you see fit to fortify our defences.

* You can deploy EWR's for a better picture.

NOTE:

For picking up a crate, maintain hover over it for 5 seconds, while keeping an altitude of at least 7.5 meters and a maximum altitude of 15 meters.

=============================

Blue Objectives:

F-5's, AJS37's, F-86's:

- Hold position around the bullseye area and engage any bandits you see.

- Stay east of where our strikers are attacking and keep bandits off.

A-10's:

*** Mainly required if the enemy has captured at least 1 airbase ***

Waypoint-1: Krymsk

Waypoint-2: Novorossiysk

Waypoint-3: Gelendzhik

Waypoint-4: Krasnodar C

Waypoint-5: Krasnodar P

Once the enemy captures an airbase, your strike objectives are required. Check out on the F-10 map whether any of the 5 airbases (neutral at mission's start) are Red (hostile) or not.

Secondary Objective:

- Destroy the enemy's first EWR units at DK85, southwest of the bullseye.

- Destroy the enemy's second EWR units at EK37.

UH-1's:

Primary: Deploy troops at the 5 given airbases to capture them.

Secondary: Deploy air defences any where you see fit to fortify our defences.

* You can deploy EWR's for a better picture.

NOTE:

For picking up a crate, maintain hover over it for 5 seconds, while keeping an altitude of at least 25 feet and a maximum altitude of 50 feet.

21) Operation: Battle Over Sukhumi Unleashed

* Mission lasts for 10 hours (unless the objective is completed)

Situation:

Red operates from Sochi while Blue operates mainly from Kutaisi and has a secondary airbase available at mission's start, Batumi.

Furthermore, each coalition has one active FARP. Red's is the Valley FARP and Blue has a FARP next to the city of Zugdidi by the name of Zeni FARP. Both FARP's are marked on the F10 map.

The airbases Gudauta, Sukhumi, Senaki and Kobuleti can all be captured and recaptured.

Holding the coast line is vital for both coalitions to control multiple sea routes.

To win this skirmish, a coalition must capture all airbases and FARP's except for the enemy's main airbase (again, Sochi for Red and Kutaisi for Blue). The The coalition holding the aforementioned 4 airbases and the 2 FARP's wins the day!

NOTE:

AWACS planes are disabled. Each coalition has 2 x EWR units marked on the F10 map.

Deploy more for a clearer picture if needed.

Red Objectives:

MiG's and L-39's:

- Provide escort for strikers.

- Fight off any bandits close from any of our airbases or FARP's.

*** MiG-29A's at Maykop ***

We have 2 ships (type Grisha) south or southwest of Sochi on their way to Sochi airbase's haven. If at least 1 ship makes it to Shore our MiG-29A's at Maykop will be activated. If the enemy manages to destroy both, his F-14B's stationed at Nalchik will be activated.

Any time you receive the message "Bandits feet wet!" it means that the bandits are somewhere south of Sochi looking for our ships!

NOTE:

If a MiG-29A pilot lands at Sochi airbase and then decides to walk away, the plane will be saved there and another pilot can fly it starting at Sochi airbase. So always make sure to RTB to Sochi if it's your last flight for others to have access to the MiG-29A, otherwise the plane is lost.

Su-25's and Ka-50's:

- At each hostile airbase or FARP there is a garrison that needs to be destroyed.

- The garrisons include AAA's and IR SAM's only.

- However, watch out for possible SAM batteries deployed by UH-1's.

- The enemy's main airbase, Kutaisi, is surrounded by a number of SAM Hawk batteries.

- Attacking the enemy's main airbase is not an objective.

Mi-8's:

- Your top priority objective is deploying friendly units to capture airbases and FARP's!

- Note that only ground units are avialable. No infantries!

- You can also deploy SA-6 SAM batteries anywhere you see fit among other assets.

- Note that only our main airbase, Sochi, has SAM batteries.

- You can pick up crates at any airbase or FARP we capture.

NOTE:

For picking up a crate, maintain hover over it for 5 seconds, while keeping an altitude of at least 7.5 meters and a maximum altitude of 15 meters.

*** Capturing an airbase or a FARP ***

Only ground units are available; no infantries.

To capture an airbase you'll need to drop your crate at least 200 meters away from the orange smoke at the airbase.

To capture a FARP however, you'll need to drop your crate next to the FARP, but not on it!

