Kestral5003
soon™ We don't know and that won't change until ED is telling us something (again) Thats a shame, its a pain to have two installs and it can't be easy on ED's resources to have to split between the two. QuiGon
Thats a shame, its a pain to have two installs and it can't be easy on ED's resources to have to split between the two. Exactly, it's even more painful for the devs to work with the different versions than it is for us to use them. So you can be sure, that they are really trying to make it happen ;) Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing! TC Yes, and they're more keenly aware of that fact than anyone I'm sure. Unfortunately, getting the Caucasus map into 2.0 is not just a "copy and paste" operation and has required some serious work to date.

Raven68
Let me ask this Sith. Have most of the resources been pulled away from the Caucasus map to get Normandy ready. It just seems like any news on progress is none existent for the past 3 months. Rogue Trooper
would be sweet if the merge came before the Normandy map release... my SSD is starting to look somewhat full with 2 worlds loaded, ya know what I mean! 1 HP G2 Reverb, Windows 10 VR settings: IPD is 64.5mm, High image quality, G2 reset to 60Hz refresh rate as standard. OpenXR user, Open XR tool kit disabled. Open XR was a massive upgrade for me. DCS: Pixel Density 1.0, Forced IPD at 55 (perceived world size), 0 X MSAA, 0 X SSAA. My real IPD is 64.5mm. Prescription VROptition lenses installed. VR Driver system: I9-9900KS 5Ghz CPU. XI Hero motherboard and RTX 3090 graphics card, 64 gigs Ram, No OC at the mo. MT user (2 - 5 fps gain). DCS run at 60Hz. Vaicom user. Thrustmaster warthog user. MFG pedals with damper upgrade.... and what an upgrade! Total controls Apache MPDs set to virtual Reality height with brail enhancements to ensure 100% button activation in VR.. Simshaker Jet Pro vibration seat.. Uses data from DCS not sound.... you know when you are dropping into VRS with this bad boy.

The Merge wouldnt come until the Caucasus map is ready for public access. So you can be sure, that they are really trying to make it happen ;) Yeah but I think that it should stay just as it is for the time being. Although it's kind of a pain in the behind to have 2 or 3 installs on my computer, NTTR is a god awful mess for many of us as of the last update. I can at least go to 1.5 now since my 2.0 is not working properly. If the two were merged, I would think that many of the updates would have lateral effects and that both maps would be messy at that point. I may not be very happy that Nevada is the way that it is right now, but at least ED has left me with something to play on while I stew about it. :smilewink:

By the way, what is taking ED so long to do it? Is the 2.0 client still being considered too immature internally, has the Caucasus map not been redone yet or is it something else entirely? Is the 2.0 client still being considered too immature internally, has the Caucasus map not been redone yet or is it something else entirely? It appears MOST of the muscle is being used to get Normandy out the door so that may lend to SOME resources being pulled away from Caucasus yet delaying it. ED Team NineLine Posted March 11, 2017 ED Team Share Posted March 11, 2017 No, it is not. Normandy can, and will, be integrated into the V2.x Alpha branch. Correct, any new map can be merged into the 2.X install... the merge requires the Caucasus map, and other things be buttoned up for 2.5.
