Oculus Rift with DCS World Discussion

I'm starting to wonder if I'll regret shelling out on Touch.

If it means we can end up reaching out in the cockpit to flip switches etc, I'd be very happy (even if it takes a while to implement) - but at the moment I'm thinking that £190 would get me a couple of nice add-ons to my sim controller selection.

I wonder the same. But it seems you have to hold the touch, this means you have to remove your hand from the hotas, take the touch(while you have the rift on you so you cant see too much) then do what you do, leave it and get the hotas again, I think a good button box whith rotarys and switches placed on a proper position is better investment for DCS specificaly.

But there would be other good stuff for touch like shooters etc...

My 2 cents..

I thought the same until I bought and tried Vive's controller. It's so freaking accurate that it's VERY VERY different from my Leap experience. It's just NATURAL.

But I liked Rift's performance better, so I returned the Vivie. However, I will not be buying the touch until DCS supports it.

But remember, IRL, you would take your hand off HOTAS to manipulate the switch. So in our case, it would just be grabbing the touch to manipulate the switches.

But that's if you have very switch in a switchbox. For those who don't this is a great workflow.

But the hand motion is much more intuitive than the mouse. It's hard to explain, until I tried the Vive controller. It is different. I just can't translate it into words well. I guess the best way to think about it is: You don't have to think about it because it's an extension of your hand.

Oculus question

For the life of me I can't get DCS to play full screen on my desktop as I'm flying with my Oculus. I've been trying to record my flight in real time, unedited using Nvidia's GeForce Experience, but my desktop screen if not full. I've tried everything to make it full screen but no luck. Does anyone have the fix for this?

Do you have the same problem though? Desktop plays the game in a vertical sliver of the screen, not in full screen?

left alt and enter buddy this makes it full screen for me on the desktop. but it stretches.

Thank you... this helped me our to getting my DCS 2.0 back to before the latest update, which had all but broke my DCS game play. Awesome piece of software... You can launch DCS with or without Oculus with a simple selection. You can install and uninstall modules with ease.

The Window on the Desktop is merely a mirror of the left eye,

ALT+ENTER Will Fullscreen the window but stretch it horizontally (but it will allow you to click everything without interference from Desktop elements.

When in Fullscreen Applications might not be able to record the picture. (OBS Etc).
