Delete folder %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Scripts\SharkPlanner or %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\DCS\Scripts\SharkPlanner depending on version of the DCS you are using. Restart DCS if it was running Kudos TheWay is a very cool project which enables entry of waypoints for a rather large number of DCS airframes. My initial motivation was to provide the ABRIS support as code contribution to TheWay, but ABRIS proved to be very challanging to implement within existing framework since coordinates entry can be done only non-numerically through dials. This limitation has resulted in large changes that could not be easily harmonized and tested with existing code base. Please note that TheWay remains to be the most comprehensive software for waypoint entry in DCS and is highly recommended to use for all other supported aircrafts. You can use both SharkPlanner and TheWay as long as you remember not to invoke transfer of waypoints at the same time! DCS Scratchpad provided the idea how to inject the UI and trigger it with a keyboard shortcut.

Operation Desert Thunder The year is 2017. Tensions have been brewing between the Republic of Hormuz and the Free State of Bastak for several years regarding natural gas deposits found off the island of Qesm. So far, any attempt by the international community to mediate the dispute has been rebuffed by both parties who claim the Island as their own; Hormuz because it is within their borders and Bastak due to the many of Bastak heritage who live on the Island. Sponsored by the Russian Federation and People's Republic of China, Kuban Security has been enlisted to bolster the air force of Hormuz with their JF-17 Thunders. It is hoped that this move will stabilize the situation and calm the ambitions of both the Free State of Bastak and the local insurrection by the Prophets Faithful. You are THUNDER LEAD, a veteran flight leader in Kuban Security. You and your colleagues are now the Hormuz only modern air force assets and the nations last defence against the forces that seek to disrupt peace and balance in the region. Key Features: Fly the JF-17 Thunder over the Persian Gulf as part of the PMC Kuban Security and their deployment to boost the air force of the Russian Federation ally of Hormuz. Perform ten missions such as combat air patrol, close air support, low level attack and deployment of precision munitions against a large variety of targets. Aid your allies against both a local insurgency and the unknown agenda of the western-alligned state of Bastak and their F-16C Vipers! Fly together with a friend in the additional Co-Op Campaign! As titled. This is from a simple mission I made without scripts nor any mods. Have this been observed before, or had it happened to you where the AI JF-17 that even when equipped with WMD7 pod will not employ the BRM 90mm laser guided rockets? I had it set to attack an Avenger (IR SAM) vehicle, but the AI Jeff will not shoot the BRM 90mm no matter what weapon of choice option I selected for the AI to use within the Mission Editor (Guided vs just Rockets). Weird. Anyone can chime in will be great. Lastly, I suppose it was working fine before the 2.8/2.9 updates, but it is also more true that I haven't checked their proper behavior since the major 2.8/2.9 patch update. It was back in patch 2.56 when I created this mission, but I have long since loaded, edited, and saved under 2.9 MT patch version. So I can't exact the patch when it started to behave as stated. I truly missed having the laser BRM rockets as they are accurate, and allow a standoff distance from target. Thanks in advance!

Not sure if it belongs here, but here goes. In current Open Beta in Create Fast Mission menu there is a drop-down list of available aircraft, and JF-17 is not there, neither in simple nor in advanced mode. It shows up perfectly fine in Mission Editor though. Tried removing unofficial mods, made no difference.

Hey guys, So i fly the jeff on a daily basis and i would like to know what you guys think about whether or not this is realistic. My main questionable ability of the jeff is being able to have full control when still at 70 - 130 knots whilst pulling 32 - 40 aoa Here is a demonstration: JF 17 Is The Most Balanced UFO - YouTube Then i would also like to mention the snappiness on the rudder, its feeling like it always has full authority, no matter at what speed. I just find it weird, not really a bug report just a quick message whether or not this is realistic. if it is well so be it I attached a tacview ( Regular dogfight) Jeff.zip.acmi

I am not sure when this change happened, but now the default loadout selections are not usable. The max weight of the JF-17 in instant action is 12,500kg. Two PL-5's, two dual SD-10's and two 1100L fuel tanks make up 12,541kg, just outside of the 12,500kg limit. Is this a bug, or is it supposed to be this way? I've flown with even more on my JF-17 in the past. How come now all of a sudden I am unable to load the aircraft with fuel tanks and 2x dual SD-10's?

