Minor visual-FX tweak suggestion to flak bursts

Might it be possible to do the following to the Flak bursts for the WW2 air-exploding flak shells (which already seem improved in 2.2)?

I would hope that these modifications would have minimal effect on framerates...;

1. Triple the length of time before the smoke/ burst has faded out/ disappeared. It's currently set to what looks like 2 seconds. I would suggest 6 seconds as a compromise. IRL flak bursts would linger for much, much longer in the absence of strong winds.

2. Double (or at least 50% increase) in the size of the smoke-burst, without necessarily increasing density, althought thick black smoke would be best

There is some really nice footage right at the very start of the video below from 1943, which shows the size of the typical flak bursts up at altitude (88m guns?) These flak bursts can be about as tall as the fuselage height of the liberator bombers.

Also, the shape of the bursts is interesting. They tend to burst in a dumb-bell shape, which is probably a result of the cynlindrical shape of the flak shells and an un-even distribution of blast-force.

Yes +1 I would even make the time of those Flak burst longer, more like 10 sec and make them way bigger.124460.jpg

To be honest I haven't seen any flak bursts in DCS, not even in 2.2 :( - I agree though, they should linger for 8-10 seconds at least.

They are very small and they seem to be just the same as 20mm flak bursts for 88mm.

I actually hope they will make new bigger and more natural looking 88mm flak bursts that are big just like in the picture above.

Currently they look like this (They are very close and last only 2 sec so are hard to screenshot):

See 25 seconds into this video, behind and below the P51.

They sure look a lot better than they used to and are much more visible now. But they're still too small and disappear to fast for me.

+1

at is seems most of time there behind the plane so it actually hard seeing them, would be nice if they were in front sometimes too.

The lag in the flak is because of manuvering offset from the flak aim point. Unless they are connected to a Würzburg radar or a Kommandogerät gun control computer sighting targets is done by eye. Also, the guns are laid and trained by hand regardless of the fire control method. Yes, i know it's all AI controlled in game! Try flying straight and level at medium altitude through a dozen flak 88s they'll find you real quick! Lol!
