My Track IR doesn't handle Y-tracking (vertical movement) very well, but the controls menu seemingly won't let me assign a HOTAS axis to the Head-Tracker category. I would like to have some control over my vertical positioning in some situations (e.g. pulling heavy lead while still maintaining visual on the target below the nose), and my throttle has a self-centering axis, so it seems like it would be a great alternative. I even looked for the TrackIR input file so I could try transferring the commands to the HOTAS input file, but I couldn't find it anywhere. Is there any way to accomplish this? Thank you!

I finally took the plunge to buy a new gaming rig to replace my ancient PC. Since I don't feel competent to build my own I bought the top of the line Player Three Prime from NZXT. It arrived a few days ago and I spent the weekend setting it up. However when it came time to install TrackIR the installation went fine but I started having troubles as soon as I plugged in the TrackIR 5 camera. I noticed three symptoms. First, NZXT's software for controlling cooling and lighting would no longer start properly. Second, when I tried to shut down the system motherboard power (as evidence by LED's on the RAM), cooler, fans, and fan lighting all would not shut off, and the fans spun up to full RPM. This after the screen went black. Those two problems occur even if I do not try to start TrackIR itself. However if I try to start TrackIR it hangs instantly and the camera does not turn on. Furthermore, while I can kill the TrackIR UI, there is a background task that I can't terminate, even with admin privileges. So my very expensive new gaming rig (which otherwise is working fine with all of my peripherals) seems incompatible out of the box with TrackIR. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling TrackIR and the NaturalPoint USB drivers that come with it. I've checked Device Manager and all devices report they are working fine and there are no unidentified devices. I've tried updating drivers but Windows 11 always tells me I already have the latest. Since NaturalPoint has posted on forums that TrackIR needs a true USB 2.0 port (and not a 3.0 or 3.2 port with backwards compatibility) I've tried plugging the camera into all of the available USB ports. Nothing makes it work so far. It works fine on my old Windows 10 rig. NZXT says that it is a TrackIR problem even though there seems to be a conflict with their own software. The Kraken cooler is installed as a device on the internal USB 2.0 hub, which it shares with the two external USB 2.0 ports. Any thoughts about what to do are appreciated. I'm very frustrated that a state of the art gaming computer seems to be incompatible with one of the most widely used pieces of gaming hardware. The only solution I've thought of as a next step is to install a PCIe card with USB 2.0 external ports, assuming they are still available, and hope for the best. Either that or abandon TrackIR, since NaturalPoint seems to have stopped supporting it. (No software updates for years now.) But I'm not sure whether there is a good alternative short of going the VR route, which I'd rather not do right now.

Do you play DCS but you don’t have an IR Tracker or VR headset? have you thought about buying an IR Tracker or VR but you are hesitating because of their cost? Then we are on the same page. I’m in the same situation. I kept searching for alternative and found finally a very good one that is very comparable (if not even better than) IR Tracker. I presenting to you the Facial AI Tracking. I had my doubts at first until I tried it out myself on DCS. Yes, it is working just perfect. Here is how you need to set it up. it is totally free, yes, it is totally free and takes just about 5 minutes or even less to configure it. depending on how much do you want to reconfigure. Let’s start: Download the opentrack 2022.3.1 from Releases · opentrack/opentrack (github.com). Note, I tried the latest version opentrack 2022.3.2 but it contained a trojan, don’t use that one. The 2022.3.1 works just fine. Download the AI Track v0.7.01 from Releases · AIRLegend/aitrack (github.com) Run Setup and install opentracker. Unzip the AITrack and run AITrack.exe Follow the configuration instruction shown on this video (382) aitrackinstallsetup - YouTube Thant’s it, run DCS and enjoy. You might need to do some adjustment to that configuration/mapping in openTrack when you are in DCS until you are happy with it. Note: some Anti-Viruses have a webcam protection feature. I need to disable it on my machine before I started the AITrack and OpenTrack. You can re-enable the webcam protection when you don’t use them.

Hello all. I have stopped using TrackIR in favor of VR. Unfortunately, I can’t seem to delete it from the controls column. While in-game I repeatedly get an alert that TrackIR is unplugged which causes major stalls in the game. I have uninstalled the app, deleted all TrackIR folders in my users/saved games folders, and deleted the TrackIR folder in program files. I have disabled the TrackIR column in controls and tried rescanning devices in controls. But the problem still occurs repeatedly in-game. Any ideas? Thanks.

