THESE MISSIONS CAN BE FLOWN AS ATTACK ONLY. SEAD, HELO, AND FIGHTER TASKINGS WILL SCALE TO THE NUMBER OF PILOTS PRESENT. THE NEW SOVIET REPUBLIC, MISSION ONE: ARRIVAL In October of 1996, a massive coup was staged within the Russian armed forces. This new radical military faction, calling themselves the New Soviet Republic, has demanded a reunification of the region under the leadership of their General Puchevsky. While the exact origins of the NSR are unknown, their promises of a return to the former glory of the USSR have convinced many to support their cause in spite of the violence they have used to achieve their goals thus far. Over the past several months, an escalating series of military raids has led Russia to request assistance from NATO forces. NSR forces have captured several key airbases and have effectively cut Russia off from much of their Southern border. NATO forces are arriving at Sochi today to establish a base of operations in the volatile region along the Russia-Abkhazia border. NSR forces control much of the nearby territory, and have been testing Sochi's defenses as well as executing an unrelenting series of attacks on forces stationed in the nearby city of POLYANA. NATO is hopeful that their presence will act as a deterrent to further attacks along the border. 11/04/1997 **USAF FORCES: ARRIVAL** Western coalition aircraft will be arriving in the theatre today, as well as several C-17 cargo planes, an E3 AWACS, and a KC-135 tanker. Aircraft will enter Russian airspace near Anapa-Vityazevo and continue along the Black Sea coast to Sochi-Adler, where they will land and begin establishing our base of operations in the region. Despite plans to fly straight to Sochi-Adler, a faulty hydraulic system in one of the C-17s forced USAF aircraft to land in Ukraine for repairs. In light of our now obvious arrival, your aircraft have been armed in the event of hostile activity. **A-10 TUSK FLIGHT:** Accompany USAF aircraft to SOCHI-ADLER. In spite of NSR efforts to impede the operation and gain further footholds, NATO and Russian forces were able to retain control of both Sochi and Krasnaya Polyana, beating back multiple NSR offensives. After the attack on coalition forces at Sochi, many NATO nations have pledged to send additional military aid. Several ADA pilots have arrived at Sochi and begun assisting in defensive operations. *********OPERATION RIDEALONG******** In spite of the NSR's efforts, NATO forces have successfully deployed to the Sochi region. Our forces were able to beat back the NSR attacks at Sochi and Krasnaya Polyana, severely weakening the NSR's hold in the Western Caucases. Our objective this morning is to ensure that a Russian convoy inbound to resupply Sochi, callsign BOUNTY, arrives safely. NSR forces based at Gudauta have continued to prod at Sochi's defenses, and ammunition is running perilously low. Several fuel trucks and Ural-375s transporting ammunition, as well as additional air defenses, should be arriving within the hour. You will relieve a flight of 2 Russian Su-27 and 2 Su-25Ts which have provided escort until this point. Rotary flights will transport a USAF JTAC, callsign BOUNTY 1-1, to join the convoy and coordinate support efforts. Once BOUNTY 1-1 is aboard BOUNTY, they will continue their route to SOCHI-ADLER. The coastal road Bounty will be travelling on will be codenamed SHEPHERD. Several key bridge crossings will also be included in your flight plan, codenamed BLACKSNAKE, ANACONDA, BOA, COBRA, and VIPER. CAS and CAP flights will orbit BOUNTY's route to neutralize any threats to the convoy. Contrary to our hopes that a NATO presence in the Sochi area would deter attacks, the NSR have only increased the tempo of their raids since our arrival. Several platoons of NSR armor have crossed into the Sochi region through weakened border defenses, and may be planning to attack Bounty. It is vital that our defenses are resupplied before we're overrun. To this end, all coalition assets stationed at Sochi are being tasked with the protection of Bounty during the final leg of their journey. LOADOUT: Cluster munitions are restricted to minimize civilian casualties. Your aircraft has been equipped with a suggested loadout for this op. THREAT: NSR armor groups consisting of BTR-80, T-55, and BRDM type vehicle groups have reportedly entered Russia proper. NSR troops and supporters have also openly attacked other convoys in the Sochi region. Extreme caution is advised. NSR SAM systems remain operational at Gudauta, Sukhumi, and Vody, including SA-6, SA-10, SA-11, and SA-19 units. THE NEW SOVIET REPUBLIC, MISSION THREE: OPERATION HOMETOWN BACKGROUND: NATO