[NoNameYet] Android App for Mirage (WIP)

Hello guys,

I would like to introduce my Android app for Razbam's Mirage 2000C.

What are the application's interests?

For now I would like to extend the PCA and PPA from the Mirage's cockpit to an Android smartphone/tablet, it means receive data from DCS and also send actions on switches.

Is it planed to have other instruments?

Probably, it will mostly depend of the community's reaction. I would like the app to be built to receive other instruments easely. (I also have secret desire to use this app for other planes/helis :music_whistling: )

When it will be released?

I don't know yet, technical point to solve, then I will have to produce the "easy code", so... probably in May.

How much it will cost?

free, it will be without ads, and without dirty permission access.

Something else to say?

- Yes, when the app' will be release AND I will consider my code proper enough, I will put the project on GitHub. :smilewink:

- I still don't know how to call this app' feel free to suggest something

Any iOS plans?

from me, no, not for now, for one main reason: I would have to buy a mac, an ipad and Apple dev' licence

Here is some screenshots of the actual (and not final) render:

Woah, very nicely done!

"Witness mere F-14s taking off from adjacent flight decks, gracefully canting left and right, afterburners flaming, and there’s something that sweeps you away—or at least it does me. And no amount of knowledge of the potential abuses of carrier task forces can affect the depth of that feeling. It simply speaks to another part of me. It doesn’t want recriminations or politics. It just wants to fly.”

Hey,

I come with some news:

- I solved the remaining technical points which annoyed me to communicate properly what I need between the device and DCS, so now I'm just doing "easy code" part :)

- Still thinking about the architecture, to make other instruments integration easy

- I'm still trying to find a "good" design

- I'm still looking for a name, I thought about "Cockpit++", because the app extends the cockpit (I read the proposals, thank you guys)

- The PCA is done en fully functionnal

Is this just going to show the display or will we be able to interact with it to press buttons?

Know and use all the capabilities in your airplane. If you don't, sooner or later, some guy who does use them all will kick your ass.

We are able to interact with it, all the buttons here are working ;)

I'm working on the PPA now :)

Really nice

Complete INS (with Keys and digits) would be very useful :)

Thank you

And... I know, but I'm doing it for free, so I don't want to be too ambitious, if I loose motivation for the project I will be glad I didn't promise anything ;)

Today I had a day off, so... I spent all the day on the app', it wasn't easy, I'm dead x)

So what's up? ==> the PCA is done! (visually and functionnally)

But I still have things to do on the app before deploying it with the PPA and the PCA.

Here some screenshots, can you please tell me if the 4 white circles are OK to show where we have to click?

And you can notice the 2 orientation mods are working pretty well :)

See you later guys

So how does this interact with DCS. How does it connect? Will this work in collaboration with SRS, TACVEIW and in multiplayer all the while passing IC?

Better than long answer, I made this diagram to explain how it works:

Yes it does, I already tried it on online servers which allow IC, and it's working pretty well :)

I can really see the potential in apps like this. Please keep up the good work! Personally I would love to see apps for many of the modules. Some odd the top of my head ideas are the radar display in the Mirage, Nav computer in the Viggen, and Abris from the KA-50.

Hello guys,

Here some news about the project

The app' name

I'm very close to keep Cockpit++ (with the idea of the cockpit's extention)

The architecture

I have revised my ambitions upwards ... the app will be used for other instruments and other modules, but do not expect too much, it will be limited and I fear some instruments are very hard to implement (The A10C's TGP for example looks impossible ).

What's up in the app'

For now I'm cleaning the code, add comment's, make the concepts clear, ... My goal is when I will publish the app' to have "only" to implement other instruments without touch the rest of the app'

Slower dev' in the next weeks

This app is taking so much time, I have to work a little less on it, I've other things to do (and someone isn't happy I'm spending days on my computer :music_whistling:). But I still plan to publish a first version of the app before end of May with the PCA and the PPA of the Mirage 2000C!

See you
