eekz, is there any chance of you setting a turbulence setting for your mission? Just to mix things up a bit? :)

Current specs: Windows 10 Home 64bit, i5-9600K @ 3.7 Ghz, 32GB DDR4 RAM, 1TB Samsung EVO 860 M.2 SSD, GAINWARD RTX2060 6GB, Oculus Rift S, MS FFB2 Sidewinder + Warthog Throttle Quadrant, Saitek Pro rudder pedals.

Can someone explain to me where I can see current month to date pilot stats on BS?

Also, why can I not see myself on the list of pilots here?

thx for all the new stuff eekz:thumbup: but can we please have a ping limiter, was on the tail of a spit this afternoon but with his warping BS ended on mine and died as a result. I know it isnt the solution to all of the problem but it sure as hell is a start and 150-200 is more than generous

New mission, nice one before Normandy will come out, but how do we (Spit riders) supose to kill those tanks in Guili ? Guns dont seem to do anything to them nor the Kamikhazee atacks :(

New mission, nice one before Normandy will come out, but how do we (Spit riders) supose to kill those tanks in Guili ? Guns dont seem to do anything to them nor the Kamikhazee atacks :(

 

The main task of Spitfires becomes to acquire air superiority at low altitude over Gali, to provide a safe opportunity for P-51s to attack tanks with HVARs and bombs.

 

I guess it's something like it was in real life. Spitfires rarely were used as ground attack aircraft.

 

However I will populate the mission with some light vehicle convoys a bit later, so Spitfires will have some ground objectives if they want.

Additional information on the mission that I currently work on and hope to rlease 1st version before Spitfire release.

 

The mission name will be "Battle for Gali"

 

Today I'd like to introduce you situation descriptions for the mission.

Red situation

 

Enemy is preparing an assault on the city of Gali. Our reconnaissance reports that at least 3 Soviet tanks platoons preparing to attack the city from three directions after artillery preparation and close air support operation. Additionally they are going to reinforce the attack by additional tank platoons that have already started their movement from Kobuleti region. Enemy air bases are located at Senaki-Kolkhi, Kutaisi and Kobuleti airfield and USAF, RAF and VVS will likely perform their air operations from there.

 

We have 3 panzer platoons at the city outskirts at the moment as core of the city defence. They suffer artillery fire and eventual air strikes. Our command has sent additional tank forces to support the defenders. Also the supply of Gali defence was established lately by our ground convoys. Our air forces located at Gudauta and Sukhumi.

 

Blue situation

 

Our command is going to begin the assault operation on the city of Gali occupied by Axis forces. The main strike force is 6 Soviet tank platoons. After artillery preparation they will attack the city defences from 3 directions. Three tank platoon are located on the frontlines waiting for reinforcement and protecting artillery sites from a counter-attack. Another three tank platoons are currently on march to the frontline along with supply convoys.

 

Scout squads report that the city defences were lately reinforced with at least 3 tank platoons and 3 more tank platoons are moving to the city from the enemy's back areas. Using our air bases located at Senaki-Kolkhi, Kutaisi and Kobuleti we are able to provide air strikes on Gali defences. Enemy air bases are located at Gudauta and Sukhumi airfields. Opposition is expected.

Command has sent three additional take forces to reinforce the city defenses. Recently, the Gali defenses has been supplied by our ground convoys and air forces located at Gudauta and Sukhumi.

Our orders are to conduct air strikes on the Gali defenses using our airbases at Senaki-Kolkhi, Kutaisi & Kobuleti. The enemy airbases are located at Gudauta and Sukumi. Opposition is expected!

Apparently the "NORMANDY ANTICIPATION" is no longer there. That's a pity.

So I tried the "Battle for Gali" on the red side.

My first issue: Finding the blue tank units. Having no intelligence whatsoever, I searched in and around Gali using the zoom extensively. I found one group of tanks southeast of Gali about half-way between Gali and the river. I tried to attack it with a heavy bomb. As soon as I released the bomb, everything froze and I was kicked out with a "disconnect". There had been some very short freezes before. I connected again and dropped a bomb on one of the tanks, but missed of course. Then I tried my 20mm gun which is useless of course against MBT's. And the game froze again just as I tried to regain altitude. Game over. My ping value when I connected to the game was about 130. I have the impression that there is a problem in the Gali setup. I played Normandy Anticipation a lot and never had such problems. Or was I kicked because I attacked friendly units? Normally that should be indicated by a "Kicked" message I think.

From what I just read in the ealier posts and the fact that nobody fired at me I conclude that I was harassing one of the German tank groups. I'm afraid it will take me forever to find the allied ground forces, and even if I find them it will be very difficult to make any kill. Hitting a tank with an unguided bomb from a Bf-109 or a FW-190 takes a lot of luck at least for me. These are not tank killers and we don't have any JU-87 which could be effective with sufficient escort.

At the very least, please provide some more specific briefing info as to where the enemy units are supposed to be. In real life I'm sure the pilots had some pretty good information before they took off.

What does that mean? What's the issue with the damage model?

A very nice tip that I got from another forum. You can search the forum with this:

 

any keywords you choose site:https://forums.eagle.ru/

 

The purple part has to come before the main URL.

The orange part is the site at hand (can be any site, but in general does not work for subsections, just the main URL. But you can experiment).

 

So you can search for:

 

P-51D damage model site:https://forums.eagle.ru/

 

Changing the keywords a bit will give you other results. It is an easy way to search and it seems to give you way better results than the usual search engine in every site. You can also add quotation marks to a keyword so it will be highlighted. Or a group of keywords like "damage model", then it will search the two combined. The results may come out more specific.

I won't say much because I'm a newbie here and I could get ahead of myself :thumbup: but the topics that came out with the search will give you a general idea. It is basically it and you can research further on.

What I would like to know is will the server run Normandy missions 24/7 or will it switch between Normandy and Caucus?

 

Since the DCS build where Normandy will be availiable will not have Caucasus, I'm afraid it will be tricky to rotate. So it will be Normandy 24/7 or possibly 24/5 if Caucasus will be still demanded by players.
