[RESOLVED]Fatal Error popup + Crash

Hi,

I have a problem with DCS. I just bought the NTTR map and dowloaded the DCS 2.0. It is a fresh install.

When I start DCS, I get two successives popups:

Error_Lancement_F15C_1.JPG

After closing the two Fatal Error popups I finally get the launching menu of DCS.

I then select a quick mission (no matter the mission or the plane) and I get for the third time the same popup, from there DCS crashes and I have to kill it to end.

I tried a repair but without success.

Do you have any clue what can be the problem here ?

For information, I also gat the 2 successives popups for the DCS 1.5.5.60565.126 but I can launch missions without problem.

My configuration:

Win 7

GTX 970

Intel I7 4870k

16GB DDR3

Hi

this looks more of an unusual one,

most of the time it is antivirus creating the issue, but I have not seen this fatal error before

some FAQs here might help

but if you have no luck I would put a support ticket in

I proceeded to a complete reinstallation.

Now I don't have the 2 popups when starting DCS, but the Fatal Error popup still appear when launching the mission followed by the crash of the application.

I opened a ticket, wait and see...

Thanks BIGNEWY for your help.

Maybe one noob question, but I'm struggling to find a solution.

Do you have the following file in the DCS folder ?

./Mods/terrains/Nevada\terrain.cfg.lua

I have this file for the 1.5.5 but not the 2 OpenAlpha. It looks like the log file ends at the call of this .lua. Maybe it is related.

New behavior after a fresh reinstall.

I disabled my Antivirus and downloaded the game. I installed the Nevada map and only this module. I tried a quick mission with the SU25-T and it worked !!!

From there I downloaded the other modules I tried to the launch a quick mission. Sadly, the game crashed during the loading, the same way as before.

I attached the log file when I successfully launched the SU25-T mission.

There are a lot of errors I didn't get before, I hope this is the clue to solve my problem.

Just for your info, if you wan't to double check that the NEVADA terrain is installed correctly, I have posted my Nevada terrain directory structure with total sizes shown for directories and files, check if you have the same.

Size on disk difference may be due to ntfs cluster size, which is not a problem.

Both of you should create an empty txt file and screenshot the properties.

I did a complete reinstall of Windows. Now everything works like a charm.

It's quite brutal, but at least it worked.

thanks for letting us know
