I am a returning player in DCS and i wanted to buy a new rig. I would be interested also in playing X PLANE 11 and Microsfot Flight simulator X. I would like to ask help in choosing the right components for the system that i need. Ideally i would like to play 720p at medium high setting with a 30 fps MINIMUM... I am not into the BUILD IT YOUSELF thing so i am choosing between preassembled solutions i have been offered these pre built systems CPU INTEL CORE I5 7400 3.0GHz GTX1030/2GB GDDR5 RAM 4GB DDR4 or CPU INTEL CORE I3 7100 3.9GHz GTX1050 2GB GDDR5 RAM 4GB DDR4 or CPU INTEL CORE I3 7100 3.9GHz GTX1030/2GB GDDR5 RAM 8GB DDR4 If any of you have one of this configuration pleas let me know if i will be able to play 720p with medium high setting with at least 30fps stable (ideally 60fps would be top!) Also would be much appreciated a suggestion for an alternative configuration that would still satisfy my requisite while also being CHEAPER! Thanks to those who that will find time to answer! Demon_ Posted October 30, 2017 Share Posted October 30, 2017 Rectification, the 7400 run at 3.5Ghz on turbo boost tech. Forget the 1030 and the 1050 (2GB Vram) to play DCS. I just need 720p as resolution i dont really need 1080p but i prefer a stable performance so a 30fps guaranteed and ideally 60 fps. So budget is tight and with those configurations you say i really can not play DCS as intended? I am not realy into PC components so i am a little bit ignorant in the matter. Question is I really need this rig ONLY to play DCS and nothing else , i dont do mainstream gaming on the PC and i would not really use it for any other things so spending 1000 euros just for DCS is a little bit too much....:):) thanks for any reply! That will not look good at all:( There is no such things as a to powerful PC for Flight simulation heat1099, the bigger and badder the PC, the better the experience will be. DCS and just "flight simulation" in general puts more strain on any system, it's always a balance between eye candy and playability, much more than any "mainstream gaming". Choose any steam game and it pretty much would run better than any flight sim, there's just so much going on in flight sims, plus just the shear size of the eye candy world you fly in. To get some sort of good playability, If you can? If he buys a mid grade system then has to upgrade more later is almost like buying it twice..I say,save longer and go big the 1st time..In the long run it will last longer.. Most guy's here research all the options and if necessary wait and save to get that little bit better part that will make there system better and more of a value for money build. I don't build PC's general, this time I did, because I bought the parts I wanted from different suppliers to get the best bang for buck. What is the cost difference between the CORE I5-7600 and the Ryzen 1600X? Have you compare this with other systems? Share some links to other systems, also have you looked up user reviews on these parts? Are they recommend for a budget build? I know you wrote 720p? You want 1080p if your spending this much, the biggest problem with this system is the GTX 1050 2GB, if I was to pick just one, you really want at least the GTX 1060 6GB, there is a 3GB 1060, I would get the 6GB one myself. I would get the I5-7600(k) K version and give it a little kick overclock, but then I'm stuck because the Ryzen 1600X here in Aus is around the same price so? I would go Ryzen? mmm decisions decisions.... 1050 vs 1060 6GB 1050 vs 960 last gen card I went as far as my budget could go on my build, well until I'd get a clip over the head by the misses lol.