=============================

Blue Objectives:

F-5's, F-86's and C-101's:

- Provide escort for strikers.

- Fight off any bandits close from any of our airbases or FARP's.

*** AJS37 Special Op ***

The enemy has 2 ships (type Grisha) somewhere south or southwest of Sochi on their way to Sochi airbase's haven. We need to destroy both ships to activate our F-14B's at Nalchik. If one of the 2 ships makes it back to Sochi, the MiG-29A's at Maykop will be activated for the enemy to operate. Therefore, destroying the 2 ships before they get to Sochi would give us a huge advantage.

NOTE:

If an F-14B pilot lands at Batumi airbase and then decides to walk away, the plane will be saved there and another pilot can fly it starting at Batumi airbase. So always make sure to RTB to Batumi if it's your last flight for others to have access to the F-14B, otherwise the plane is lost.

A-10A's and SA342M's:

- At each hostile airbase or FARP there is a garrison that needs to be destroyed.

- The garrisons include AAA's and IR SAM's only.

- However, watch out for possible SAM batteries deployed by Mi-8's.

- The enemy's main airbase, Kutaisi, is surrounded by a number of SA-6 SAM batteries.

- Attacking the enemy's main airbase is not an objective.

UH-1's:

22) Operation: Search & Destroy

* Mission lasts for 8 hours.

Situation:

RED: Shiraz International airport

BLUE: Lar Airbase

At mission's start each coalition holds 1 town and 1 lake around the bullseye (marked on the F-10 map). These are vital zones that each coalition seeks to hold. Therefore, T-72 and Abrams tanks are holding the areas and protected by a small number of AAA's and IR SAM's.

If a coalition manages to capture all 4 areas, it will have to hold them for at least 15 minutes before being declared the winner. This should give the other coalition some time to react.

NOTE:

Every 10 minutes a message will appear on your screen to update you on the situation of which coalition holds what areas.

Red Objectives:

* If there's no update message on whether a zone is Red or Blue, that means it's NEUTRAL *

Destroy all ground units at a zone before Mi-8's deploy friendlies. Once we have units on the ground capturing the area will require some time. A message will appear on the screen to confirm that once it's done.

* Check out the images for the parameters of the areas to capture.

* Note that each area has white smoke marking it's centre.

24) Operation: Fight Island

* Mission lasts for 5 hours

Situation:

Red: Bandar Abbas Intl and Havardaya.

Blue: Bandar Lengeh, Tunb Island AFB, Khasab and FARP Khasab.

Red and Blue are fighting over Qeshm Island. It's vital for both sides which is why ground units already have been deployed.

The goal is capture and hold Qeshm Island airbase. Each coalition will have to move in as many ground units as possible. Holder of the airbase by the end of the mission is the victor on the island!

Red Objectives:

MiG's, L-39's:

- Provide CAP around Qeshm Island for friendly strikers and helicopters to operate safely.

- Feel free to perform CAS.

Su-25's and Ka-50's:

Situation:

RED: Jiroft Airport, Red FARP West, Red FARP Middle and Red FARP East.

BLUE: Bandar Abbas Intl, Blue FARP West, Blue FARP Middle and Blue FARP East.

Each coalition has 1 airbase and 3 FARP's at mission's start. The main airbase cannot be captured. The FARP's however, can and must be captured. The coalition holding all 6 airbases wins the day. Each FARP has it's own Garrison that needs to be destroyed first before you can deploy units to capture it.

It is vital for both coalitions to hold the line at the FARP's area to cut the enemy's advance.

Red Objectives:

MiG's and L-39's:

Each FARP has it's own ARC frequency that you can dial to. Check out the F-10 map, click on the marker and the frequency is displayed.

- Provide CAP around bullseye.

26) Operation: One Night in Arabia

* Mission lasts for 3 hours

Situation:

Red: Bandar Lengeh airbase and FARP Kalitka

Blue: Lavan Island Airport and FARP Madrid

Into the darkness!

Take the enemy by surprise. Both coalitions have started sending in transport helicopters to capture and hold Kish Island. Mi-8's and UH-1's are battling again over deploying ground units to gain dominance on the ground. No SAM units are available this time due to difficulties with IFF. Therefore, ground vehicles for ground operations only will be available.

Red Objectives:

General and highly important instructions:

Use your navigation, taxi and landing lights every time you're on or around the airbase!

