Hi. Having a problem after a complete Win10 reformat, DCS reinstall, DCS Updater reinstall, etc. Never had this problem, before the reformat and reinstall, all was working flawlessly.

Whenever I try to launch DCS through the Updater (any of the options, VR On, VR Off, etc), I get an error "Important files are damaged: dcs_manifest.bin". I've tried deleting the file, doing a Clean and Repair (multiple times). Still get the same error. Oddly, if I just use the game DCS.exe shortcut, the game will launch with no problems. I also get this same error trying to launch the game through the VRKneeboard interface. Any ideas? Thanks!

EDIT: Here's the log file I get when I try to launch the game.

When I go to Aircraft Modules it only shows the 2 free modules as green (Su-25T & TF-51)

If I check the modules I own & select 'Install Seleted Modules' it goes thru what appears to be an install of the selected modules but they still show up red.

This is also the same for the installed terrains, WWII asset pack & CA that I own.

Reason for: Launching DCS world in 10 Seconds?

Hi Skate Zilla,

From a programming perspective, I wanted to know if there is a reason for the 10 Second Delay when you LAUNCH Dcs World using the DCS Updater GUI Utility?

I am perfectly happy, waiting 10 seconds. :pilotfly:

DCS Updater / Launcher Gui Utility is outstanding!

Cheers.

Launching Multiple Apps at the same time as dcs sometimes causes problems on systems with less memory, also, so apps need to be launcjed and loaded before the dcs process starts to be detected by DCS.

Please Post App Log, this was corrected a few versions back (permanetly), as previous methods relied on specific files to be present but those files changed with DRM evolution.

This is a User Permissions or Virus Scan Conflict.

Alright, I appreciate you pointing me in the right direction. I've shut down any virus protection, and tried running DCS Updater as Administrator (not sure that's how to solve User Permissions, but seemed a good place to start), and still the same problem. I've also gone into Properties, Security and checked User Permissions for both your program, and DCS itself. In both cases, I've verified either my user has full permission, or if not.....set it to full permission to test. Still, no dice.

I realize this is outside the scope of being an issue with your program, but might you have some ideas I could try to make this work properly?

Appreciate it.

I can't get over how flexible and well written this utility is.

I can't get over how flexible and well written this utility is.

Recently, I started using the handy "External Application" and "Application Settings" to Launch External Apps with DCS.

TrackIR was painless. I noticed DCSFlightPanels would launch, but when I would try to load a DCSFlightPanels Profile for a DCS plane, I would get an error:

"The system cannot find the file specified."

 --- DCSFlightpanels_error_log ---

System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception
The system cannot find the file specified
  at System.Diagnostics.Process.StartWithShellExecuteEx(ProcessStartInfo startInfo)
  at System.Diagnostics.Process.Start(ProcessStartInfo startInfo)
  at DCSFlightpanels.MainWindow.RestartWithProfile(String bindingsFile)

SOLUTION:

All I had to do was edit the Environment Variable for my local account and add the Path of the DCSFlightPanels Executable to the PATH. Just like the good old DOS 3.1 days.

Many thanks, again to Skate Zilla

FYI: In the CURRENT BUILD: 10.2.2020 you have a minor typo in Appplications Settings - there is an Extra "P"

The DCS Updater GUI Utility earned its place on my TASKBAR, a long time ago.

Keep up the great work.

How to get SteamVR to be recognized?

I love the updater! So nice to be able to update without running the sim. I have a PiMax 5K+ and of course DCS uses SteamVR but I don't see a way to access it from your UI?

The location for SteamVR is C:\Users\Scott\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Steam But I cannot browse to that folder from your UI.

As a software dev myself with over 25 years experience I really appreciate the work you put into the Updater!

Thanks,

SteamVR should be auto detected if installed.

\Program Files\steamapps\common\SteamVR\bin\win64\vrmonitor.exe

There's a SteamVR Button on the Home Screen under external apps and you can set steamvr as default in the application settings menu under default vr API

Speaking of Steam VR API, I sent you a PM which you can ignore as I started using the updater and finally FINALLY got Oculus to stop loading with DCS! I'd still like to know what switches you throw to default it to the Steam VR API but so long as Oculus does not run unless I tell it to I am happy!

Thanks for this SkateZilla!

Apologies if this has been asked before, but I'm trying to host DCS on a Win Server 2016 cloud based platform. The browser is Internet Explorer. The updater utility appears to be properly configured, is connected to the Internet and DCS Update servers, but all I get is a blank screen when I launch the local Web GUI. Any thoughts? Thank you!

Not related to my App,

But when you launch DCS in DED. Serv Mode it takes time to launch and load, then launch the web GUI.

Personal Preference, Avoid I.E at all Costs.