Hey, This will probably be a long post, so please bare with me. I. As a small introduction, I am a helo pilot in DCS. Flying the Huey, Ka-50, had also some fun with the Mi-8 and of course waiting for the Mi-24P and Apache. However I am thinking of changing things a little, try something fresh, and I want to try to get, learn and spend some more time on my first multirole jet, with a similar amount (or more?) of dedication as I do to fly helicopters. Yeah, Im a big rotorhead because it was the helos that got me hooked, and I would like that it would "click" in a similar way for my first multi-role fighter. Because I love ground pounding, but I am also thinking about getting into A2A. As a side note, I also want you to know, that before I wrote this post, I finished the F-15C, Mig-29S and started the Su-27 default campaigns. The reason for that the FC3 aircraft honed my skills a little if it comes to radar, SA and weapons management. It was simply a good training ground in preparation for the clickable-cockpit aircraft, when I felt its the time to try something more advanced. The jets in scope are the F-16 which I already own, and the JF-17 that I do not own. For your information, why those two in particular is that I also own the Mirage, Harrier, A-10C II Tank Killer, F-14, Viggen and the F-18 Hornet. I am mostly a ground-pounder, and I had the most fun with the Harrier and Warthog in the past, before i switched to flying helicopters for like 90% of the time. To explain why other aircraft are kind out of scope for me is that: 1. F-14 and F-18, im not into Navy Ops. I like to take the Tomcat for a joyride sometimes, but that's it. The Hornet does not appeal to me the way how it feels, how it drives. I know it is a long legged plane that can-do-it-all and is a very well developed module, but it simply does not "click" with me. And believe me, I have tried to like it several times. It does not work. Sorry Navy, you can keep your boats and tailhooks. 2. Warthog and Harrier. Spent quite a bit of time on those two and love them, also believe it or not and it might sound funny, but they were the reason i picked up helicopters. And I am not saying this in a negative way, they simply made me realize what I like doing the most. 3. Mirage - Tried it, liked it, but did not get hooked by it. But that was a long time ago and it still does not appeal to me. 4. Viggen - I like it very much, the aspect of burning a trail in the grass with the afterburne, popping up and unleashing hell on targets were fun but in the end, the Viggen is too much of a overspecialized machine for me that requires a lot of meticolous planning. So a no go for me. II. Because of the reasons above, it boiled down to the Viper and potentially the JF-17 Thunder. So below, a bit of what kind of experience/knowledge I have about both aircraft: JF-17 Thunder I do not own it, but watched YT videos about it, read about its history, went through Chucks Guide a bit (and I was amazed about the weapons having around 120 pages...) and truth is I have started to like it very much, although I have never before heard about it and just knew it existed in DCS now. Second thing, even the glass cockpit started to appeal to me in a very positive way. And I think the most important thing, the Jeff was basically a completed module on Day 1, which is something unbelievable. It also made me tune into Deka Ironworks news, where I have heard about the possibility that a Su-30MKK/MKI or a HMD for the Jeff might be a thing. To be honest with you, it gave me the goosebumps. Now, that you know it, a few questions/remarks from my side about the JF-17 that made me wonder if I should pick up this aircraft. Those questions are more about the practical usage, and the way how the aircraft feels to the pilot than dry numbers and systems 1. I love small aircraft, and I know that the pylon layout is quite small, but the ordnance that the Jeff can carry is huge. I do not mind having to think about what to take on a mission, but wanted to ask is it still doable to do a bit of self-escort? Of course depending on the scenario. So here is where the fuel thing comes into the topic. 2. I know the fuel capacity (even with 3 bags) is almost 10.000lbs (correct me if i am wrong) + you get a probe for A2A refueling. However, I wanted to ask, how is the fuel management for longer flights? Lower overall tank capacity does not necessarily mean that the Jeff eats through fuel like the MIG-29 does. Is this true? It would mean that the Jeff is quite fuel efficient and can have quite long legs, despite being able to carry less internal fuel than other multi-role aircraft. Is the A2A refuel a pain? 3. What is your general in-cockpit feeling of the JF-17? By that I mean: - How are the controls? (I use a Thrustmaster FCS 16000m HOTAS) is the Jeff responsive, handles well? ( i heard it has only vertical FBW, but no horizontal one) - Are the HOTAS functions similar or easier/better organized than the F-16 Viper ones? - How does the canopy affect the view and influence the situational awareness in comparison to the bubble canopy of the Viper? My feeling is that the bubble canopy of the Viper is the better one, but the JF-17 glass cockpit displays make them much more visible than those in the Viper. Is my guess here correct? 4. How is the raw engine power of the JF-17? No slouch? Has a "kick" like the Viper does? Is the throttle lagging in a similar way as the Hornet does? 5. The JF-17 feels a bit like a DCS underdog. Its on no fancy posters but is starts to build a name for itself. And I gotta say i like to be an underdog, which the JF-17 seems to offer in a world where Western hardware simply seems to be everywhere... Sometimes I am a little tired of it and caught myself eying more and more the eastern toys. 6. How are the availalble SP campaigns? I ask since I mostly fly single player and like to have scenarios where i use what I have learned. 7. Any other things you thing are worth mentioning? F-16 Viper I will try to keep this one shorter, since I own the module and have... tried it out you can say. 1. My country flies those, so I am kind of slightly biased. It clicks with me, but I am not that much satisfied with the current development stage. However you might be able to change my mind and try it afterall. 2. I love the feeling of raw power in this thing, the engine can really kick and the way the Viper recovers energy is astounding. Is it something that will remain, or something that needs tweaking? (I take here into account that the F-16 is far from being fully complete) 3. I heard the G-Force modeling is a bit pale and is something that hinders the F-16 full potential, because right now it seems that the "pilot" inside the Viper has no resilience. As if he did not undergo training for the F-16. Is this true? 4. I have a feeling that the MFD are less readable than those in the JF-17. Is it true that the glass cockpit is easier to navigate that the one of the Viper? 5. Have not flown the Viper to much, so I have to ask, how is the fuel managment/consumption in comparison to the JF-17? I know the Viper can carry more fuel, but when fuel consumption rate is a factor, then lower fuel quantity does not have to be a hinderance. 6. Any other things worth mentioning to convince me? Summary Thanks for sticking so far with me and reading what I wrote. So now that you know what kind of experience/knowledge I have and what my general preference is, it boils down to the question of this topic. Should I get the JF-17 or stick to the helicopters and give the F-16 more time? I have read in the last news letter I think, that the Hornet is nearing completion and the focus will shift to the Viper. Bugfixing and new additions. But it will still take time and it might be a wise idea to wait. Many thanks for reading once again, and thank you in advance for the feedback. Fly safe