Use the left side of the taxiway.

Use the left side of the runway.

Use only runway 26 for takeoffs and landings!

*** Stick to these instructions to avoid collisions with other aircraft ***

MiG's and L-39's:

*** Your discipline is required like never before! ***

Get on comms to coordinate with helicopter pilots the attacks on possible enemy ground units on Kish Island, the bullseye.

Be careful before you fire!!! Make sure you're engaging the right target.

Double check with GCI operators if availbale.

Su-25's and Ka-50's:

Strike enemy ground units on Kish Island, waypoint-1, and clear the way for Mi-8's.

Mi-8's:

Deploy ground units on Kish Island and make sure they capture the airbase.

27) Operation: Sneaky Bastards

* Mission lasts for 5 hours (3 hours in the dark and 2 hours in the early morning time)

Situation:

Red bases: Lar Airbase (main airbase), Bandar Lengeh, Shpora FARP

Blue bases: Lavan Island Airport (main airbase), Kish Airport, Rome FARP

In operation One Night in Arabia the Blue nation was victorious. They took over Kish Island and now it's time to sneak up on Bandar Lengeh airbase and capture it. Furthermore, Red has a FARP 75 km north of Bandar Lengeh airbase, where Red Ka-50's and Mi-8's operate from. Blue has mobilised a ground force of Abrams tanks and Bradley's on the southern front to take over Bandar Lengeh airbase, while Blue allies have launched a group of Challenger ll tanks and MCV-80 APC units on the northern front to take on the Red FARP, Shpora.

Two Su-25's were upgraded recently with a Shkval TV among other systems onboard and will operate for Red from Lar Airbase. However, they still lack some weapons and certain pods. This might be the game changer in this campaign along with the Ka-50's for Red.

Watch out for B-52's... They're waiting for the right moment to carpet bomb Bandar Lengeh airbase.

Red Objectives:

Enemy ground troops have landed on the island and currently pushing with Abrams tanks and Bradley's towards Bandar Lengeh airbase and with Challenger ll tanks backed by MCV-80's towards our FARP (FAPR Shpora is marked on the F10 map).

Primary Objectives:

- Destroy any enemy ground units you spot on the main island west of Bandar Lengeh and our FARP.

- MiG's are mainly tasked with CAP and escort missions.

- Su-25T's and Ka-50's are mainly tasked with destroying enemy tanks at WP-1 and WP-2.

- WP-1 is where Challenger ll tanks and MCV-80's are located at mission's start.

- WP-2 is where Abrams tanks and Bradley's are located at mission's start.

- Watch out for potential B-52's approaching from the south (if so, you'll be notified via radio messages)

*** Important:

There are 2 x Ka-50's at Lar Airbase as well as 2 at the FARP. Let the 2 x Ka-50's taking off from Lar Airbase handle the enemy's ground units approaching the FARP, while the 2 x Ka-50's operating from the FARP push south and provide CAS for our ground units at Bandar Lengeh.

Secondary Objective:

Destroy the enemy's FARP structures and vehicles to disable his SA342M's from rearming. The enemy's FARP Rome is marked on the F10 map - ARC freq. 865 kHz.

Mi-8's:

Your only tasking is sling loading ammo crates from the FARP to Bandar Lengeh airbase.

Ammo-1 delivers ammunition to 2 additional T-72B's at the airbase (2 x T-72B's spawn at the airbase).

Ammo-2 also delivers ammunition to 2 additional T-72B's at the airbase (2 more T-72B's spawn at the airbase).

Ammo-3 delivers ammunition to 6 x T-55's. Time to mobilise our good old reserve tanks!

Ammo-4 delivers ammunition to one additional SA-15 Tor unit (additional SA-15 spaens at the airbase)

* Make sure you take the right ammo crate for activating what is needed and UNHOOK it within 2 km from Bandar Lengeh's runway *

=============================

Blue Objectives:

In 3 hours the sun will rise and we lose our element of surprise and the cover of the darkness. Be swift about it, gents and get the job done ASAP!

Our southern front is a force of Abrams tanks and Bradley's tasked with destroying anything in their path on the way to capturing the enemy's airbase of Bandar Lengeh.

Our northern front is a force of allied Challenger ll tanks and MCV-80 APC's tasked with destroying anything in their path on the way to capturing the enemy's FARP of Rome.

