I'm an architect and urban planner, and I can asure you, this shape has nothing to do with a Nazi-Architect or something like that. The very same discussion was going on at the IL2-Forums a few days ago.

As an architect, you have to maximise the building area on the given ground and you also have to minimize central installations like stairwells, cantinas and lifts. This building-class is called a 4-spanner, because it has 4 wings connected to a central facility. Some have only 3 or 2 some have even more and look like stars or something.

Now, given the available ground, with the common cross, you have a lot of unused space. But if you use other shapes (there are a bunch of similar buildings with different shapes next to the "swatiska-building") you either loose the central facility functions or the open access to the fields between the wings of the buildings. At the same time, you cannot place the buildings too close to another (for various reasons).

So, the cross was added additional wings in orthogonal shape to raise the overall building area while maintaining the above rules.

So, nothing special about it, if you know the background.

And even if it was on purpose, so what? Stop living in the past please, and prevent WW3 in the next 200 years, that should be the goal, not screaming conspiracy and remembering long gone deeds.

Oh, Napoleon's campaigns were also brutal, yet, nobody dispises him, and he's regarded as a great tacticial and leader in most history books. And so will be Hitler after 50-100 years (hopefully no more paper books by that time). As time passes by the 'wounds' heal, but some people decide to remind us every day of it. It's like September 11-ism, every time saying 'but 911...' SO what? It happened, deal with it, it won't get any more dramatic or better, so stop referring to things long gone and concentrate on a better future instead of invading countries and blowing people up for some religion.

Heh...its a little more obvious on a sectional...looks much like the first building in the thread. ;) I wonder how old the Wikimapia and Google Earth images are, there are some AWFULLY small aircraft at Concourse A, and that has been the international terminal since AT LEAST 2002.

Take a look at this runway layout.

Same principle. Look at how far away the runways are. They probably can be even used much more effective than parallel runways, due to way less turbulences between the takeoffs - you just pass the route quickly.

Yet, they still share central facilities and infrastructures.

Roger that. Just commenting on the shape, I know it wasn't secretly designed by Nazis...or Hindu for that matter. :D Its location is a little odd though. We get the highest number of Denver area tornado sightings right in that general location...always have.

Reminds me of the Peruvian (okay, south-american) mountains with special patterns for our dearly beloved extraterrestrial visitors, so they could enjoy them in their wagons of light, and laugh on us from their space ships for all the stupid kinds of animals we have. Oh well, it's more believable than God at least.

Pretty cool. The swastica is a bit creepy, but is probably rather benign. I kind of see your pentagram, but it's missing a side, so it wouldnt work. The last one I dont get.

Cool find.:smilewink:

That was unprovoked and unessicary. Congrats on overreacting.
