I could OC my card some more, and squeeze some juice out of the GPU for maybe 100 points, and put the mip map quality in the drivers to perfomance but this is what I get on my full time 24/7 OC across the board.

Alex,

Your Conroe is killing my little, hard working AMD 64 3200+!

hehe well the tables have turned, Intel takes the crown for now, AMD the back seat.

Your still set though ;) You got a good rig there.

You are absolutely right. My next build will be Conroe. You choose right with 6300. I will do the same.

Thanks.

Holy cow, I didn't realize my computer is a dinosaur already. I just ran 3DMark06 and did the first 2 graphic tests and the 2 CPU tests. My score was 573. I submitted my results online in order to compare to other systems. Out of 14 systems similar to mine, I ranked 11th. Out of all the computers (many many thousands) mine was one of the slowest. The highest score was from a x6800 and it had a score over 16,000. Anybody else have any numbers to report? My system specs are listed below...

P4 2.4 GHz

1 Gig DDR ram

ATI Radeon 9800 Pro

My scores in 3D mark 2005 were pretty bad, are 2006's lower for the same given machine?

I can only remember my CPU score wich was in the range of 850, but the overall score was so bad it lead me to beleive something was wrong with the benchmark not liking something in my system.

I just ran 3DMark06 on my 17" Dell E1705 laptop. I knew the graphics card was not very good, but I was curious to see how the CPU would fare. Here are my scores:

Graphics: 84

CPU: 1365

Score: 184

My specs are

Intel T2300 processor

Intel 945GM graphics

1 Gig DDR2 Ram

I'm not gonna run 3DMark'06 cuz I'll just die in shame. It will burn my system anyway. I'm not even sure if it will work, forgettaboutit.

Yes, the tests gets progressively harder each year. And with an older graphics card you are going to get a really low score. Especially with an ATI card that doesn't support pixel shader 3.0.

This overall test in no way translates directly to LOMAC performance. CPU scores should be given much more weight in determining the overall score to translate to LOMAC performance.

^^^^I dont think it even translates into normal games either. My PC runs HL2 with almost everything maxed out like a breeze.

There is also the fact that 99.9% of the games today and within next 2 year are single thread.

Thus for all the duel core guys divide your CPU score by 2 and you got real lomac CPU performance.

FX-55 @2.7Ghz has only 1024 cpu score 3dmark06 which is a disappointment

FX-55 @2.8Ghz gives 1061cpu score 3dmark06 (100Mhz extra gives only 37 cpu score extra)

But anyway this doesn’t reflect RL performance which is for my standards still acceptable in 16x12.

Until something comes out with 2100+ CPU score for 1 single thread, I am not impressed and stay with my stuff.

With the release of BS I will fly with 0xAA and 0xAF so that will help I guess :D .

Divide your CPU score by two and what you get is real 3dMark06 performance...that has just been divided by two! LOL

At any rate... 3dMark06 is indeed a real bitch to run, especially the CPU tests. The only real value of 3dMark03-06 is the online database that allows one to compare your kit to very similar kit.

Well, that's a good question because I've never disabled crossfire and run 3D 06 on it :D

There is also the fact they don't make an XTX that is the master card therefore the XTX is actually down clocked a little because the XT is the master card. :S

All in all, I'm very happy with my set-up as I can play BF2 and GRAW on MAX settings with no problems, and the XFi is fantastic with a Medusa headset plugged in :D

Not had a chance to test this set-up with LOMAC yet and not sure if I actually will, I've not installed it yet, as I'm a bit wary of starforce (even though I have 4 keys left) I don't like the reviews starforce got, heard it's not compatible with some CD/DVD RW's - mines a Plextor. :(

At the risk of being an utter pedant, you're stament which seems to make sense is technically really quite innacurate. I feel obliged to point out that even small, slightly complex programs these days are comprised of multiple threads. LOMAC uses multiple threads. For the most part you would be a fool to write a piece of software not based upon threading.

There is also the fact that 99.9% of the games today and within next 2 year are single thread.

Anyway my 3 year old system (see specs) reboots with 2nd CPU test with OC @2.8Ghz.

My old FX-55 without OC (2.6Ghz) has only 1024 cpu score 3dmark06 which is a disappointment

But anyway this doesn’t reflect RL performance which is for my standards still acceptable in 16x12.

Until something comes out with 2100+ CPU score for 1 single thread, I am not impressed and stay with my stuff.

No it does not. Unless you have facts to prove me wrong.