Any chance we could see improvements to the DCS JF-17 such as a functioning HMD and, I know this is asking for a lot but what about the off-bore sight PL-10E missile? I mean, Deka did make a JF-17 for DCS and no where does it say exactly which block it's meant to be. Sure some say it's block I with some block II features, but we do have a HMD button in the cockpit. I understand majority of block III is classified but maybe some features could make it in, such as HMD.

Hi all, Since I am a huge fan of the JAS-39 and JF-17 I've created a re-skin of the default JF-17 cockpit to look like the JAS-39. Grey consoles, metal bolts, a new ejection seat, new MFD colors to match those of the Gripen. I've also included new fonts and Hud graphics to push the transformation. These modifications need to be installed in the base install and in the saved game folder. Installation procedure : Download the zip file form the DCS User files Extract the ZIP to your desktop Put the Liveries folder (in the Saved Game folder) in your saved game folder (this location may vary depending on your install, but this is where you put your mods) **Optional** Beware that you will lose the original files so if you want to revert back Make copies Use the fix function Use software like OVGME Put the Mods folder (in the DCS folder) in your based folder (this location may vary, but this is where DCS is installed) overwrite the files Activate the JAS39 cockpit (customized cockpit option) in the special option menu in the main DCS screen. Enjoy

Before the update we had no problems with the laser. but now, when flying with Jf, the laser turns off after 5-10 minutes and does not turn on. Even when we get landing and replace the pod, the problem persists. and when we throw a point track, the missiles do not go to the laser, as if there is no laser. is this a problem or is it because of a novelty?

Hello, hope you are fine. I think there is something wrong with the JF 17 camera. Because the controllable missile sees the far range this way for some reason. it looks far away, but for some reason the destination remains the sea.

