Howdy

With recent Viggen arrival i thought since we have a thunder, why not create the Lightning for it to have a company. :)

This is the result. Thoughts ?

Look in the dynamic numbering system thread. There is a solid post there on how to disable it

Thank you again. ;)

Still thinking that base color is missing something... or the nose ...perhaps even bottom.

Tail gradient is all wrong ....

So, just my two cents

If I were going to change something, I'd have the entire jet have a more defined gradient lift to dark from nose to tail. It looks good but I think that might give you a bit more organized look to it.

But hey man, I've been there. You'll never really feel finished.

Looks great

Is it a personal or a WIP to get released when it's done?

The suspense is killing me

Howdy

I sort of forgot about it last time i have been home.

Something else cought my attention and didnt let go.

Tell you what.

Next time am at home ill look into finishing it....would love to make a video to acompany it, but it depends on how much time will i have.... we will see.

so i guess soonish as always with my projects :smilewink:

I would love to see this finish on a real Mirage, because on an artistic point of view, it's very talently done. If I was a Mirage2000 squadron leader, you would get immediately a mail from me. This aircraft would so be the best real Mirage 2000 with a special finish.

But in DCS, nope.

DCS is supposed to be a SIMULATION and so much talent (I repeat, the skin is artistically great) could be better used to make real world liveries.

Then don't download it...

wow:surprise: that was unexpected.

thank you for all the praises ...but i dont think it is deserved.

The real artist is the nature and the folks that photographed the lightnings.

I just found some pictures, done some cutting, splitting, bending, overlaying, twisting, turning and that was it, there was very little painting involved.

But thank you anyway :smilewink:

UPDATE:

I think it is finished

only thing - i would like it to be in higher resolution ....any tip for DDS convertor that does not downscale ?

... been using DXT bmp and it does do downscale.

anyway here is a little tease.

Made it a small logo at the front.....

it felt empty and i kinda like it.

But i can upload without it.

Tried to slap it on nosecone but it didnt look good there.

No, it's deserved.

On a real Mirage 2000, it would be a blast.

You should try to send pictures of your Mirage to some squadrons.

Damn it. You were right!

getting obsessed with tiny details like overlapping glows.

But that is it, am not touching it anymore.

....unless anything important..... or more days come by.:music_whistling:

Oh i have no idea how to paint on planes :-))

But you are most kind.

Am not an artist. Just a fellow simmer/game player.

Now about that video.... phew

I noticed a comment in the "User Downloads" that somebody was having trouble getting the skin to show so I tired it and cannot get the skin to show either.

I'm using Beta 1.5.6.1938

Any help appreciated, as I don't have a clue regarding the description.lua file

Please no apology is necessary, I'm indebted to you for producing this wonderful skin & who knows what the problem is could be me, could be the update, or just a simple error

I'm no expert but I'll take a look at the description.lua and see if I can see anything.

Anyway what's a few more days, once again thanks for taking the time
