Yep, Steam purchased keys will work in standalone DCS World, keys purchased through ED website will not work on the Steam version.

I have the steam client and some non-steam modules, as well as steam modules. The non-steam modules do work for me. However, I have read that the non-steam modules won't update when you get the patch on steam. Is this true? If so, I suppose I would be better off just running the non-steam client, right?
