where does one find the open beta once it's available?

You can either update your open beta copy if you still have it, or I would imagine they will update the link here:

Is 1.2.7 open beta still available for download? I seem to have deleted it in a moment of madness?

On the web site main page under open beta downloads. It will be a completely separate DCS: World and module install from the main installation though.

Not sure, but it maybe the same P-51D, with some slight modifications, and a 2nd seat installed behind the pilot without actually modifying the canopy size.

ie:

I think you are correct Skate. My understanding is that the Mustangs with the extended canopies are like that because they have dual control setups and needed the seat pushed further back, while based on Wags' statement the free Mustang coming out has no dual controls and basically a jumper seat in behind the pilot. This is just a guess of course and we can't know for sure until it comes out (or Wags or someone at ED gives us a screenshot), but if I were a betting man I'd say the canopy stays the same like in your link.

"Hurled headlong flaming from the ethereal sky; With hideous ruin and combustion down;
To bottomless perdition, there to dwell; In adamantine chains and penal fire"

(RIG info is outdated, will update at some point) i5 @3.7GHz (OC to 4.1), 16GB DDR3, Nvidia GTX 970 4GB, TrackIR 5 & TrackClip Pro, TM Warthog HOTAS, VKB T-Rudder Mk.IV, Razer Blackshark Headset, Obutto Ozone

okay, but Matt used the TF-51D designation

TF-51D is built with longer/extended canopy

P-51D with the crammed second backseat is not equal with TF-51D

The link is still there, I dont know if it all works, but as far as I know it does.

It works as of a few days ago, when I re-installed the beta. Of course, pretty much all of the install came from the existing up-to-date v1.2.7 on my local drive.

Installing from that link should update to the 1.2.8 OP release, when it is released I would think.

Seems to me that a trainer TF-51 would have more than a cramped jump seat but I know nothing.

sure it has more but Wags mentioned the TF-51D "with the weapons, radios and rear tank removed with a jump seat added in the back" but did not mentioned the shape of the canopy ;)

Here it is:

DCS World

Added FREE TF-51D for DCS World! This is the P-51D with the weapons, radios and rear tank removed with a jump seat added in the back. This does not include dual controls.

Non-clickable with AFM

Yeah, says who?

Read Wag's info on the TF again.

i7 7700K | 32GB RAM | GTX 1080Ti | Rift CV1 | TM Warthog | Win 10

I didn't read the whole thread, is it for sure that the TF-51 will have a clickable cockpit or will it be a FC like bird with non clickable cockpit and with AFM?

Non-clickable with AFM

This was never stated by an ED Employee.

In fact, unless you are naturally pessimistic, taking Wag's words at face value would indicate the opposite, with regard to the clickable cockpit.
