chardly38
I went to start my server and I get OCZ Smart Start Bad/Backup and Replace. What (in your experience) is the best surviving SSD out there on the market. ENO
My longest running is an Intel... Samsung is my new favourite (just about everything I run now is samsung at any level... SSD, washer-dryer, monitors, TV, blue ray... etc). What can I say- they build a good product. "ENO" Type in anger and you will make the greatest post you will ever regret. What can I say- they build a good product. I have to agree. I have about a dozen SSDs (though none have failed, yet) but all of my newer ones are Samsung. Phone, tablets and TV for the flight sim rig, are Samsung as well. Buckeye
Samsung or Seagate, plenty of great experiences with both. IMO Samsung doesn't have as much of a lead in 1st place as they used to, the gap has been closed quite a bit...nonetheless, I own and love many Samsung products so I highly recommend them, especially if you are comfortable spending more than may be absolutely necessary. Aginor
I also have a Samsung, 840 series with 250GB. Until now no problems, and it was fairly cheap. DCSW weapons cheat sheet speed cheat sheet
Rhinox
It is not (only) about brand, but technology too. Bigger cells (i.e. 25nm) are better than smaller (20nm), and single level cells (SLC) is better than two-level cells (MLC) and both are better than three level cells (TLC). Aginor
What do you mean by "better"? Faster reading? Faster writing? Cheaper? More reliable? Less power consumption? I'm asking because I am very interested in SSDs, and I admit I don't know much about them. Back when I bout mine I just checked what this site said: http://ssdboss.com/ DCSW weapons cheat sheet speed cheat sheet
blkspade
I have a Samsung in my laptop and dropped it many times and still working. Samsung... The probability of surviving G-Shock (the sudden stop at the end of a fall) is something inherently common for all solid state devices, as opposed to devices with moving parts. So if any SSD does fail for any reason, dropping it would be the least likely reason for that. Sometimes you just get a lemon, but power issues can lead to premature failure. My OCZ vertex 4 is still going strong and nearing 2 years of continuous use. http://104thphoenix.com/
blackbelter
The only ssd drive I have used is a Corsair force series GT 240GB. It has served me for 26 months, and given me no trouble. It is still kicking in my gaming machine.