has established a strong presence in the embattled Sochi-Adler region, pushing back major advances at nearby Krasnaya Polyana, as well as the airfield itself. Following the successful delivery of critical supplies, including ammunition for Sochi's air defense systems, coalition forces are finally ready to go on the offensive. BRIEFING: With our recent victory in Krasnaya Polyana, and the successful resupply of coalition forces in Sochi, we have been coordinating with defenders in Polyana, who have been preparing to push back into Esto Sadok and recapture the area from the NSR. It is believed that a high-ranking NSR official has been coordinating the attacks on Polyana, and is still in the area. Our intention is to force the commander to flee, and track him back to an NSR facility deeper in the canyons. We believe this camp has been the origin of the bulk of the armor used in the Polyana attacks. In the days since our arrival, the NSR has continued a troubling buildup in the region. Coalition forces have been unable to ascertain the exact location of this facility up to this point, due to the presence of a forward combat outpost approximately one mile northeast of Esto Sadok, cutting off their advance deeper into the canyons. This outpost is also a primary target in today's operation. Once we have pushed the NSR out of Esto Sadok, and learned the location of their mountain stronghold, coalition forces will execute a coordinated strike on the compound, destroying all combat-worthy vehicles and facilities. Heavy resistance is expected. Once we have begun the attack on Esto Sadok, it is very likely the NSR will send reinforcements. It is imperative that we destroy the NSR communication equipment in Esto Sadok prior to engaging other targets, to prevent the Commander from alerting the main encampment of the impending attack. PRIMARY OBJECTIVES: Destroy NSR comms at Esto Sadok FIRST Push NSR forces out of Esto Sadok and secure the region Destroy the NSR forward outpost in the canyon North of Esto Sadok Locate and destroy the main NSR base camp in the canyons North of Esto Sadok THREAT: NSR CAP presence remains significant in the Maykop region. Long-range SAM sites remain online at Gudauta, Sukhumi, and the NSR-controlled territory to the East. At Esto Sadok, the NSR has established several fixed and mobile AAA emplacements in and around the town, including a Sborka EWR and several Shilkas. A SAM launch at a passing cargo plane was reported, but the source has not yet been identified. The NSR's forward outpost in the canyons is reported to have light AAA and armor guarding it. The main NSR encampment is a complete unknown, but expect a significant armor presence. The presence of additional anti-aircraft systems is likely. feefifofum
Update logs NSR01: V1.4 UPDATE: -Corrected trigger bug leading to enemy fighter groups not being recognized as neutralized if they were damaged and returned to base. This could potentially lead to the 2nd half of the mission not starting. V1.5 UPDATE -Added Su27 flight which will also trigger A-A tasking. If no pilots are flying US or Russian fighters, A-A tasking will not trigger. -Corrected Chevy being reported as shot down after landing safely V1.6 UPDATE -Added smoke markers on friendly units during 2nd engagement to reduce blue-on-blue incidents -Corrected timing on some lines of VO V1.7 UPDATE -Adjusted enemy fighter AI behavior to be less interested in the cargos and more interested in the player flights V1.8 UPDATE - No, really this time. Further adjusted enemy fighter AI behavior. Oh how I miss client groups being recognized in MP... V2.0 UPDATE: -Added CTLD/CSAR functionality (thanks to Ciribob, Grimes, and Speed!) -Added UH-1H to Sochi -Loadout restrictions now on the honor system; Sochi is now fully stocked V2.5 UPDATE: -F/A-18C CAP and CAS slots added -AV-8B slots added -Composition of enemy groups updated V2.6 UPDATE: -F-14B slots added NSR02: V1.1 UPDATE: -Adjusted starting position of "tunnel mover" group to resolve AI pathing issue V2.0 UPDATE: -Added backup groups if friendly EOD becomes stuck V2.5 UPDATE: -F/A-18 CAP and CAS slots added -AV-8B slots added -Triggers and pathing updated for 2.5 compatibility V2.8 UPDATE: -F-14B CAP and CAS slots added -removed 2.5.5 incompatible objects NSR03: V2.1 UPDATE: -Triggers and pathing updated for increased DCS 2.5 compatibility -Scenery objects removed in enemy camp -AV-8B flights added KNOWN ISSUES WITH NSR3 V2.1 -Scenery objects not removed for MP clients. This renders the mission more or less unplayable but I figured I'd post the version with the prep work done as long as I was updating. Once object removal is functional in a multiplayer environment this should be good to go, if not close -Some AI pathing issues remain due to the presence of scenery objects -No F/A-18 slots added at this time. Once the mission is functional in MP these will be added and I'll update again Edited July 2, 2019 by feefifofum THE GEORGIAN WAR - OFFICIAL F-15C DLC

