Here's an example: you are flying along in your Russian flanker on the Russian team when another Flanker flies up beside you and you think nothing of it. Next thing you know he vaporises you with an R-73 and you think you were teamkilled, but it turns out it was a legit kill. It's the same with F-15s getting spiked by other F-15s on the RWR. I understand that there really aren't many planes to choose from so the mission designers put them on both sides but it's still annoying. Or perhaps there is a way to tell if the plane is friendly or enemy? IFF doesn't seem to work either. I sometimes get killed by "Friendly" dots on the radar. If he pulls up next to you to troll you then it won't matter what aircraft it is, you're already dead. Why would the RWR be a problem, either F-15s are friendly only or both friend and bandit, just adapt. Russian pilots always have to treat all radar spikes as unknown regardless of aircraft. The F-15 I prefer to be blue exclusive, but it's also a nice change to go F-15 vs F-15 from time to time. What I don't like is when each team is a mirror of the other for the sake of balance. There are really only two possibilities here: - You are using EOS and you don't know what EOS does no IFF. - The bandit snuck up to you and you never actually had him on radar. IFF doesn't seem to work either. I sometimes get killed by "Friendly" dots on the radar. I can't count the amount of time I had to recognise enemy from friendly by the paint scheme of the 10x10 pixels KA displayed on my black and white shkval tv. It's all down to Situational Awareness my good man. People who complain about F-15s being on Red, 'Generally' have crap SA and can't deal with the extra workload of having F-15s on Red. People who have good SA can deal with this very well indeed.... it just takes some practice to get your level of SA up to a good enough standard to understand what is going on around you without getting overloaded, no matter what is painting you. And yes.... if you let an enemy F-15 join on your aircraft without identifiying him first then your SA is pretty bad at the moment ;) All comes with time and practice sir! S! runny Posted June 6, 2014 Share Posted June 6, 2014 I prefer the classic eastern equipment vs. western equipment. MIGs and KA-50s are the only things that can be on either side IMO.
