This is exactly why I want to buy a 3d printer and scanner. Not cheap. Will cost me about 10K+ but I want to create parts for home cockpits, etc. Also I fix motorcycles and it would help me too. I should see how much interest in parts would be on this site and others to see if it would be viable.

It's still way better value to buy from 3D printing companys as they have much better machines than you can get for 10k (plus maintenance and materials).

Ok, this was the problem:

paddle__zpsvnqiotcx.jpg

There is something called minimal wall thickness. For metal it is 0.75mm, and you can see where it was 0.5mm (red). Now it is fixed try it now.

Paddle lever for Cougar, FLCS and F22 - V2

Thank you Icarus for your feedback, that is exactly what I need. I cannot really print every version of every model, and your feedback helps me a lot.

Thank you!

I had the same problem, I broke my WH stick. A friend of mine crafted with CNC an iron made replica and it works perfectly.

If anyone interested in this replacement part, feel free to PM me, I can send you his email address for further information.

  • 2 weeks later...

Good to know that everything works fine. Please guys, just post photos of your 3D printed models.

I added a few other parts in my store:

Antenna elev. knob. for 6mm shaft

Antenna elev. knob for 1/4 inch shaft

And washer thing that goes on top of it

I wanted that it looks like this:

antena%20elev.%20knob_zpsb3nobnpd.jpg

Photo is from this post.

I think similar or same knob is also on F-15 throttle, one more reason to make it.

I am also looking to change knobs for switches on SFS throttle.

Weapon/Mode switch knob

Boat switch knob

Speed brake switch knob

If you have any suggestions please let me know.

That was probably me, I ordered the tailpiece and the lever, fully understanding that they are beta products. I'll let you know how they work out.

So the tailpiece and paddle arrived. Interestingly the paddle worked in my FLCS grip without modification, tailpiece fit perfectly too.

You know what would be useful and an instant purchase from me? A replacement nut for the tailpiece, I'm using a Gardena nut, but the weight reduction from plastic would be really useful in my setup (modified Force Feedback 2, so the lighter, the better).

I cannot print threads inside nut. Gardena has also plastic screws that weight nothing.

Add the TQS "slew"* HAT in you list. :)

* The one used with thumb, with negative "spiderweb".

Here is show a different design:

I find the default in Cougar a little awkward, when inclined your thumb touch the cylinder around the HAT...

OK, I made something, this is photo that Sokol1 posted:

This is what I made:

I used similar HAT from SFS throttle as a starting model, rest is eyeballed since I had no other dimensions.

I made it to fit PS3 thumbstick, Cougar has probably different shaft dimensions, if somebody can measure, I can make that as well. I also made 2,5mm hole that can be tapped to M3 thread.

Bellow you can se SFS HAT, on the right is PS3 thumbstick and "enclosure" that I printed, it needs some modifications, but this way it will be easy to mount it on SFS throttle.

Doh! Until yesterday had a TQS here, but send back to the owner...

Anyway the compatibility with PS2 mini-stick is desirable, as the original mini-stick used in Cougar - CTS

252A104B60NB* - was already discontinued by manufacturer.

About the 2 different "slew" HAT:

Difficult to say, but looks the "new" model dont' have the "spideweber".

EDIT - Find this picture from copy made by Splash-one-bandit* back in ~2010.

I'll snap some pics when I get home, really happy with both the design and the quality of the prints!

Do you happen to know the part number for the plastic gardena nut? Thanks!

I bought it here in Croatia for 3 Euros, and you get 2 nuts.

After nearly four weeks waiting, the steel 13 degree tailpiece finally arrived.

Big Problem. The plug does not fit in the hole and there are no holes drilled for the screws. Very disappointed. I guess I will have to spend more time modifying it. Not happy after spending $60 on it.

If you bought it in beta stage...that problem is now fxed...you need to widen the hole for connector with dremel tools and you dont need holes for screws...connector wont move out of position once you inserti stick side of connector

Apparently I did get the beta one by mistake. Not happy about that $60 error. Once it was out of beta the unsatisfactory beta option should be removed from the list of options and then there would be no mistake.

I did as you said, except I filed the plastic on the plug a little and got it installed. The steel was too hard and I'm not spending even more money on ta Dremel to fix this error.

So you got it working?

New comer, Hi from Normandy in France !!

Hi everybody,

i m new on this site. I discovered it tuesday and so i was as soon interested in many things. So i bought on Shapeways:

- 1 joystick tailpiece 13deg stainless steel

- 1 DMS knob v1 aluminium

- 1 CMS knob v1 stainless steel

- 1 paddle lever for cougar stainless steel

- 1 F-16 cursor knob spider web

Very happy because they are already in pre-production;

I am interested by replacing the "arm" of the Throttle of the Cougar in really bad plastic part which rotates on the base with a 'tube' at a extrimity and is attached at the other to the part that we keep in the hand, the throttle commands. this would be great to have in Stainless steel or steel. depending of the price naturally..

and i would be interested by replacing the 2 legs of the 2 'levers' of the Thrust of the Warthog throttle. i would necessite to cut them at their base and to fix these 'legs' maybe with glue or screw.

i did contact Mr Debolestis through Shapeways about theses 2 things for which he answered me in less than 24h00 (Soooo fast)..

i would like to know if somebody could photograph theses parts in closes view to help to produce them because i m far away of my Cougar and Warthog...aaarrgghh...Maybe someone else would be too interested to buy theses parts tooo to their beloved joysticks ;

I am sorry to hear that. I have no idea what model you ordered. Can you please post photos of it?

I said to everybody that most of my models are in beta stage and that they should order in plastic. I changed that model and removed old one but it is still in beta because I didn't test it and nobody else posted anything so far.

I mentioned in one of my post that I cannot tap holes (make threads). It is impossible to print M2,5 threads.

I am sorry for 60 US$ but it is easy fix, and you didn't pay 60 to me. I got 1$ from that sale 59 goes to Shapeways.

I know that everybody is eager to get these parts, but the hole process will take some time, I started this one month ago.

I wanted to work with community so that everybody is happy in the end.

You cannot widen the hole with dremel. Stainless steel is to strong for that tool.

I assure you that 60$ is not an error, it is easy fix and you will get something that will probably outlive your joystick.

As I said until model has 100% feedback or when I personally test it I will remove BETA status.

I have old TQS that looks the same, but that is complex part, I can probably make it but it will take a lot of testing. We'll see about that one.
