Nah, it must work, I do it all the time when transferring assignments between my stable, OB and Alpha. What are You trying to do anyway? Copying the game to other PC, or creating second install with another version?

i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.

or, if you changed hardware, your USB ID's change

you have to 'import profile'

go controls, highlight a spot on for instance the joystick column > import profile < find your last

<..>\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input\A-10C\joystick\Joystick - (maybe)HOTAS Warthog {(this ID obsolete when hardware change >> ) xxxx B8AFA370-1A90-11e6-8001-444553540000xx}.diff.lua

et voila, DCS official bindings import, do same for throttle and rudders

if you look in the directory, you'll have now 2 files with different USB ID's

(I change DCS profile name with every update, so I have lots of backups)

I save a Master Copy of ALL of my Profiles/Bindings on a completely separate Drive. I load profiles from that drive.

So regardless what updates do, I have access to non-corrupt files on my other drive.

In the master copy profile folder, I have a sub folder for each MOD where I save profiles for each of my controllers (HOTAS, Pedals and TIR).

edit:

if you had 'modifiers' you have to redefine them, import won't (bad)

Excellent idea, think I will start doing the same thanks.

Here are a couple screenshots to show how I do it (as described in my previous post).

DCS is installed in C: Drive (default) and everything else to do with DCS, whether is Profile Config files, downloaded mods and missions etc ... are ALL on a different Hard Drive.
