Glitch, one off, or improvement?

Just decided to replay a mission I created years ago....

 

You know how frustrating it is when you do a ramp start that AI units wait until the preceding plane is well airborne and fast exiting the aerodrome before they turn onto the runway and begin to takeoff themselves meaning rejoin takes ages?

 

Well look at the attached track, fast forward to 18:19:30 to see wingman 2 take off and watch how 3 and 4 also go in quick succession, resembling real life flight departures (that I've witnessed at RAF Lakenheath anyway...), rather than waiting ages.

 

Is this a glitch, or did the AI aerodrome behaviour get patched in the most recent update?