Hey all, looking at offloading some sim gear I bought early this year but now don't have the time to use! I'm looking at selling the following, happy to ship within the UK and EU, but will need to discus shipping costs with buyer outside of UK. The Virpil stuff was bought in Jan of this year and probably has 50 hours of flight time on them. The desktop mounting plate, cams and springs will be included, they aren't pictured but are in the box. The Track IR bought new in Feb from RCSimulations in the UK. The TWCS throttle was bought used in Jan and I have since fitted a bearing sled mod for smoother operation. I will include the original sled, if for some reason you wanted to change it back. For Sale: Virpil WarBRD - £200 Virpil Constellation ALPHA-R - £200 TWCS Throttle - £100 Track IR with pro clip (and basic hat clip) - £170 shipped DM me if there's any further details you want to discuss etc. Cheers guys.

At what time can we expect Eagle Dynamics to allow Tobii Eye Tracker to become "native" in DCS? I mean so, that, we have Tobii integrated with DCS in all aspects, such as during external views etc. So we can make better videos. It is not as fully integrated with native support in to DCS as, for an example, in Star Citizen. I think that ED must this work upon more because Tobii is more natural than TrackIr, and eventually will replace all other Head Track contraptions which must be worn upon the head.

For an entire year, I had no issues with using voice attack to center my cockpit view while using Track IR and now it no longer works. In fact, even without using voice attack, I can't even center the cockpit view using the num5 key while TrackIR is running. The only way I can now center the cockpit view is when Track IR is not running which defeats the purpose of using TrackIR in the first place. Note that I had the trap option for the num5 key unchecked which allows Track IR to pass the keystroke to the next application. So, at this point, I can no longer play DCS World because I have to reenter the cockpit every 15 minutes or so, and I cannot do this while TrackIR is running. I tried restoring my saved games from a backup but this didn't work, so something has changed. Can anyone explain to me why none of the center view keys work when TrackIR is running, but do work when TrackIR is not running?

Hello! I'm newbie DCS player. I want to answer a couple of questions about controls config. I came from War Thunder Sim Mode mainly and Il2 sometimes. I've take my time to optimize my control devices, I'm using TrackIR, Joystick (Logi Extreme 3D) and mouse. Regarding TrackIR, I don´t like to turn too much my head having to move my eyes a lot to see the screen (not comfortable to me). I get an ultra wide monitor and prefer to use TrackIR with 15° max on pitch and yaw angular view changes (the other 3 translational axis as usual) and transfer this movement 1 to 1 into the game. If I want to get 90° or more I use "mouse look" movements (but first translating the mouse movement to a vjoy axis and use that input into the game). As example War Thunder naturally SUM the input from native TrackIR integration and the head view analog axis command (configuring the respective vjoy axis). Finally I get comfortable, fully and precise head view control in the game (to my taste). I tried to do the same trick in DCS but I can't figure out how to achieve this goal. Saw that Head Tracker commands (recognizing TrackIR native integration) don´t allow the use another analog devices input. The only possible option is to use "Absolute Camera..." axis, like I show in the screenshot. But configuring several axis inputs don't sum... the program select or prioritize one or another. The 2 questions.... 1. Exist some hidden configurable command control behavior to sum the input of the several configured axis for the same command? 2. In order to get better response in the game... Exist a "smoothness" setting for a axis command control to avoid source jittering (from different devices qualities)? Thank for you answers or suggestions in advance...

If you change the Track-IR's pitch so that the default view is angled differently than what is set at default (for example mine is centered towards the gunsight rather than a little bit downwards), then pressing the Petrovich button resets the Track-IR position to its default pitch every time Petrovich is active. When you disable the Petrovich UI element by pressing the button again it jumps back to what you had it set to. It's like a jump every time you use it. Please fix this bug in a future patch. Thanks

Hi, How do people have their TrackIR setup with the Apache ? I find my default center point null zone to be a be a bit big - I have to 'glance' away too much to have the IHADSS look around. And zoom settings? Any tips /suggestions/examples would be appreciated. Cheers Scott