feefifofum
Two exceptionally manly A-G strikers might have a chance if you modify the weapon loadout to include additional CBUs, though things are definitely going to get hairy. :) THE GEORGIAN WAR - OFFICIAL F-15C DLC

BaD CrC
So is it OK if we fly this mission only with choppers on the russian side or are we gonna be wiped out by ENI fighters without an air cover? https://www.blacksharkden.com http://discord.gg/blacksharkden
feefifofum
Fighter and SEAD taskings will not occur unless a player is detected in an F-15C or Su-25T at mission start. These are the only specific aircraft with triggers associated with them, so feel free to add flights as desired. I haven't tried that particular configuration but a pack of KA-50s probably have a great shot at completing this mission. :) Now, that being said, where it truly shines (if I do say so myself) is when all flights are present and the full force of the enemy is in play. spaceraver
The idea is nice, but why are there no Russian AF planes involved? Chance of Blue on Blue? Or just the fact that it's a Western Campaign with Russian support? Not saying it's un-plausible, but the chance that Russia would not send its own fighter to the region are small. You could give us some more background story to explain. :D Anything with a Rotary Wing is fun and challenging. Use SRS radio. feefifofum
There are Russian AI aircraft which come into play under certain conditions. The concept of this campaign was intended to allow for all modern flyable airframes in DCS as requested by my VFS on a mission to mission basis. At the time Mission 1 was written, no one asked for Flankers/MiGs/etc...consequently these airframes are not present outside of AI. Feel free to swap Eagles for Flankers/MiGs as desired, you will just need the units referenced in the trigger (Eagle 1 for 2-ship fighter tasking, Eagle 3 for 4-ship) Building unit specific tasking that times itself correctly whether or not pilots are there is a bit of a challenge, so you won't see a lot of the Eastern airframes when things are formatted to allow for multiple package configurations. As it stands, this mission allows for: CAP, CAS, & SEAD (full scale) CAP & CAS only SEAD & CAS only CAS only The idea of getting a fourth RU escort tasking to play nice in there is a bit intimidating. :) If you have people flying Eagles and want Russian AC too, adding a player RU escort that takes off from Novorossisksksksks or Gelendzhik should work like a charm for linking up with USAF flights. feefifofum
Quick update...added an optional Su-27 flight which will trigger A-A tasking; this flight will not be referenced in the voiceovers, but follow the US A-A instructions and you can Flanker away. :) Also fixed Chevy being incorrectly reported as shot down after landing. knix15
Is it intentional that the su-27s can't rearm at Sochi? We made the map with only su27 for air superiority, but we had to switch back to anapa slots, and take off from there again because of the little time window to rearm. Great mission though, thanks for sharing.
feefifofum
Ahh, there were some ordnance restrictions there to keep A10s from loading up on CBUs..forgot to put the Russian AA stuff back in when I added the Sukhois, will throw a new version up a little later on, thanks for the heads up! feefifofum
Mission 2 is up! Like mission 1, it can be flown as a dedicated CAS operation. If players are detected in fighters, enemy aircraft will enter the mix. If players are detected in the UH-1H or Mi-8, dedicated tasking will be available for transport aircraft. If players are not detected in these aircraft, AI units will take off to handle the necessary transport tasking. Stonehouse
I have a free dropbox account and that works fine for me, not sure how to get it though these days as I have had it for years and used to use it to do PBEM games with a m8 in the UK. Only 2.5gb though. Also heard meganz https://mega.nz/ is ok and gives you 50GB in a free account. Others in the US might be able to advise of other fileshares that are local to you. Not mediafire though please as it spits up lots of popups and ads and tries to dump cookies etc on your pc. Definitely don't share direct from your own drives. Also just noticed that DCS user files allows a 100mb upload. Edited November 27, 2016 by Stonehouse
