Hi guys - quick question...are the "old" A10C Campaigns still playable under our current DCS versions (2.5.6.xxx) ?

If not...are there any updated ones in the pipeline...all the newer ones seem to F14/F16/F18/Jeff...

Thanks!

Effectively I'm working on upgrading all over PG, TF, IndiaPak war and Iran-Irak war campaigns to 20.38.00 standard.

Harrier over PG taking off from LHA Tarawa will be released for OpenBeta and I will try to upgrade old Warthog and Eagle over PG versions too ;)

Hi guys,

Me and my mates just played the first mission from the Falcon over PG and it was awesome! Such a great work that you guys are doing!

But I would need some help as I was running into an error when the script tried to generate the next mission after the debriefing:

C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\bin\luae.exe: ../../../ScriptsMod.20.38.00/DC_Briefing.lua:380: attempt to index field '?' (a nil value)

stack traceback:

../../../ScriptsMod.20.38.00/DC_Briefing.lua:380: in main chunk

[C]: in function 'dofile'

../../../ScriptsMod.20.38.00/MAIN_NextMission.lua:258: in main chunk

[C]: in function 'dofile'

..\..\..\ScriptsMod.20.38.00\BAT_SkipMission.lua:208: in main chunk

[C]: ?

And the script exited with this message.

I tried SkipMission to generate a new multiplayer mission, same result. Then I tried SkipMission to generate a single player mission, that worked. Then it worked with the multiplayer mission too. But the progress we made was lost, it basically restarted everything. I have the original debriefing saved, fortunately, I hope we can restore the original mission-end state with that.

1. any idea about that error message and how to fix it?

2. can I restore the progress we made in the first mission? Can I simply copy the original debriefing notepad content into the file in the "Debriefing" folder?

We would like to fly the next mission in a couple days, so any help would be greatly appreciated!

Please let me know if you need any additional info from my side. Thanks!

Well the really bad news is that if you only saved the debriefing.txt file it will not be enough to restore the first mission campaign results

Your goal will be now to see if it was a sole bug or a problem with your campaign installation...

I'm not THE technicien (Miguel21 is but not sure he's free for few days) but you can try to test quickly to launch a mission then stop it few minutes later and see if an error message appears (possibly the same).

If you have the same error message (it should logically) verify that your installation folders authorize to write datas and that paths are good.

Did you change any values in conf_mod.lua or camp_init because it seems that it can be a timing error...

Can you try to install an other DCE campaign (20.38.00) and see if you have the same error ?

Awesome missions PB0! Thank you.

I am having one issue with the F18 campaigns, namely the PG one.

For missions with multiple CVN flights in the same package, it is impossible to make my takeoff time and I completely miss the package. I was given a takeoff time of 6:42, but the generator gave an AI 4-ship a 6:40 takeoff and another AI 4-ship a 6:41. By the time my flight got off the deck, our package was already over its target.

Is there a way to delay the JOIN waypoint for the package to accommodate for the traffic jams on the deck?

I have reduced the time between catapult launches to 5 seconds and increasing the 'startup' time, but it seems like I need to add the delay in either the takeoff logic or the holding logic over JOIN.

Thanks!

E: I think I may have solved it by increasing the time between catapult launches. It seems to be adding the delay in between the flights now.

Cool

Harrier over PG campaign needs some love...

Seems the Stennis likes to collide with other ships in its fleet ending your campaign.

Why load tanks full of fuel for a 20min mission, you end up dumping every single mission, its unrealistic.

Always 2 fights of 2, even when attacking 2 targets.

Other than that it's decent fun.

I will release a new version soon with Harrier on LHA TARAWA and lighten loadouts (no more tanks) and only 2 Harrier possible for OpenBeta (DCS limitation)

Hi I read the pdf file and was able to figure out the installation. After that I was lost. I find a lot of these instructions are difficult to understand by newbies such as me. Are we supposed to make changes to the scrip file and what are the changes that we have to make. Remember I am a newbie so please in plain English so I can understand. Also when I start the game I get the message " sanatizemodule ("os") in missionscripting.lua has not been disabled. Mission results will not be accounted and campaign will not progress." How do I disable this module. Thank you.

If you succeed to install the campaign the most difficult part is done !

After that the only specific DCE modification you have to do is to use Notepad++ to modify the MissionScripting.lua file you will find in Script folder in your DCS World (or OpenBeta) game folder.

