as i know, ReShade have no configurator tool like SweetFX do. what method you are using when tweaking your settings? manually editing .txt file is really depressing)

Manually editing SweetFx_settings.txt, yes. Is not depressing for me... in real time you can see changes every time after save changes in settings.

You don`t need JSGME to install ReShade. Just download / extract/ start ReShade Setup.exe/ select game/ browse in DCS 1.5 OpenBeta/bin and select DCS_Updater.exe/ ReShade will fail API, don`t worry/ Select DX11 and that`s all...

After install you can copy from this post my SweetFX_settings.txt into DCSW OpenBeta 1.5/Bin/Sweetfx folder.

Hi 238thFalcon,

I set it up like you said and it works nicely. Using the settings you recommended. Looks much better than without it indeed (still a bit hazy/greyish but thats personal preference I guess).

One thing, I notice a quite considerable frame hit. FPS goes down from 80ish to abut 60ish, which is still fine of course. Is the FPS hit normal?

Hi EntropySG

That is DCS haze, we can`t avoid that.

I`m not noticed big FPS drop (as in your case), only few FPS for me and that is ok. I`m sure about FPS because i have low end PC and every FPS eater i feel and avoid it.

But about FPS hit generaly with SweetFX, yes you can have it with more (some) efects turned ON in your settings. Check descriptions for all of them.

To remove (stop) SweetFx ReSahde is enough manually delete or rename only dxgi.dll from /bin folder. Other files can stay, they will not damage DCS installation.

Total removing (uninstallation)

Select and delete:

- SweetFx folder,

- dxgi.dll (warning!!! don`t select by mistake dxgui - this is dcs file)

- dxgi.log,

- ReShade.fx

- Sweet.fx

That`s it.

that dxgi file is a .log, not a .txt. At least on my pc.

Thanks for all this info! :smilewink:

Why not set it up for JSGME? Will we lose it with updates? By the way thanks for this. Looks great.

Hi,

Here is a JSGME ready file for you:

http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/1502732/

settings are very mild, change as needed ofcourse

Cheers

Ron / S3TUP

Thanks for this. JSGME is the only way to do mods.

This SweetFX ReShade utility makes it a lot easier finding the other guy (enemy) dogfighting in the WWII community online in MP.

The Cartoon setting may sound silly, but sets up deeper contrast conditions for me. I use mostly 238thFalcon's setup, see Message #14, slightly embellished.

Find this line in your SweetFX_settings.txt file, and change the one to a zero.

#define USE_SPLITSCREEN 1 //[0 or 1] Splitscreen : Enables the before-and-after splitscreen comparison mode. (Only partially working right now)

(re: Message #25)

Thanks for this explanation. Just this sample, unlocked the mystery for me how to adjust this and the other settings in SweetFX ReShade.
