Ironhand
Hi folks, Just a quick note to let you know that there's a new tutorial on my website: Anyone who has spent more than 3 seconds in a RUSFOR cockpit notices the absence of a flight path marker on the HUD. For those of you transitioning from AMFOR aircraft, that lack can be especially disconcerting when making a visual landing. This tutorial walks you through the steps of a successful landing sans ILS with a short final. The elements of a successful landing are discussed. The aircraft flown in this instance is the Su-25T. You'll find it on the "Flight Basics" page. Please read the ReadMe. EXTRAS :: Script, base mission, saved mission, and ReadMe included. Skyhigh
Hey Ironhand, first to thank you for your time and effort to make such videos which are, i am sure, helpfull to many LO players. I watched your video and really helped me to understand some things about landing, just have one short question i did all like you said 260km speed and landing was smooth just my chute wont open. I kept on pressing "P" key, should i hold to it or "press release"?? Thx.

I kept on pressing "P" key, should i hold to it or "press release"?? Thx. It's: Press. Release. There's no need to hold it. Are you sure it's not deploying? Or are you forgetting to set the throttles to idle first? If you don't set the throttles to idle, you'll blow the chute. Check to see if the little door in the tail cone is open. If it is, then the chute is being released and shredded by the engine thrust (assuming you're at landing speed). If it's closed, then check your Input options and make sure Chute Release is set to the "P" key.