Hello everyone, After a couple of months trying every possible settings you can imagine to get a good graphics and performance at 60 fps i finally reach it. OBS: I tested it for caucasus and PG maps, and it should work fine for NTTR and WWII maps although(I don't have these maps). For Syria and marianas forget it. DCS OB Version 2.7.9.18080 My Specs: Core i5 9400F GTX 1060 6gb 32gb RAM Windows 10 PRO NOTE: You'll need of the reshade to use just one filter very important to enhance the graphic quality. EDIT: I forgot to mention, you will need to install this mod for improve your perfomance too. ( https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3317762/ ) @Luke Marqs Make exactly these settings as shown bellow. 1 - Set to ON game mode on the windows 2 - Set to ON Hadware-accelerated GPU scheduling at "Graphics Settings" on the windows. 3 - Open the NVIDIA control panel and choose Global settings tab, then set the shader cache size for 5gb or more. 4 - Change to "Program settings" tab and find to the DCS installation path on your PC (DCS World OpenBeta\bin\DCS.exe). Then set exactly as shown in the prints screen bellow for all options. NOTE: If you are having tearings, consider set vertical sync to FAST. 5 - At DCS settings choice these options NOTE: Textures: It depends what jet you are using, the f16C uses a lot Vram in HIGH option, you can test between medium and high Shadows - For more performance set it to medium, i prefer High. SSLR - To enhance the graphics ilumination set ON, better perfomance OFF. Try to test it. Full Screen as desired Terrain Shadow: very importan in FLAT 6 - Make America great again download of the reshade version 4.9.1 HERE . Then install it on DCS and chose a unique filter as shown bellow. It's very important to enhance the quality to the combination with the native nvidia FXAA, for decrease the AA blur and increase the sharpness. (Do not use the luma sharpen in reshade in this guide!!!!!) NOTE: Do not mark the box "Perfomance mode". If you need help for reshade installation or configuration, please watch some video on youtube. 7 - Close DCS and open again. That's all. I hope you enjoy it. Let me know if i helped you. Sorry for my english and thanks.

Hi all, First of all, I am completely new to DCS. I tried to do some of the initial training missions for the A10 but have found it difficult without head tracking. My question is - could my setup reasonably run VR or should I just get a TrackIR? Specs: Laptop (HP Omen) i7-9750h, 2070 maxP GPU, 32gb DDR4, 3tb NVME storage, Thunderbolt/USB-C, Mini-DP. I have a logitech X52Pro Hotas, and Cessna Pro Yoke / Quad / Pedals. I currently run a 27" 2k 144fps screen connected to the laptop. My steamVR test came back at max, with 0 frames under 90fps and 0 cpu bound frames. I am particularly looking at the HP Reverb G2, for use with DCS and MSFS. Yes I know I may have to adjust settings down a bit to make it good. Could this work, or should I just go with the "safe" option and get a TrackIR?

How to render HMCS display without change orientation?
Jacktherookie posted a topic in Home Cockpits
Hi. I'm currently working on my Home Cockpits. Since I'm not trying to use VR for several reasons, so I decided to imitate Warthog Project method. So - I'm working on Panels, and Switches.. These are doing good so far. But My problem is... I'm thinking of using TrackIR or Eyetracker for HMCS. And at the same time, I'm trying to use a projector for screen. The question is... Can I allow DCS to render HMCS display according to my head movement while overall camera orientation unchanged? -
Hi folks, My Trackclip pro for my TrackIR5 recently broke (most know they are not very durable). So I needed to source a replacement. In the UK it is quite difficult to find a reasonably priced one. Even Ebay has them at elevated prices these days. Anyway, I temp used the hat clip that also came with the original TracIR5 package but I felt it was not as accurate as the Pro clip. Dilemma! I searched online and found this site which is a small UK business (might even just be one guy! Who manufactures an affordable replacement for the TrackClip Pro! And! It is more robust for sure https://swcproducts.com/ I have mine clip tied to the original Track Clip pro which then sits nicely to the left and slightly out. Some slight tweaks to the TrackIR profile and voila, in business again. There is even a wireless version that uses a small power bank attached to the headset too. I am not an affiliate of this company but just wanted to highlight another option like the Delan Clip which is affordable and more robust than the TrackIR Pro Clip. Happy flying all!

The IRTrackStar RS Ultralight is the lightest IRTrackStar yet, weighing just 3.1oz. The IRTrackStar increases performance over the standard Trackir5 pro clip by increasing precision, removing all blind/dead spots, and provides a wireless head tracking solution with over 9hrs of runtime. Trackir5 or Opentrack with a suitable webcam is required. Check us out at Rjsimtech.com You can also checkout Overkill Simulation's review here: YouTube Overkill Simulations And a review made by the Grimreapers here: YouTube Grimreapers Please keep in mind that the lead time is typically between 3-5 weeks but does vary based on order volume.
