I wouldn't be so honeyed in respect of ED, I believe they plan to make some money out of it and part of the work was made thanks to us backers so yea, maybe we should all thanks them but they should do the same at least.

Snako......if you did sink money into it then you could well be entitled to some aircraft... look below.. as you can see I put 40$ into it and I can have 2 aircraft and the scenery when it comes out.

You assume that they believed they can make a ton of money on WWII planes and theatres and that if they can the additional work was worth putting off other projects.

 

A giant failed Kickstarter would have been terrible from a publicity standpoint though.

 

I hope they do make money. ED going out of business would be bad for the flight sim community. What would you replace it with? So ya, I'm pretty grateful for them picking it up AND hope they make some decent scratch from the endeavor. It goes both ways...

That part in the newsletter is about DCS World 2, meaning EDGE. Nothing WW2 specific

No, I haven't seen any WW2 Newsletters that I remember since the Kickstarter failed. I did get those but none since..

ED doesnt have access to the kickstarter pages, so no updates go through there, you can see discussion on all the latest newsletters on these forums, look in the official update section, and just basically all over the forums.

 

Pro tip though, dont come on all doom and gloom until you look around and/or ask what is going on, you will get a better response from people here, and there are many that want to help others out.

You can probably change your picks and select something that is out now if you don't want to wait. It's probably 2 or 3 months if the current release trend keeps up for the Spitfire and most likely 2nd qt for the P47. There may also be a Christmas sale sometime this month but I'm not sure on that.

I did find the newsletter signup page in the Personal Section and just signed up. So there is no way to see the past ones that I missed?

 

And is the only content released so far just some aircraft? Nothing else?

You can see the newsletters here in various places on the forums, no other content has been released besides some of the aircraft, the original deadlines imposed by RRG were unrealistic.

You can do a search on the forum for previous newsletters.

 

Current status is 2 out of 5 planes released (or 3 out of 6 if you include the already released Mustang). Spitfire will be the next plane released. Probably Q2. Terrain will come after NTTR and Straits of Hormuz. I'd say that means Q3 next year.
