what did you do to correct it, what was your expectation, what did it actually do?

Well where it says Auto for motion reprojection I put in Disable. my expectation was it would run at a higher frame rate over 60FPS and I could use 60hz for the refresh rate in Odyssey+. it rasn mostly at 60FPS but went under most times and was not good stuttered a bit under 60FPS..

I was able to run at 90Hz and it was higher then 60FPS so I know I can run more then 60FPS it is like there is still a limiter there.. so basically it is better to have either motion vector or motion reprojection running in most cases..

yep pretty much this, though some people like the 60FPS route...

yes but the thing is the trees looked really funny and off. Plus it does not go ver 60FPS even thos my maching is capable of 70-80's FPS.. really wierd this VR..

Yeah, the trees are a bit shiney, maybe something to post in bug reports section.

And thats the whole point you wont go over 60 FPS, to maintain the frames stable

yes but at times it goes way under which it shouldn't if I can maintain over 70-80FPS at 90HZ with projection off..

once it goes under 60 it stutters

Even then you won't be able to maintain a steady 60FPS, I even use motionvector to cap my frames at 30....

at low altitudes it could be annoying, but iam mostly checking systems anyways and learning.

This way I could up PD more since it is easier to maintain 30FPS, and i'm stutter free :):pilotfly:

Yes I tried that capped with MV and did not like it.. I also tried Process Lasso that seemed to have made it worse in my case.. maybe I did set it wrong. I was going to try it again but I am not sure if I want too or not looking for more info on that program & DCS..

After updating my geforce driver to the latest, I see image sharpening /gpu scaling option in my nvidia control. I understand this would improve image quality in-game.

Any idea how to might work with dcs and vr.

I played with it a bit and can't tell if it improved the image. I saw a degraded fps and turned it off.

Saw some youtude video on nvidia image sharpening and what I saw was impressive.

GPU scaling doesn’t work in VR as we can’t change the resolution unlike on monitors. Not sure about the sharpening. It should work in VR. Certainly works very nicely on a 4K monitor though!

Thank imacken. I will play some more with the sharpening part and see how it goes.

Well I just was looking at the specs for VR. it looks like a 1080GTX is the required Graphics for nVidia not sure if it is the minimum or reccomended..

I could experiment more but right now it is enough to look decent but run good as well.. I play MP most times so it is more important to maintain High FPS in a MP Environment..

Looks like I am holding hope for Vulkan to be implemented soon.. I see the 2020 news and it appears they have been working on that for the last year. So hopefully we can say the full implementation of Vulkan sooner..

fpsVR Report:

Delivered fps: 53.06 Duration: 24.6min.

GPU Frametimes:

Median: 13.9 ms

99th percentile: 20.5 ms

99.9th percentile: 27.6 ms

frametime <11.1ms(vsync): 31.5%

CPU frametime:

Median: 10.3 ms

99th percentile: 19.3 ms

99.9th percentile: 22.7 ms

frametime <11.1ms(vsync): 65.7%

Max. SteamVR SS: 100%

Render resolution per eye: 1447x1806(by SteamVR settings, Max.) (HMD driver recommended: 1447x1806)

OK I think I cracked this nut.. From what I can see in WMR it is best to keep the GPU Frametimes under 20ms.. I beleive 11ms and under is optimal but in DCS not always possible..

I adjusted the PD in Steam at 150% which seemed good, my settings in DCS where mainly med but the best way to say what setting you can have is to test and try and maintain FrameTimes under 20ms which is reasonable and keep the FPS @45 with Motion Reprojection..

I was running fpsVR PRogram from Steam. You can get Framtimes in the games FPS counter but this also keeps a log I posted abovre and belo. here is the latest test it was the Beachead AJS37 quick mission:

fpsVR Report:

App: DCS HMD: Samsung Windows Mixed Reality 800ZBA0 (90.002 Hz, IPD 65.9)

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 (26.21.14.3648) CPU: Intel® Core i5-7600K CPU @ 3.80GHz

Delivered fps: 44.84 Duration: 7.5min.

GPU Frametimes:

Median: 15.4 ms

99th percentile: 19 ms

99.9th percentile: >30 ms

frametime <11.1ms(vsync): 2.5%

CPU frametime:

Median: 13 ms

99th percentile: 19.3 ms

99.9th percentile: 29.3 ms

frametime <11.1ms(vsync): 23%

Max. SteamVR SS: 150%

Render resolution per eye: 1772x2212(by SteamVR settings, Max.) (HMD driver recommended: 1447x1806)

Now it may change in a multiplayer environment I would say if you want to test this is get a mission with alot of objects and such to test.. I am going to try a MP server in OpenBeta as that is what I am on currently. they say quite chasing FPS it really is more about FrameTimes as well.. because if you keep the Framtimes under 20ms you should have a realtively smoth experience..

Now there where minimal spikes like when I turned on the RB-75's ingame and turned on the EP-13 display.. I guess Vulkan will fix these issues or I could try and turn down the settings even further..

Technically, it’s 22ms (1000/45) and 11ms (1000/90) for 45 and 90 fps respectively.

well thnx for the exact numbers. I was just rounding off from what I saw on my fps VR Readout ;) but yes under 22ms is optimal..11ms is the best..You really can not go buy FPS unless you disable reprojection so it is best to see the Frametimes..

Question:

I hope someone can help. I want to capture WMR in OBS but I cannot get it to show up no matter what setting I use.

Does anyone have any help to get WMR to show up as a source for use with OBS? It's driving me crazy!

Thank you to anyone who can help! :joystick: :helpsmilie:

My friends at iRacing indicated the "OpenVR" plugin for OBS is needed. And that did it! Thank you!

I suspect your particular symptom is SSLR related try unchecking it ... and coming out of DCS and back in

No that is not the issue I have everythnig off and at its lowest setting.. I posted here wondering if it was WMR Based or if anybody with a WMR headset was having these issues..

1. I deleted FXO and Metashaders folders.

2. Lowered the SS this helped but not when I went into MP Server Through the inferno.

3. I turned all effects OFF and turned settings to low or lowest it couild go MP was having issue but it looked real bad in SP as well..
