ebabil Posted December 14, 2016 Share Posted December 14, 2016 Hi, I have bought an Asus 27" VX279H IPS monitor to replace my old 23" TN monitor. Beside its beautiful looking in shape, i have a ver frustrating problem. Darker scenes like night environment in gaming, corners of the screen looks whiteish. very hard to see objects even cockpit itself. Is it a calibration or setting problem or is it normal? Can asus IPS users help me? cthulhu68 Posted December 14, 2016 Share Posted December 14, 2016 I just bought an Asus 27" monitor and first thing I noticed was how ridiculously bright the picture was. I had to adjust brightness way down and lessen contrast. That may help eliminate your problem. If not I'd get a refund or exchange. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

BitMaster Posted December 15, 2016 Share Posted December 15, 2016 Hmmm, doesnt IPS usually have a better black than TN and others ? I use both but only the Asus in sig for gaming that has no IPS. Have you installed the *.inf driver for your monitor. That may help a bit by adjusting the color intensity and other settings. Apart from that, I think IPS is good for many things but not gaming IMHO.