WP-1 for A-10A's and SA342M's is Bandar Lengeh airbase.

WP-2 for A-10A's and SA342M's is the enemy's FARP of Shpora (marked on the F10 map).

B-52's:

There is a KUB site (SAM SA-6) at Bandar Lengeh airbase and one SAM SA-15 Tor unit. Destroying the KUB's radar unit and the Tor will make way for our B-52's to carpet bomb Bandar Lengeh airbase.

28) Operation: Kiryat Shmona

* Mission lasts for 5 hours

Situation:

RED airbases: Beirut, Rayak, Mezzeh and FARP Yunga

BLUE airbases: Haifa, Ramat David, Megiddo and FARP Rome

The Red forces are advancing south to capture and hold the enemy's airbase of Kiryat Shmona close to the borderline.

Each coalition has ground units on the ground already and can delpoy more to hold the airbase.

Red Objectives:

Capture and hold the airbase of Kiryat Shmona. The enemy's ground units are 3-5 km south of the airbase. Our ground units are 5-7 km north of it.

Su-25T:

WP-1 Kiryat Shmona airbase - bullseye.

WP-2 Enemy ground forces' location at mission's start.

=============================

Blue Objectives:

29) Operation: Behind Enemy Lines

* The mission lasts for 4 hours. (Unless the objective is completed)

Situation:

Blue is advancing behind the enemy's lines with a group of allied Leclerc tanks to capture Minakh airbase. Red responded to that by launching a group of T-55's backed by allied T-80's to capture the airbase of Hatay (Challenger ll tanks defending the airbase), which is to Red behind the enemy's lines. It's a cat and mouse type of a skirmish. The coalition holding both airbases by the end of the mission wins the day.

Red Objectives:

MiG's and L-39's:

- Provide CAP east of the bullseye.

- Provide escort/cover for our strikers and helicopters.

- Be aware of enemy AA's around the bullseye and west of our Minakh airbase.

Su-25's and Ka-50's:

1- Waypoint-1 is the location of the enemy's ground units (Leclerc tanks mainly).

2- Waypoint-2 is the bullseye; Hatay airbase (Challenger ll tanks mainly)

- Provide CAS around the two waypoints for our ground forces.

Mi-8's:

You can deploy a number of AA crates to help defending our ground forces from enemy strikers and helicopters.

Feel free to deploy EWR units if needed.

* The mission lasts for 5 hours (unless the objective is completed)

Situation:

RED Airbases: Al-Dumayr, Mezzeh, Qabr as Sitt, Damascus, Marj Ruhayyil

BLUE Airbases: Ramat David, Haifa, Megiddo, Eyn Shemer, Kiryat Shmona

Red BTR-80's and Blue M-113's are fighting in the streets of 6 towns on Red soil not too far from the borderline. The coalition holding all 6 towns for at least 10 minutes, wins the day.

At mission's start Red holds the following towns:

Kafr Shams, As Sanamayn, Ankhul

At mission's start Blue holds the following towns:

Aqrabac, Al Harah, Jasim

Every 5 minutes a message provides pilots with an update on the current situation with the towns.

REMEMBER! All aircraft and weapons are limited in numbers!

Su-25's and A-10's are excluded in this mission.

Red Objectives:

Destroy any hostile ground units at any of the 6 towns and make sure we have friendly ground units moving in to capture and hold all 6.

All towns are marked on the F10 map.

Friendly and enemy artillery installations are marked on the F10 map.

Use SRS to coordinate your attacks!

IFF before you fire!

Ka-50's ABRIS Waypoints:

WP-1 - Home base.

31) Operation: Homs

*** The mission lasts for 5 hours unless the objective is completed ***

Situation:

Red airbases: Bassel Al-Assad, Hama and FARP Torba
Blue airbases: Beirut-Rafic Hariri, Wujah Al Hajar, Rene Mouawad and Al Qusayr

During the late hours of last night Blue ground forces launched an invasion from Lebanon crossing the Lebanese-Syrian border, and managed to capture and hold a Syrian airbase by the name of Al Qusayr just 14 km (8,6 miles) from the borderline.

