FYI

I clicked on the "buy" button for the Epsom campaign and it points to https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/products/campaigns/

An endless loop at 11:10 est am July 28 2017

I think something is planned with bombs as well.

 

No drop tanks or bombs in this patch that I can see. unless there is a secret way to find them in mission editor.

Gonna peak at the campaign.

No they are not in yet, they both impact the FM, so they need to be tuned and optimized for this, not sure when they will be released.

Personally will be wanting/expecting to see the Spitfire finished off,ie the above issues completed and the rest of the promised asset pack installed/released before spending anymore cash on the DCS WWII scene.

I tested mission 1 for 5 mins before I had to leave. Unfortunately the performance for me was rock bottom. On my regular, populated missions I get between 30 and 60 FPS, but here taxing on the runway gave me 15.... 25 on the air. (GTX 970, 16GB RAM, i5)

 

On to tuning I guess.

If you havent already, try flat shadows for both shadow options.

Yeah- already flat for terrain and low for others. WIll check. Funny thing is I made a D-day mission and populated it extensiively (Beach activity, 25+ ships, moving tanks etc.) and got nowhere near this kind of drop.

 

I fully understand the nature of the build and that things will change etc. On to tweaking (and maybe ordering a gtx 1080). Would be interested in hearing others experience, but should probably be in the dedicated campaign thread.

Yeah, try and go over your settings, you should be able to get it better, how much VRAM does your 970 have?

Same for me. Normal Normandy 30-40fps, this campaign was stuttering and freezing its way to 15-30!

I only had time to try out for about 10 minutes, but it was stuttering and freezing even to get into the cockpit after clicking on ‘fly’.

Really struggled to do start up sequence with all the stuttering etc. It seemed to improve when in the air, but still poor compared to normal Normandy.

I’ll try again tomorrow morning.