Had two -- in front of the two lines like that :

do

-- sanitizeModule('os')

-- sanitizeModule('io')

sanitizeModule('lfs')

require = nil

loadlib = nil

end

Be careful after EACH game update you will have to do it again ! Thats why I advise to use a specific application to easily eanble this change. But if you are not sure use the manual method ;)

Tell me if you have other problems

Here's the oob_air with the stats. Viggen, F-15E and F-16 are not doing many missions :pilotfly:

That's why I wondering if updated the campaign was possible. Maybee something related to DCS version / campaign version.

I'm trying to facilitate mission creation for all squadrons planes. It seems that recent changes in DCE code reduced misions habilities...

I just tried it with the TF-71 SC Hornet campaign I installed about two weeks ago, same result. If I generate a single player mission all is fine, generating a MP mission results the exact same error. I didn't make any changes in the config files for that campaign. Even generating the first mission resulted the error (for the Falcon over PG campaign the first mission was fine but the subsequent ones failed).

Where are you writing the data actually, where should I check the permissions? And shouldn't the SP part broke too if that would be the problem?

Hi Jason, I'll update the Desert Warthog campaign for you. After I release the WWII The Channel Campaign tomorrow (it has the I-16 :joystick:). CEF is currently working on the Over PG campaigns so I don't want to mess with those.

Now that goes far above and beyond just answering my question :)

Great news!

I think I figured it out. It took some debugging but now I understand better what is happening:

If you select an "intercept" mission in MP, the list of waypoints will only contain a single item. In line 380 in the Briefing.lua you try to do this:

local time_target = FormatTime(camp.time + Tplayer.waypoints[Tplayer.tgt_wp].ETA, "hh:mm") --player time on target

The problematic part is this:

Tplayer.waypoints[Tplayer.tgt_wp]

Tplayer.tgt_wp is 6 (in this case) so we are trying to get the sixth item of the waypoints collection. The problem is, that for interceptions that collection has only one item so if we try to get a non-existent item from it, it fails.

Can you please try it one more time but this time pick an interception. Let's see if you can reproduce it this way. I used these entries:

multiplayer

1 hornet

1 tomcat as the secondary aircraft type

I picked a strike mission for the hornet

I picked an interception for the tomcat -> error

If I pick a cap/escort for the tomcat -> no error

I was even able to fix it by changing the above mentioned line (380) to this:

local time_target

if Tplayer.waypoints[Tplayer.tgt_wp] then

time_target = FormatTime(camp.time + Tplayer.waypoints[Tplayer.tgt_wp].ETA, "hh:mm") --player time on target

end

This way it only defines a time_target if there is a target waypoint. You use the same logic for the time_launch property too (lines 377-379).

I am really curious whether you can reproduce it on your end.

Sounds awesome.

Anyone know how to stop the tennis and tarawa from colliding?

Think you have to seperate the Stennis and Tarawa to their own fleets on your Over PG campaigns. I'm constantly seeing the Stennis turn into the Tarawa, causing your campaign to fail. I have several Tacviews that show it happening.

Great news!

The Channel campaigns are now downloadable at the User files of the ED website.

I've already updated the Desert Warthog.. Just doing some testing. I changed the SEAD and Escorts to F-16s and F-15s. It just feels kinda odd using the F-18.

Brilliant - can't tell you how impreessed I am!

Hi Jason, Here is the updated Desert Warthog 06. I will upload this to the User Files section at the ED website. But I'll upload it together with the updated versions of the other Desert campaigns.

For now, you can have this. (Hint: Always stick with your escorts. Wondering away from your escorts is the quickest way to get shot down.)

Very quick installation question (sorry)

Should my path.bat file be edited to be f:\DCS World OpenBeta\ or the full file string F:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World Open Beta\

(Given my DCS install is on F:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World Open Beta\)

I'm assuming the same logic will also apply to the saved games file...

Thanks!

Thx in advance!

Hi Jason, your path should be pathDCS=F:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World Open Beta\

For the saved games, it should just start with "Saved Games" instead of the full path (ex. "Saved Games\DCS.Open Beta")

If the FPS on that is really bad.. I tweaked it a bit more and transferred some flights to another airfield so they don't clog up the airspace at Nellis.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/vycw4xklz0bbbqs/Desert%20Warthog%2006%2020.38.00.zip?dl=0

I'm making a version of that with the C101, A-4E-C and MB 339 on the blue side and Mig15, Mig19 and L39 on the Red. No SAMs, just AAA. But the aircraft can carry Fox2s. It should be challenging.