Blue Abrams tanks backed by allied Leopard 1A3 and together with a number of APC's are currently holding Al Qusayr airbase, protected by Avengers and Vulcans. Blue commanders seek to advance even further north (preferably flanking the city of Homs and avoiding a street fight against Red RPG soldiers) to get to a vital Red FARP by the town of Ar Rastan - bullseye - (see image). The town of Ar Rastan is located midway between the two major cities of Homs and Hama. Capturing and holding the Red FARP by the town of Ar Rastan cuts off urgent supplies for Red ground forces at Homs coming from the city of Hama. Achieving that for Blue would make it easier to besiege Homs while stopping Red reinforcements coming to assist.
There are 6 road outposts around Homs (see image) Blue strikers must destroy before Blue tanks move in. Each road outpost is protected by Red tanks and/or BMP-2's.

Furthermore, Blue helicopters were transferred from Beirut-Rafic Hariri airbase to Al Qusayr airbase to provide CAS for Blue ground forces.

Blue wins if they hold Al Qusayr airbase (already captured during the invasion at night), destroy all 6 road outposts and capture the Red FARP by the town of Ar Rastan.

Red wins if they hold their FARP and recapture Al Qusayr airbase.
(Losing the road outposts is not critical but vital for Blue to destroy)

Red Objectives:

*** We must defend our FARP Torba and liberate Al Qusayr airbase! ***

MiG's and L-39's:

- Provide CAP around the city of Homs, 45 km south of Hama airbase.
- Provide escort for friendly strikers wherever needed.
- Note that the enemy has AA's at Al Qusayr airbase (bullseye) so watch your distance.

Ka-50's and Mi-24's:

- Destroy enemy ground units anywhere between Al Qusayr airbase (bullseye) and our FARP Torba.

Ka-50's ABRIS Waypoints:
Waypoint-1 is FARP Torba.
Waypoint-2 is the centre of the city of Homs.
Waypoint-3 is Al Qusayr airbase (captured by the enemy).

Mi-24's Waypoints:
Waypoint-1 is the centre of the city of Homs.
Waypoint-2 is Al Qusayr airbase (captured by the enemy).

Mi-8's:

Deploy reinforcements wherever needed the most. Contact the GCI operator if available and provide your assistance.

=============================

Blue Objectives:

*** We must defend Al Qusayr airbase, destroy all 6 Red road outposts and capture the Red FARP at bullseye! ***

F-5's, F-86's and C-101's:

- Provide CAP around Al Qusayr airbase.
- Provide escort for friendly strikers wherever needed.
- Note that the enemy has AA's at their FARP (bullseye) and around the city of Homs.

AJS37's and A-10's:

- Destroy all 6 road outposts (see image).
- Provide CAS for advancing Blue tanks.
- Destroy anything you find at the enemy's FARP - bullseye.

Waypoints:

Waypoint-1 - Road outpost 1
Waypoint-2 - Road outpost 2
Waypoint-3 - Road outpost 3
Waypoint-4 - Road outpost 4
Waypoint-5 - Road outpost 5
Waypoint-6 - Road outpost 6
Waypoint-7 - Enemy FARP - bullseye

SA342M's:

- Search and destroy enemy tanks between Al Qusayr airbase (home base) and waypoint-1, bullseye.
- Watch out for AA's.

UH-1's:

Deploy reinforcements wherever needed the most. Contact the GCI operator if available and provide your assistance.

32) Operation: Sukhumi - The Beginning

*** The mission lasts for 5 hours unless the objective is completed ***

Situation:

Red airbases: Senaki-Kolkhi and Sukhumi-Babushara
Blue airbases: Sochi-Adler and Gudauta

World War ll has come to an end! The East and the West continue to lay more and more pressure and sanctions on each other. New war machines entering series production and the only question is, who will endure?

The city of Sukhumi connects vital highways alongside the coast line between the southern parts of the Caucasus region all the way to the northwestern parts of it. The two airbases of Gudauta (west of Sukhumi city) and Sukhumi-Babushara (east of Sukhumi city) are top priority airbases both coalitions seek to capture and hold. Red holds Sukhumi-Babushara airbase at mission's start while Blue holds Gudauta airbase. Red operates from Senaki-Kolkhi airbase mainly (only I-16's operate from Sukhumi-Babushara) while Blue operates from Sochi-Adler airbase.

All 4 airbases are protected by various AAA units including flak. No SAM's available. Tanks and APC's (WWll vehicles mainly) are evenly distributed alongside the coast line between Sukhumi-Babushara and Gudauta airbases.

