Save sim state for later play

Probably asked before but can we get like an option to save the mission in its current state like SAVE GAME option. At least we can start from where we left it? At base after landing preferably...

Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.

You could quit, save the replay, then watch it back on fast forward and take over just before the end. Not that replays are very reliable. Apart from that, no.

You can fast forward, just can't rewind.

my thoughts would be the game engine captures all units current location, like ACMI for each unit at the save time, then on resume, reload that snapshot. It is a shot in the dark but was worth mentioning.

 

EDIT: I could not do with replay. Its going to take time getting to saved point, maybe miss it in the confusion, also the tracks don't play correctly.

You used to be able to do this back in the days of Lock:On, it is a shame but ED must have taken it out for a good technical reason.
