JaBoG32_Chrissi
Hi, :) Since last year we expierenced some lags due to the very long distance between players and server this year we will have two servers. One server for the european and the eastern aerobatic teams (JaBoG32 Server) and a server, which is brought to us by the Virtual Thunderbirds, for the western aerobatic teams. I want to thank the Virtual Thunderbirds for the great support :) Perhaps we will also have a video-livestream that can be watched via Winamp or Media Player for those who didn't get a spectator slot on the server. We will keep you informed :D Kind regards, JaBoG32_Chrissi

Frazer
My computer isn't one of the fastest so I want to ask Chrissi to set the server graphics and other FPS eating settings on the LOWEST possible. It might be less nice to see for the spectators but when you are flying with low FPS it can screw your display up in the same way lag does. I would also like to see a clean map. No extra things on the ground. We "WR" probably going to fly a 7 pilot display and that is asking alot already from my computer. And on the end, its about the flying, not about how nice everything looks right!? Thank you Chrissi. The Thunderbirds should decide it for their self what kind of settings they take. As a spectator FPS are less important then when you are flying by yourself. Looking foward to the VFAT 2006! LawnDart
Frazer, Only the "scenes" option affects the clients and loads the same amount of scenery objects for each player/spectator. All other graphic options selected on the server have no impact on "what you see", those are whatever you select on your end to your individual taste (so that your computer can handle it)! I can almost guarantee you that all the dedicated servers used for VFAT will not run any eye candy, since it serves absolutely no purpose to have it on the server itself and thereby allows more horsepower to facilitate clients and their connections instead. I'd suggest the ded servers to use "scenes = medium" as the only "forced graphic option". As far as the mission files and static objects, I'll leave that up to someone else to address later on. There will likely be one "east mod" and one "west mod" with respective mission files as well as potentially additional "mods" and mission files for some of the aerobatic formation teams that people will need to install/uninstall in-between displays during the show days. I'm sure one of the admins can address this in the near future sometime after the registration process is finalized. Frazer
Thats true LD. The other settings don't really matter because they are not forced. But MED scene settings are too high for me (seen last year experience), certainly when we do a display with 7 planes around. It doesn't matter to me when the western server uses MED or even HIGH scenes because I would be a spectator. So JaBoG, please SCENES on LOW and NO static opjects. Thanks :D:pilotfly: Forum | Videos | DCS:BS Demo1 / Demo2 | YouTube Channel [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

JaBoG32_Chrissi
We haven't discussed about this issue yet. JaBoG32_Chrissi
Hi, Over the past few weeks i was contacted by several teams who couldn't make it to the new VFAT date. It looks like we have completly overlooked the issue, that on the airshow weekend (November 24/25) it is Thanksgiving in the US! We think it's a big fault to run the VFAT on such a big holiday and decided to move the airshow again. We are very sorry for that, but according to our scheduling all teams should be able to perform their displays at least once when we run the VFAT on the originally date: November 17th and 18th. Rehearsal: 10th and 11th New Airshowdate: November 17th and 18th For the case some teams can't make it to the rehearsal please contact me via PN! Thanks! Again our apologizes, but third time (now) is a charm! :) Kind regards, JaBoG32_Chrissi