* Winner is he who holds both Sukhumi-Babushara and Gudauta airbases!
* Helicopters are excluded from this mission.

Each coalition has two EWR's working on two different frequencies to match the different radio systems of the available aircraft. If an EWR is destroyed it is replaced by a new unit 5 minutes later. A total of 3 x EWR's per frequency, 6 per coalition.

Red Objectives:

Air superiority is the key!

Search and destroy enemy fighters around Sukhumi city! Once air superiority is gained, a small number of pilots is required to perform CAS and help our advancing ground units capture Gudauta airbase.

Make sure you coordinate your attacks with the GCI operator if available, otherwise with other pilots on comms.

=============================

Blue Objectives:

Air superiority is the key!

Search and destroy enemy fighters around Sukhumi city! Once air superiority is gained, a small number of pilots is required to perform CAS and help our advancing ground units capture Sukhumi-Babushara airbase.

Make sure you coordinate your attacks with the GCI operator if available, otherwise with other pilots on comms.

33) Operation: Mountain Peaks

*** The mission lasts for 5 hours unless the objective is completed ***

Situation:

Red airbase: Sochi-Adler
Blue airbase: Maykop-Khanskaya

Each coalition has 3 communication towers on three different mountain peaks. In addition, Red has 4 oil platforms (Blue bullseye) 50 km west of Sochi. There are 2 Red cargo ships traveling back and forth between the oil platforms and Sochi harbour transporting oil to the mainland.
Blue has 4 oil derricks (Red bullseye) 50 km southeast of Maykop-Khanskaya airbase.

Destroying the communication towers (the nearby air defences as well) and the oil assets in the objective. Furthermore, Blue must destroy the 2 Red cargo ships.

Red Objectives:

Assets we MUST destroy:

- The enemy's 3 communication towers.
- The enemy's oil derricks.

Communication towers (marked on the F10 map):
At each TA there is 1 comm. tower, 2 tents and multiple AAA's. Destroy the aforementioned targets to finish a TA.

Oil Derricks (bullseye):
There are 4 oil derricks and 6 other buildings and containers that we have to destroy, located 50 km southeast of Maykop-Khanskaya airbase. The AAA's by the oil derricks are not the objective, however they should be destroyed to clear the way for striking.

Every 150 seconds a message appears with an update on the situation. It only shows what TA's are still active.

=============================

Blue Objectives:

Assets we MUST destroy:

- The enemy's 3 communication towers.
- The enemy's oil platforms.
- The enemy's ships.

Communication towers (marked on the F10 map):
At each TA there is 1 comm. tower, 2 tents and multiple AAA's. Destroy the aforementioned targets to finish a TA.

Oil platforms (bullseye):
There are 4 oil platforms that we have to destroy. The bullseye marks the location of the centre platform, 32 miles northwest of Sochi-Adler airbase.

Enemy cargo ships:
There are 2 enemy cargo ships traveling back and forth between the enemy's oil platforms, bullseye, and Sochi harbour south of the airbase. Intercept the ships when there by the oil platforms and send them to the abyss. Attacking the ships by Sochi is too risky so calculate your approach carefully.

Every 150 seconds a message appears with an update on the situation. It only shows what TA's are still active.

***************************************************************

34) Operation: The Tunb Identity

*** The mission lasts for 4 hours ***

Situation:

RED airbases: Qeshm Island and Bandar Lengeh.
BLUE airbases: Ras Al Khaimah Intl, Abu Musa Island, Khasab and Sirri Island.

Claiming the two Tunb islands is very valuable for both the Red and Blue coalitions in order to control various sea routes in the peninsula. (This is by the way a real life issue between Iran and the UAE with additional islands being included in the dispute. This mission however, does not simulate any battle or skirmish that might've taken place in the area).

Both islands are neutral at mission's start. That means the airbases at the two islands have neither a Red nor a Blue identity attached to them; both are neutral. The airbases at the two islands have empty warehouses and can only provide fuel if needed for a coalition's airforce holding that particular airbase.
Both coalitions have no ground forces available on either island at mission's start. However, 16 Red and 12 Blue speedboats are on their way to unload troops onto the islands. Red speedboats are approaching the islands from the north while Blue speedboats are approaching the islands from the southwest. Each speedboat carries 6 infantries. In addition, some speedboats carry one MANPAD and one ammo truck.

