Revelation, to be fair, in my case I didn't change anything, I ran the ED provided updater and it just started torrenting and then dropped. It's possible his did the same.

I just loaded DCS and I have a 1 in the module manager, click it asks me if i want to install the FA18-C

drops to desktop with an error and then a log opens

Stagger release by date of purchase, country, time zone, or something.

Would make it worse if it's not perfectly communicated, and communication isn't something that isn't improvable at ED, and even then you would have a huge pile of "why they, why not me".

You are misinformed. As has been said MANY TIMES, running the dcs updater is not the problem and is fine. It is when you are forcing it to open beta or changing file details to force an update to a version that doesn’t exist.

Try to keep up.

 

If you look back through the update process which I posted screenshots of, I followed the documented and official process to update using dcs_updater.exe. It is not fine. It is regressing openbeta installs to 2.5.1.

seriously. if you announce a release on the 30th, 16 days prior, and at 6pm of that day, the release isnt effective, then you have an issue.

 

Especially for a highly anticipated product that customers have PRE PAID for months...

Again, the openbeta update showed no update. Then, for whatever reason, it started to work. I haven't modified any of my files, whatever. Someone at ED changed files that allowed @openbeta to start working. It's just a shame that it was 2.5.1..

ED are just finishing preparing all of the servers, there is no delay.

 

It is still the 30th last time I checked

Lol I am sitting here just patiently waiting. Done been to the doc appt and back so I have rest of day available now.

 

I would much rather they get things right before making it available myself. If that means another hour or two, so be it.
