Apache600 Posted April 27, 2020 Share Posted April 27, 2020 Alright guys, I had the chance to look more closely at all of it now that I'm home, thanks again for the reports. As per noted, the Mi-8 wouldn't depart, but oddly enough, the CH-47 in the F-86 version did. I re-did the fail safe's, and now the Mi-8 now departs .... but after take off, it would just sit and hover over the enemies and get shot up. So some further tweaking was required, and it works. The Mi-8 version DOES require the pilot to use the fail safe and force the helo to take-off. Hopefully when the "landing" feature is fixed, it will work without need of the fail safe. The mission has been updated and sent to ED. Its completely impossible reach home ¿¿¿ what I can do ??? It seems some sort of script (looking the debriefing log..), no really a missile, so what I can do? It's fun to do, just pick one that's got a loooooong clearing, and bring it in nice and softly. Keep the landing gear up. I tried the mission 4-5 times. @Apache600 Tired to turn/evade the missle, but always get hit by it and my engine shut down. Came to conclusion there's nothing I can do, because missile hitting is scripted, I couldn't reach any airport. Even when I emergency "landed" on a field mission wasn't successful. Apache600 Posted July 4, 2020 Share Posted July 4, 2020 Just test flew the mission with both the MiG-15 and F-86 versions, and everything worked properly. I did have to force the Rescue Helo into the air with the F10 radio menu command on the MiG-15 side, but other than that, nothing out of the ordinary. After getting "hit" by the missile, and doing a forced landing in a field, I got the "mission success" message each time. If you use the F10 radio menu to signal you're ok, you get the success message right away. If you don't, then it takes a little longer for to time out, but it'll still come (something like 10-20 seconds). With the MiG-15, when you lose your engine, you also lose your radios, so you might not be able to call. In that case, after you belly land and come to a complete stop, wait for a bit and the message will come. Hopefully the "spoiler" section here cleared it up. But this one was too hard as I bloody know how to air start it. Haha I think I tried it 10 times in a row before giving up and coming her! Had a feeling something was up... I can understand punching out of a "modern" jet if you lose your engine, since you also lose electrical, and everything now-a-days is inherently unstable. But the old stuff ... fly her on in! And even though you may know how to restart an engine, do you always want to? If you suspect engine damage, I'd leave it off. Secure the thing, find a field, and glide her on in. Anyway, I don't know what faults you have put in the missions. But I almost made it start again. Gonna try the mission again, to see how close I can get back to base. BTW. Thanks for having all the missions briefs hosted online. The Cloak and Dagger mission really needs it, as you of course know! I'll see if I can beat that one tonight! Cheers! Good luck getting back to base, you're gonna have to climb like a home sick angel (if you stay around the engagement area, and circle climb around there, you'll have the best chance. Get a good altitude before turning towards Sukhumi. And restarting the engine ... it's impossible :) I have the circuit breaker trip, and once the engine spools up to a certain RPM, the fuel is cut and the breaker pops again. That's set to repeat forever :) I've got a video on Youtube of me flying the Cloak and Dagger mission if you need any guidance or pointers on it.
