I think he was talking about the difference between the new rendering engine (EDGE), and the old. Not the new MiG artwork compared to the old, as you posted.

I know, that was the whole point of analogy. I find no interest anymore in trying this amazig bird in the old world. No EDGE no Mig, thank you.

On the Russian forum, most want to wait for EDGE before the MiG-21 is released, and I feel the same way to some extent, but if it comes out in 1.29 (hopefully) then I'll be more than glad to get it :)

If EDGE is going to be released "later this year" (not soon, not 2 weeks, not one month, not 2 months means December earliest most likely) then there is no reason to delay Mig-21Bis module this far.

We want to play it (learn it till EDGE is out) and LN Simulations needs to start the revenue flowing I am sure.

Well since everyone seem to throw their opinions here, here's mine :) :

- EDGE & MiG at the same time? Pretty awesome.

- EDGE will take some months? MiG before the edge pretty please... :)

I don't see why would one not want to fly her in current engine...

Though, if LN would say restructuring code & art assets back and forth between the versions and therefore choose to stick to 2.0.0 I'd fully respect that, not without a little bit of bitterness though :P

Wishlist: F-4E Block 53 +, MiG-27K, Su-17M3 or M4, AH-1F or W circa 80s or early 90s, J35 Draken, Kfir C7, Mirage III/V

I'm happy to buy a manual you know but LN are not even giving it for free. I want EDGE as much as I want Mig but my biggest problem is that I want them together:joystick:

Are you aware of something everyone else isn't? The manual is apparently going to be packaged with the module, no one has suggested it will be sold separately.

Do you mean you want it pre-release? There is no suggestion that it might be, even though FW190-D manual draft is already out there.

I think you'll find LN will be releasing a complete package when it comes, not the "work in progress" we get from other houses.

I've got another question about the release..

Indiegogo backers were to get the DVD at some level of pledgement correct?

How is that going to be? I.e. will they also receive a serial "by e-mail" (for all intent and purpose) and have a download version accessible as well as getting the DVD at some point?

Worthy to note is that the cockpit does not look much different between EDGE and 1.2.9.

See attached.

If the outside world is what you're looking forward to, then the MiG-21 will still be on the store when EDGE hits.

Photos side by side.
