The amount of work and effort that went into what is very high quality models and map, better than anything we have really seen in a flight sim cost a lot of money. They need to return on that, they are already giving away a number of maps and unit packs with the Kickstarter. This is the way it is, its not going to change. People that want a WWII experience will want both. This is how they are going to be offered. Lets move forward from that, please. Flipped through several pages of news and can't seem to find an answer: was wondering if release (or preview, beta , whatever ED calls this) of Normandy theater consolidates it with other theaters into 2.5 . If you don't get it in pre-purchase then it will be $60 which is the price of a new module that is not on sale. If you don't want to cough up $60, then I imagine DCS will put it on sale in the future (I would certainly assume as a bundle), though you would need to wait for a while before that sale I'm sure. I get that people dont like to pay for the AI units, and it irked me a bit at first too. But then I realized they poured tons of work hours into the new modules (that most will be playable as Combined Arms it seems). That plus the fact that it is just as expensive to get the bundle as a new module makes me not care about it as much. If you're willing to buy the upcoming F-18 or any new module (which will most likely be the same price), why not get the bundle? Just because you could in theory split the purchases of the map and AI units, and pay more by doing so? Seems a bit petty. Anyways, take what you will from my post. I will not respond to anyone who quotes me in a confrontational way because this is quickly going down a flame war path. I will leave with the fact that I have been waiting for this for a long time and I have no issues buying the bundle and playing it as essentially a brand new WWII simulator game.
