The idea that the people who made helios contribute more to the dcs community than your ignorant spreading of nonsense isnt laughable

As a DCS server admin of 10 years and serving the FC/DCS community with servers, stats and events, I'm quite offended by your comment. I won't even comment on the rest as you're not making any sense...

People are taking this way to personal. I can see the "ban hammer" coming soon if people don't chill out.

 

Lets see what unfolds, hopefully things don't go the route of being to controlled so mods like re-skinning vehicles/weapons, helios, tacview, lotatc, Frenchy’s NVG Mod, Kuky's mods, Ricardo's A-10C pit etc aren't affected but until we know more people should just relax.

I use Leavu3 and I really don't see why so many are flipping out by it. It does give guys using it a slight advantage. Running 4 monitors I would think gives me a slight advantage as well. IMHO its not breaking the MP environment.

 

I don't want ED to make a mistake by hurting guys that have lots of money and time into mods/cockpits because a small group of people don't like a program called LeaveU3.

 

ED has two communities to please, The module and FC3 community. Good luck as these are very different customers.

 

Just please don't do something because a small amount of players want their way.

 

As far as IC. I am for it. Just give admins options. Others will agree or disagree with me, Please don't go all internet troll though. I will not reply so you get last word... I don't care :thumbup:

And they won't. Next patch will allow server admins to disable certain self-exports (i.e. sensors, blocking LEAVU3 and similar) while keeping panels and switches working in our home-pits. Everyone has to chill.

I do also have home pit, I use HELIOS.

BUT (!) What does it have to do with integrity checks anyway?

Very interesting thread I must say. My two cents

If the addon provides a process or system that actually exists in the aircraft that is presented in game allow it. I read a few pages back that people try to lump in Track-IR and HOtas systems into this discussion. Track-IR just supplements a view system that exists for all aircraft already in game. All Aircraft have in game HOTAS systems. The only cheat here would be the number of buttons on the hotas. If there was an F-16 in game and DCS did not model the HSD but was provided by Leavu would people be upset?

The presence of our HoggitDev A-4 module triggers the "impure client" and won't let me join protected servers. I have no way to generate the protected manifest file. =\ I have to uninstall it every time I want to take a break from development. Annoying...

As a tester I have 5 copies of the sim on my computer (plus release). In your case, developing a module, perhaps you should install a second copy for just that.

AFAIK adding any new units, air or ground does this as of right now. My workaround is JSGME, but I'm not quite sure if that will work in the A-4's case. Maybe?

Oh yea, it works just fine.

 

Sith: My productive "feature request" is to allow server admins to have a way to decide which mods are mandated for their servers, and which mods are not. I should be able to allow the missile mod, and allow new aircraft, without allowing changes in visibility if I choose.

 

Some kind of specification language:

As a tester I have 5 copies of the sim on my computer (plus release). In your case, developing a module, perhaps you should install a second copy for just that.

 

Yup, I have 3 copies and typically create a 4th on patch day.

 

Is the manifest something that only ED/official partners can generate?

S = SPARSE(m,n) abbreviates SPARSE([],[],[],m,n,0). This generates the ultimate sparse matrix, an m-by-n all zero matrix. - Matlab help on 'sparse'

My guess is as follows:

global: LoGetObjectById, LoGetWorldObjects

sensor: LoGetTWSInfo(), LoGetTargetInformation(), LoGetLockedTargetInformation(), LoGetF15_TWS_Contacts()

local: the rest
