Computer Shutting Down

My computer has shut down on my 3 times today... Just updated to latest version of DCS open-beta with PG map. I'm including the Log... Please help... My system should not be overheating, My use was not demanding in any way.

When you say shut down, as in turn off your PC completely? or DCS crashes to desktop?

 

If it's shutting down and turning off, that could be something else like hardware, ram etc. See if it will shutdown using a different game / sim that's somewhat intensive like DCS is. Setup MSI afterburner or openhardwaremonitor.org to monitor usage and temps.

 

Are you using mods with DCS? I would try without mods, then do a clean and repair on the DCS install.

If your screen went BLACK-->OFF andf the PC remained OFF you either have a severe overheating issue or a very bad driver somewhere.

 

Check your Windows Log, it should give you a hint what is causing it.

 

Run some stress tests that include GPU, like Aida64 or RealBench. If it fails those tests in a 1h-test than you have a HW issue, either due to heat/overclocking/faulty driver(s).

 

If it passes all tests, for hours, then I would reinstall DCS from scratch, "tabula rasa".

I recently had a similar problem. Eight month old computer was acting like the power supply was dying - was randomly turning off the computer in Win10 and Linux. After replacing the ps I figured out that when chasing dust bunnies I had bumped the connector for the CPU cooling pump and it was loose. Reconnected and all is well since.

 

Don't know if it'll fix your problem...

Every time you open the chassis for cleaning or installing hardware, the last step before closing it up is to check/reseat every single board and connector. This is especially true if you physically moved the machine during the process. I spent many years supporting equipment that was moved or shipped on a regular basis and a loose connection or card was often the culprit when the machine ended up in the lab.
