In game recording causing crash

Or he could just install AlparySoft lossless codec on his machine, and it'll become available as a rendering codec in LOMAC. As long as he selects that for his rendering, he should have no problems. :smilewink:

That codec requires product registration to get rid of their watermark in your video, but registration is free and painless. :D

See, that is the funny thing, i was recommended a codec by someone on this sight, and tryed it out. Well when i went to go test it, it froze. So ofcourse i unistalled it, but it didnt quit, just kept freezing. IDK, but i hadnt tested the game recorder for almost 6 months. I assumed it was working, so i installed the codec, when it didnt work i just quit.

Here is the odd part-my computer freezes up even before i get the option to choose which codec i want to use. Like as if i open up the track, go up to click on AVI recorder, push it and it freezes, the frame to select codecs and other junk never shows up, like i said it freezes before i get there.

I do have the codec installed that comes with lockon, the xdivx i beleive, or something like that... Anyway, i havent been able to figure this one out

Edit-Iguana posted this while i was typing, the alparysoft codec, that was the one i installed. I am not saying it caused the problem, but that was the codec i installed, and then thinking it made the problem i unistalled it. Maybe it never was the problem, but that was the codec.)

Best way:

Edit track in graphic settings that let You operate fluently. Then set best graphic performance and record edited track as the numbered screenshots (best - 24 sc per sec like in movie 24 frames per sec). Install codecs when start playing with some movie editor (Vegas, Premier, etc.) and put there Your scs.

Sorry that codec didn't work for you Madman. I had lockups and CTDs too until I tried that one. I thought it was flawless. :(

Swartz, what video card and drivers are you using? BTW...I see you're at DY. Are you a maintainer on the Bone?

not to highjack your thread warthog, but i've had similar problems. Except mine as soon as i click Record AVI i drop straight to desktop with no warning window or anything of the sort. Just drops like as if i wasn't even running LO. To this day i don't think it works.

This sounds like the same problem almost... I cant figure it out. It would be alright with me if it was a bug, but it works for others and has worked for me also in the past...

Did you update your video drivers recently, Madman? I had all kinds of crazy s**t go on in LOMAC after installing the latest Cat 6.12. Hell...much of the time, I couldn't even get to the Options screen.

HEy IK, I have an Nvidia 6600Gt w/ 256mb. I don't know what Driver i have currently installed. I do know i got it off the Nvidia website. And yes i am currently stationed at Dyess AFB working on the Bone. I am a Weapons specialist right now.I get to load the 500 and 2k pound bombs the pilots drop on peoples heads. Its a job. :D:joystick:

Heh...I always get my X1950 drivers off of ATIs web-site too, but it doesn't mean they don't have flaws. ;) Maybe if you post your NVidia driver version, one of the NVidia users here can tell you "Yeah, stay away from that one...it sucks." I've had similar experiences with the latest ATI Cat 6.12. Cool beans about your work on the Bone. I was an AG on the Spectre WAY back in the day. Nice to run into a fellow wingnut. :D