Hello! I am working on a fictional Egyptian Air force livery for the Jf-17 using the template I developed with Cookiemonster. it's partially inspired by the F-16s currently in service with the EAF, here's to hoping that we'll see this in real life soon™. I plan to follow this up with several more Egyptian schemes for most of the aircraft we have in dcs, if you have any recommendations please report in the comment below with a picture! here are some teaser screenshots: Best of luck! --Kerbo Edit: it has been approved for the user files link below: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3314085/

Dear All, My first time here and apologies if this bug has already been highlighted in the forum (I could not find the answer to this issue). I use a VR and a Hotas X56. As a preferable configuration, I use all of my radar commands from my Hotas (barely use my keyboard). During BVR or Ground attack mode, for Radar elevation I have used JOY_BTN 30 (for up) and JOY_BTN 31 (for down) - this is located around where you would have your left pinky finger on the throttle (https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3309548/). However, for some reason recently (whether on multiplayer or off-line) the radar elevation either keeps going up or down. I had this bug before on Multiplayer straight after I take off as I switched on the radar; I used to notice this straightaway. I then used to choose another slot (re-spawn) and for some reason it used to go away. However, now... even that is not working. (see attached image of the radar MFD that I am referring to - this is not the actual shot of the error; but just wanted to flag where I am noticing this bug). I then checked controls to see if there are any clashes on this - there is none! I really do not know where this bug is coming from - can anyone help? Thanks a lot TK

I was flying 1v1 with my friend on a dogfight server and noticed that 50% of the time it would not radar lock his F-16 even when he was right in front of me. Sometimes after like 6+ seconds of waiting it would get a lock, and then a few seconds later lose it even when he wasn't maneuvering or anything. Just randomly dropping lock. Do you guys know why this is? I'm not making any accusations that it's broken or anything, I just want to understand why it's not locking on when I feel like it should be. Even in bore sight mode when I know exactly where he is in a head-on it doesn't lock on until he is right about to pass me. Just seems off, maybe I'm doing something wrong. Anybody else understand what I'm talking about?

Any chance we could see the implementation of block 3 HMD for the JF-17? I see there is a button for HMD usage in the cockpit and I know block 1 and 2 doesn't have the functionality (yet), but if we see that block 3 with the Pakistani airforce or other airforces begin to use HMD on their JF-17's, will we see this functionality come to DCS? Thank you.

Dear moderators and developers, This bug occurred on PG map during a scrim. I was carrying 4 PL-5s + 2 tanks + 1 Jammer pod. I kept tracking one of the bandits with my radar on tws mode and PL5 seeker was slaved to look over it, however the distance was far for a lock or shot. after a while, the seeker symbology got stuck on the top left of hud. Screenshot: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1dCZrxBAnsIc_oVQblcr8Txj73Ie9ldl8/view?usp=sharing The PL-5s failed to lock even at dogfight distance (visible in track), but could be fired. Switching between different missiles didn't fix the issue. putting master arm back to safe (turning off missiles) didn't work, the buzzer kept buzzing in cockpit. Switching hud mode (to nav) didn't fix it. I failed to reproduce the bug. but the track file shows it well. Track file address: https://drive.google.com/file/d/12EGZzSJHF80ZymATfDejmnD616afITrQ/view?usp=sharing Log is attached. Sincerely, Rook dcs.log

I haven't seen it posted here so ill give it a try. I have seen sources state that the Block 1 has been able to use more variety of weapons than it currently has. For example: - MAR 1 Anti Radiation Missile - H-4 JSOW Which I think is a derivative of the South African MUPSOW (Which was put in SAAF Mirage F-1s and bought by Pakistan for their Mirages (See H-4 JSOW info)) - Hatf-VIII (Ra'ad) Air Launched Cruise Missile - AIM-9L/M and PL-9C and MAA-1 Piranha (As far as it understand that it CAN carry these weapons, and understand that Deka is basing their module off of what ever Pakistani Air Force decides to do with theirs) - CM-400AKG - Air To Ground Missile (Info on CM-400 in the link below) - LT-3 EO guided Bomb Random Question - Can the WMD-7 Lock on the Ground more than 20nm than it does in game? Its abit limiting. This is just a discussing, if there are laws in my School Presentation post, please dont rip me a new one, i just like the Jeff. H-4 JSOW info - "Three successful tests were conducted, the last one in 2003, which led to field deployment on the Dassault Mirage III and Mirage V strike fighters of the Pakistan Air Force. It has also been stated that the H-4 will be integrated with the PAF's new multi-role combat aircraft, the JF-17, which is replacing the ageing fleet of Mirage III and Dassault Mirage 5 aircraft. All Pakistani JF-17 fighters, from the initial JF-17 Block 1 model to the final Block 3 version, will be capable of launching the H-4." - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H-4_SOW Hatf-VIII (Ra'ad) info. The missile's latest version has a range of 600 km. The missile uses stealth technology, has a range of 350 km and is designed to carry conventional or nuclear warheads.
