[REPORTED]Slats no longer deploy

DefaultFace

Recommended Posts

Since the update yesterday the slats no longer deploy. Tried it at multiple speeds and altitudes and they never come out. Not sure if it's only the visual model but since the changes in turn performance are pretty drastic since the update I'd assume they aren't being factored into the flight model either.

I think alot of people would appreciate some sort of info from the devs about what all was actually changed in the 109 FM and why, considering the changelog was somewhat vague.

The plane is wobbly as hell since the update where they listed changes to the control surfaces.

I commented this in another thread:

The wobbly feeling is at all ranges. Less at high speeds, more at low, but this was the case before as the 109 was more stable at higher speeds. It almost feels like the control surfaces deflect more for smaller movements of the stick. I think the rudder might have the same issue just less pronounced. I had to set a curve on pitch and roll to 20 to make it somewhat comfortable to fly and I never use curves. I'm not saying it's unflyable as I was able to go 5-0 last night but for someone who has flow this plane as much as I do a change like this is pretty drastic. I hadn't seen anything posted or discussed that a change was warranted or requested and coming out after the full release version is strange. As Defaultface pointed out in another thread, the slats may not be deploying either. I did a quick check of my video from last night and it least visually that may be true (hard to see on my phone).

I tried to deploy them too, and confirm it.

Before last patch slats worked perfectly (their animation).

From what Schnare said in the other thread I think it goes above and beyond just that. To me it seems like airplane FM got reverted to something early in Beta.

The roll rate increase, more elevator authority. It reminds me of this:

can we close the thread ?

I think the "bugreport" was the goal of this thread and therefore it can be closed :D

We don't know atm. Most people say it 'feels' like it's not just visual but we all know how much scientific value our feelings have :P.

Only definitive answer can come from ED.

What I noticed yesterday in a quick fly was pulling stick @400Km/H to get to stall you lose your speed (no slats of course) but once 200Km/H is reached you can be there for ever, turning 200KM/H with full stick back without stalling. I don't think that was like that, nor I know that should be correct or not but feels weird you cannot stall at all.

Didn't you have your left wing also suddenly losing any lift? I did the same as you (for me, it was a case of a complete newb taken pants down in MP by a 'stang, I couldn't get a visual so simply pulled stick for a right turn as much as I could and extending flaps.... the usual "Oh shit" newb reaction ;) ), and after reaching the 200kph mark in the right turn, the left wing just dropped and simply stopped my turn. The plane just got back on horizon level, and didn't stall, just stopped the turn. No complete stall ever occured. Though the consecutive occurences of this, I eased on the stick, so I may have prevented the stall myself here.

Negative, rock solid. But it feels even weirder because I use a lengthened Warthog and holding it full back with no consequences is odd. It even made me check all the config just in case something got changed, simplified or whatever, but no .

i experienced wingdrop only if i used flaps ... no wingstall without flaps ...

i will try what manowar said(no stall at 200km/h) asap... if thats the case - i stop playing until fixed!

(i had the same with the c101 ... i didnt fly the plane since then ... its a no-go IMHO)
