Many have been moaning about stutter due to updates not just DCS unless you been living under a rock it has been talked about all over since April 
 
That being said I have had no problems but many here seem to have bearing in mind I only fly my own created missions in the mission editor.

That particular KB has a fixed "fix"

Yes I am aware of this but still think it is useful for others to know which build people are on when giving performance tips e.t.c.

 

If your happy and others are not knowing then fair play, but some one just saying "I am running with the latest updates" is as much use as a chocolate teapot.

 

I run a tight ship and hardly ever have problems and always find a work around unless ED have problems , I was just thinking of others that's all.

Same issue here i can't play DCS! when the mission is about to star steam VR crashes, but DCS stills running and the head movement is still detected!

I reinstalled Steam VR, WMR for steam VR and WMR windows driver.

I have also tested beta versions with no success!

I have also done a repair of DCS.

What else i can do?

Windows is on latest version and up to date. 20H2 Build 19042.964

try rolling back WMR for SteamVR to the non-beta path

i was in stable, and tested beta, then rolled back to stable with same issue.

Try starting WMR first, then close SteamVR leaving WMR running, then start DCS.  For me DCS will start up SteamVR then perform as normal.

I was having this problem as well.. To fix it all that was needed was just to click the DCS open Beta (standalone) shortcut to launch sim and problem went away. It opens SVR as well as WMR.

Great hope they get it resolved soon. In the meantime at least I can run DCS by opting out of the Beta of WMR for Steam VR.

I've opted out of both for now, considering the additions to SteamVR require also running the WMR beta.

That the current steamvr beta relies on the wmr for steamvr beta .

I’ve said from the start that I have no issues running both betas with the current 2.7 version, and I suspect that is the case for the vast majority.

Using Steamvr beta 1.17.8 here (no idea about WMR beta nor where it would be enabled from) with 2.7 and no problem so far either

Right click on WMR in your Steam library and go to the Betas tab.

for me the issue was very rare and seems to have gone away with the latest windows updates; so i am now back on the beta track again

Steam VR still crashes for me if I use the Beta of WMR for Steam VR. No Steam VR crashes if I opt out of that WMR beta.

Fascinating how experiences are different. In the last 3 years of using VR, I have never had a SteamVR (beta or non-beta) crash on all the different hardware I have owned in that time.

I have often reflected that in the PC eco  system it is a complete surprise that actually anything works at all, the total number of variables are staggering ...even just at the hardware level.
