Nope, can't say I'd like to change the nappy of any young one at nearly 01:00...unless you are an hour in front of GMT, so its nearly 00:00. Either way, its not ideal. But, that's the way it usually is. :smilewink: Glad to give you some words of encouragement. How old is Findlay now? Kami is almost 3.

PM me about Kami Iggy please!

Same with the 44th ... we don't have time to make LOck On our second 'workplace' ... although we do like to fly as realistically as humanly possible.

Man, i'd love that. but none of those are on lockon. either there is not TS server, or there is no one on the TS server. sometimes, there are, but they dont even use them. kinda hard then, isn't it?

DCS Wishlist: 1) FIX THE DAMN RIVERS!!! 2) Spherical or cylindrical panorama view projection. 3) Enhanced input options (action upon button release, etc). 4) Aircraft flight parameter dump upon exit (stick posn, attitude, rates, accel, control volume, control-surface positions, SAS bias, etc). 5) ADS-33 maneuver courses as static objects. 6) Exposed API or exports of trim position and stick force for custom controllers. 7) Select auto multiple audio devices

First picture:

GO to Settings\ sound input

Decide which key you want- choose wisely. (caps lock, F keys not used such as the time lapse one- F12 or whatever)

Second picture:

Select Push to talk radio button.

"Set" and press the key

Start LOMAC\ options\ input\device:keyboard.

Find the key you chose and ensure you made a good choice. (not already assigned to something important)

Delete the key's assignment IF it has one in LOMAC

Picture #3

Set PTT button in your stick's profile

no more echo~echo~echo~echo

a) You have answered your own question :)

b) you are making your own value judgement as to how people like to play offline ;) Please don't, as it has nothing to do with you!

"Greetings to the AI pilots" .....It's your opinions, its much better that you remember it's your opinion.

Almost. I've talked about pilots keeping offline because they're afraid to be a

"sitting duck". You should learn that most online players started that way and

best thing would be to team up with a serious group (not necessarily a squadron)

to get some training and routine. I can remember my first online flight with

an instructor - i was so nervous i forgot to retract the gear and crashed it

at 300knots  Oh, and it's not all A2A combat, many pilots fly A2G and all

sorts of coop missions vs the AI.

pretty much put paid to my flying days.

can u believe i got a copy of flaming cliffs lying here un-opened since the day i got it!!!

Hi Floyd

I do understand your enthusiasm about online stuff (and everyone else for that matter) but it just sounds far too intense for me!

I like the idea of co-op mission flying though! Sort of fighting terrorists together :)

I'd love to join in on something like that, but I'm having a hell of a time with my microphone. I'm getting this weird echo all the time. Heh...didn't want to go on TS sounding like Darth Vader...LOL. :D I've been doing more IADS intel today, learning how to make my hog an effective SEAD platform.

I had a similair problem with my mic ,found out it was caused by using the desktop frontpanel mic socket(mic2) instead of the std motherboard sckt.Switched to the std sckt and now I can adjust the volume and sound much clearer without the echo.:)

The Event

I like to fly online whenever possible, and always try and use whatever online Comms are running for that server, be it TeamSpeak or Ventrillo. When there's not much happening (I am GMT +10) I will fly offline and try and hone my skills or try an airframe I am not as familiar with.

I see in this thread that several of the offline only crew like the sound of an online coop flight. The logic here is quite understandable, You would still be flying against AI Aircraft and AI Surface to Air threats, only your wingman, escorts and fellow package members would be piloted by humans, which are hopefully more reliable for you than the AI ones. The enemy AI pose no greater threat to your survivability and ego than what they normally would in an offline encounter, and you get to experience flying and fighting in coordination with fellow Lock On enthusiasts with voice comms as well.

Notwithstanding that there are always plenty of servers running on Hyperlobby, I think its going to require a little bit more coordination to ensure that its as easy and painless as can be, to encourage more offline pilots to try a little bit of online, and I can think of no better medium than right here in this forum and in this very thread if need be, to get things started.

I am not a server owner so it would require the cooperation of a Server admin to make their server available for a session as a COOP with maybe some GCI AI to shoot at and some nice AG targets as well. But here's the thing, I think we should only request this after we have all confirmed here, that, Yes, we would like to participate. Maybe even with suggestions as to what airframes you would like to fly and what sort of engagement you would like to participate in.

Now of course online flying just isnt right unless you can talk to your fellow pilots. So if you dont already have one, go and buy a headset with a mic and download Teamspeak. Have a go at getting it all to work and if you have any problems, report back here and we will help fix them. If it requires a comprehensive guide as to how to use TS in a flight sim environment then I am happy to expand on this, but the main points to note are; Install Team Speak, plug in your new mic and headset, set the TS TX (transmit) function to PTT (Push To Talk), map the PTT key you selected to your HOTAS or just make it a handy key on the keyboard.

Now its not mandatory, but probably easier for all, if you install Hyperlobby, and also ensure that you are running a relatively straight v1.12a install. Anyhow the finer details can be elaborated on here prior to the event.

"The event", it has a nice ring to it, I think I will use that as a point of reference. The primary purpose of "the event" is to see how many, normally offline, pilots we can get in the air at the same time, in an online environment. Maybe given the many different time zones, we could have multiple "events" planned across the globe, all participating in the same engagement, and at the conclusion, the participants from each time zone "event" can debrief back here, yeah that sounds like a bit of fun.

Now of course something like this will and should take a bit of preparation prior to execution so I encourage all that are interested to speak up and have some input.

This post has turned out far too long so ...

Second that. I had the same problem and solved the same way.

...as everything in a complex SIM. Just like LOMAC, if we got scared by the bugs, then by the same tokem we woud never play it...and oh boy does it have its bugs! ;)

Planes taking off from fields, ships cruising several miles inland. Little things like that.

LMAO :D

Yeh, tiny things like that tend to think there is something wrong :D

Ruggy, do you like Red Viper? I do, its a great improvement on the old bird!