Mi-8's and UH-1's can transport additional troops, MANPAD's and ammo trucks to reinforce their ground forces.

The speedboats of both coalitions travel at a speed of 50 kph (ca. 31 mph) and their ETA is 35-50 minutes.

The coalition holding both islands by the end of the mission (4 hours) is declared as the winner. Note that ground units at Tunb Island AFB (the eastern and bigger island) MUST be within 2 km from the runway's middle section to capture the airbase. This doesn't apply to the smaller island of Tunb Kochak, because deployed ground units are instantly within the parameters of capturing the airbase at the smaller island.

Red Objectives:

MiG's:

- Intercept enemy speedboats approaching the islands at bullseye coming from the southwest.
- Intercept enemy fighters on their way to destroy our speedboats, helicopters and ground forces at bullseye.

Mi-8's:

- Transporting troops is your main task.
- Deploy additional EWR's if needed.
- You can also transport MANPAD's and ammo trucks.
- Feel free to provide CAS.

=============================

Blue Objectives:

F-5's:

- Intercept enemy fighters on their way to destroy our speedboats, helicopters and ground forces at bullseye.
- You can also help intercepting enemy speedboats approaching the islands from the north (AJS37 task).

AJS37's:

- Intercept enemy speedboats approaching the islands at bullseye coming from the southwest.
- Waypoint-1 is Tunb Island AFB (eastern island).
- Waypoint-2 is Tunb Kochak (western island).

UH-1's:

- Transporting troops is your main task.
- Deploy additional EWR's if needed.
- You can also transport MANPAD's and ammo trucks.
- Feel free to provide CAS.

35) Operation: Last Man Standing

*** The mission lasts for 5 hours unless the objective is completed ***

Situation:

Red Airbases: Cecitkale, Pinarbashi, Ercan, Kingsfield and a FARP -> must be activated
Blue airbases: Paphos, Akrotiri, Larnaca and Lakatamia

*** The mission lasts for 5 hours unless the objective is completed ***

The fight over Cyprus has begun!
Each coalition has 4 airbases (in addition, Red has a FARP that must be activated if they want to use it - see objectives). Red airbases are located at what is referred to as Turkish territory (except for the FARP) while Blue airbases are located at to what is referred to as Greek territory.

The objective is simple! Destroy vital structures at all 4 airbases of the enemy (the Red FARP is excluded) to ground his air force and thus gain air superiority over the area. See briefing images and read the objectives below to know what structures must be destroyed at what airbase.

Red Objectives:

All aircraft (helicopters included) are tasked with destroying vital structures at all 4 Blue airbases. There is one comms tower at each airbase that must be destroyed - see image. Check out other briefing images and study them carefully to know what structures must be destroyed, otherwise you might end up wasting ammunition on random buildings. Targets are marked by black circles.

Once a high percentage of marked structures is destroyed a message will appear on your screen to confirm the completion of that specific TA.

Mi-24's are primarily tasked with taking out air defences at the airbases. However, grab some S-24 rockets or bombs and destroy airbase structures at the TA's if you want to.

* Mi-8's are primarily tasked with taking out infantires and light APC's.

=============================

Blue Objectives:

All aircraft (helicopters included) are tasked with destroying vital structures at all 4 Red airbases.

AJS37's:
In addition to destroying vital structures, perform SEAD to make striking easier, especially for helicopters.

AJS37's Waypoints:
1- Kingsfield airbase.
2- Ercan airbase.
3- Pinarbashi airbase.
4- Gecitkale airbase.

* SA342M's are primarily tasked with taking out air defences at the airbases.
* SA342L's are primarily tasked with hunting enemy helicopters.
* UH-1's are primarily tasked with taking out infantries and light APC's.

As much as I'd love to do that for all the Harrier pilots out there but unfortunately the version of the Harrier we have is of the late 90's.

Great news! I like silhouette iff environments the most + dynamic. And we are expecting two more cold war era airframes hopefully soon, one for each side, Mig19 and A7. Slowly getting there.

The A7 fits well, I guess. I'll just have to find some balance for all the modules included regarding the available slots.

Excellent, I love servers that are prepared to go with restricted historical planesets, rather than just trying to have all of them in . .

I shall be patronising this server.

