Esac_mirmidon
It seems that Normandy map at this moment is quite small but i hope like Nevada, in future updates it could be expanded. I miss some airbases East normandy coast to make some room between Allied-Axis front line in July 1944 like Calais or Le Havre. Right now we have only Evreux at the East side. But if ED could make grass airstrips working the problem could be of less importance. Good start point but the missing english coast, no east german bases except Evreux and the small size of the map are handicaps right now. Talisman_VR
Many thanks for the update. Gosh, we are so close to almost seeing the South coast of England. So close that it hurts to see it is not quite there. Good luck with the project. Happy landings, 56RAF_Talisman

Roadrunner
thanks for the map wags. i would have a question though, has the ED team already decided in what DCS version (DCS: Alpha, Beta or Stable) they release the normandy map first? regards, RR [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] "There's nothing to be gained by second guessing yourself. Captain Orso
From what I've read, the Normandy map is only conform to the 2.x EDGE engine, and will only be released after 1.5 beta, with the new Caucasus map, and 2.0 alpha, with the NTTR DLC map, are merged together in 2.5. Whether there will be a 2.5 alpha or beta, or ED goes directly to GA, I haven't read. When you hit the wrong button on take-off System Specs. From the latest newsletter: We have determined that the DCS World 2.5 update will not be available in 2016 as we had earlier hoped. This is mainly due to additional work needing to be done of the Caucasus map update, and we don’t feel it can be accomplished within the next two months at a high level of quality. Before we can complete this map update, we first need to finalize and release both the Nevada map update and the Normandy map. Those, along with the Spitfire, are now our highest priorities. Once the Nevada update and the Normandy map tasks are complete, our map team can return to the Caucuses map and move the 2.5 closer to an Open Beta release. So Normandy will come before the merge according to current plans. Skjold
Thanks for sharing the progress, looking forward to the map! The map clearly should includes the channel islands as they would be fairly centrally located. At least in low detail? It does not make sense that major geographical features of the area is completely missing.

Is not the English coast on the final map ?? English coast was not part of the kickstarter plan. gospadin
definitely needs Southern England and Calais edit: "need" is strong, but it just seems weird to not include it. Essentially, there's no way to do a scenario that includes pre-invasion content without air-starting every asset. Anything prior to June 1944 doesn't make sense with the map as-is. It needs lots of stuff, heck I would like to see all of Europe modeled, but current plans are to full fill the kickstarter... what may or may not happen from there isnt determined yet.
