Help about ship's behaviour!

Hi to all...

I am making a mission and i have a problem with the ship's behaviour.

The ship is the "Oliver Hazzard Rerry"

I set the route to the ship but i don't want the ship to engage anything along the route,from planes flying over it,ships near it or land targets.

 

I want it to follow the route and do nothing else.

 

I have tried everything...Weapons set to hold,Alarm state set to Green..but it keeps engaging planes,ships...

 

Can anyone help?

A .miz file with what to do would be grate!

I reported similar behavior quite awhile ago and I'm surprised to see it again...

 

Have you tried to "trigger action" / ie: force the action yet? I didn't know how to do that back in the day but it's quite easy. I won't bother explaining it if you've already done it. If not, I can walk you through it.

Described there... unfortunately I see my screenshot is kaput since I junked photobucket.

 

Basically, the icon you need is right next to the weapons loadout screen in your unit menu. Looks like a square thing with squigly lines on the corner- you'll see it- just to the right of the missile looking icon where you configure unit liveries and loadouts... fuel etc.

 

That's called "triggered" actions. Once you're in there you have the same kind of "advanced waypoint" options menus available. You can set these up for deployment in your trigger system.

 

Don't make the trigger occur at mission start since I don't think that's been working. Instead... do a "run once" trigger with a time more (10) condition and then do AI TASK PUSH. You can then go find the appropriate task for the unit you selected.

 

Let me know if that works? Kind of curious as well.

Are you using theTriggered option or the Advanced (waypoint actions) ?

ENO the only things i have from what you say is:

 

Perform task-->fire at point

Start Eroute Task--> empty

Perform Command--->Run script

Script file

Invisible

Immortal

Set Option--->ROE

Alarm State

 

i have tried with the "set option" as i mentioned above but no joy!

I beleive this is what is called a bug.

Possible work around if ships continue to do whatever, set the units near the ship to invisible. When the ship is allowed to attack, make them visible.

Glad it worked!

 

AI task set is the same as AI Task push, but renamed. It basically will overwrite other tasks already assign to the group.

 

AI Task Push is the same sort of thing, but it pushes the task to the start of the task queue. When the task is complete the other tasks will run again.