All of the aircraft in DCS were in service before 1991, sooo yeah... this is more of a 47-70 (if you remove the Su-25 and A-10A)

You can call it Vietnam War :D, because it ain't the real cold one for sure. Don't see why realistic payloads and aircraft for those years can't be made, but this is up to the server owner

Don't get me wrong I did like the server (before trees killing my fps became a thing) and I still like the F-5 vs MiG-21 setup, but I wouldn't go around calling it cold war (yes, I know it has always been called like that). Cheers will definitely be playin' on it again when I upgrade my GPU.

You're totally right, I'm aware of that. That's why I wrote this in the main post:

"In this dynamic campaign the focus will be mainly on the MiG-21 and the F-5 and other modules that I see suitable for the scenario I have. That being said jet planes like the Su-27, Su-33, F-15, MiG-29, M-2000, F-18 and F-14 will be excluded to simply give third generation fighters/interceptors or planes of an inferior generation the chance of dogfighting rather than having BVR aerial battles most of the time."

So basically all servers are Cold War kinda thing. Which means if I'd call it "Cold War 1947 - 1991" I wont be deviating all that much from the reality of it :smilewink:

As much as I'd love to do that for all the Harrier pilots out there but unfortunately the version of the Harrier we have is of the late 90's.

Uh...

"First flight of a modified AV-8B in night attack from was on June 26th, 1987. Deliveries to the USMC began in September of 1989 to VMA-214 at Yuma."

"Marine Attack Squadron 214 became the first squadron to introduce the Night Attack capability into the Unit Deployment Program in October 1991, by deploying 20 Night Attack Harriers to Iwakuni, Japan, for seven months

Follow-up units based out of Yuma received their Night Attack forms by the end of 1992."

Limit the weapons (mainly JDAMS/TGP which are from the 90s) and it should fit in just fine. (although in very limited numbers given only VMA-214 had them before 1992.)

The "S" upgraded Viggens you have on the server are from at the earliest 1993. The AJ's specific "S" variant upgrade entered service in 1996 IIRC.

Even the Ka-50 entered service in 1995. I'm from around then, and I wasn't even born when the Berlin Wall fell. Don't just set an arbitrary date cutoff/other limit for one aircraft then ignore it for others, same with the Su-25T, you can just limit the ELINT/MPU gear and boom, no SEAD. Although the T variant never even entered service.

TLDR pick what fits, but don't cite the dates as the reason when it clearly isn't. I get that "cold war" type missions can be real delicate things but 1947-1991 is at best, a little misleading with choices like that IMO.

Introduction dates or selections based on balance, don't do both, that's how we ended up with War Thunder.

This may come off as "ranty", but I am legitimately trying to offer some constructive criticism.

The concept looks great though, and I look forward to seeing how it develops in the future. Is Blue-Flag style gameplay rather than the 104th the end goal of your project? As it seems similar in scope.

Got three flak holes in my wing tips, and my tanks ain't got no gas.

Mayday, mayday, mayday, I got six MiGS on my ass!

@ OxideMako:

It didn't feel "ranty" or anything, no worries. Critics are always welcome

YES, the idea is to have something like BlueFlag which is a masterpiece!

I'm not even close in .lua scripting to the level Ciribob operates at but I'm trying my best to get there. So far looking pretty good and as I've mentioned in my second main post there are some features that I'm still working on.

Good critics actually. I kinda looked up the planes on wikipedia for mainly the date of the maiden flight of each module. That would simply include all planes and helicopters. Some have had some notable and very advanced upgrades making them no longer fit in that era and some haven't. I kinda chose the aircrafts with the lesser upgrades. Which is why I said in the first main post that I'm choosing only those that I see fit in my scenario and not the actual Cold War scenario.

I could limit the Harrier's weapons but then again it would be the only plane with night attack capabilities. The Ka-50 being Red can counter that because it can also strike at night. Writing that now kinda made me think "hey! Why not? limited operations at night where only the helicopters and the Harrier can operate might be a cool thing while the rest of aircrafts is on the ground waiting for their turn in the morning!". Hmmm... Fancy thought!

That's why critics are welcome :smilewink:

It's a work in progress and also did mention that players will have the saying in future plans regarding modules.

When all the other Vietnam Era jets and helicopters come out you can really go ahead and do a Vietnam (-1970s) type of mission

Vietnam map with all/most Vietnam modules? COUNT me in for putting together a dynamic campaign for that!
