Joni
I was wondering about how we input polar coordinates offset data into the PCN. Do I enter the data in true (grid north in dcs) or magnetic (post deviation calculation)? Please do not refer me to this post (https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2117082&postcount=10) Im a pilot and im well aware of how things work in the real world. Just trying to understand how they work in DCS World :) Thanks in advance. Sarge55
Rlaxox did a video for offset bombing. Sorry, I don't recall which north he used. blast
You have to enter true north bearing as mentioned here by the developer. The ruler in the F10 view map show the bearing in true north.

blast
Hey wait a minute. There is something that make me very confused now. In my previous post i said The ruler in the F10 view map show the bearing in true north. And your answered: Nop, the ruler shows grid north. True north is meridians north. Rlaxox uses in his the ruler with the map to measure the bearing. Does it means that he is doing... wrong??
Robin_Hood
Yes, Piston, BUT in DCS, Grid North is called True North, and Magnetic North is based off of it. All instruments that show "true headings" actually show grid headings, and magnetic headings are grid + MagVar. So, yeah, for BAD you can use bearings as measured on the map. Joni
Hi guys, I wanted to tell things like IRL. As a pilot it gets hard for me to express myself in DCS terms only, my mistake. Lets see. True North = The lines that you follow parallel to the meridians which will get you to the north pole Magnetic North = Is the "north" that you will reach if you follow the N in a compass. Since there is declination in the Earth, if you follow a compass all the way to the N you will reach a point very deviated to the actual north. Grid North = The north that you trace on a map, a perfect straight vertical line on a map is the grid north, which will not be the same as the true north except for one point in the map that is called the center of the cartesian axis for a given projection. So yes, as I learned today, you have to put whatever the ruler says in the PCN. But just in DCS, in the real m2000 you need to put true north which you will get by tracing the angle FROM the meridian that crosses your navigational point. Cheers.
