  1. Can not get Mav-F to fire over 3 miles range from target. Target is locked/tracking, get in range que, still won't fire until 3mi or less, by then it's a kamikaze attack.
  2. Hey all, I am trying to align the Mavericks but it doesn't work. I am on the ground with a tank located on the other side of the runway. I have the F16 pointed at the tank and I am positioned at the opposite end of the runway. I set the Mavericks to PRE mode. I slew the TGP to the tank and TMS forward to lock the tank. I then slew the Maverick (which is not pointed towards the tank, it's off) and center it on the tank then TMS up. The Maverick locks the tank and BSGT appears and I click it. That should be it right? If I TMS aft on the Maverick to unlock the target, the Maverick slews back to being off again. Anyone have any luck with this? I have watch Wags video on aligning the Mavs but I can't get it to work.
  3. Sometimes in tws if I bug say 3 targets with tms right, I can cycle through them and everything but if I lose lock and they disappear off the radar, once they reappear, I can only bug one. I’ve tried it with tms up trying to bug them individually and with tms right to bug them all. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong?

I was doing some air to ground practice in a mission today and was maybe lets say being a bit "ham handed" & unsympathetic to the poor old jet, ( Piling on the G's in the turns when loaded ect) firstly I noticed that it was becoming somewhat unresponsive - I had to really be slow and steady with the controls. Carried out another dive bomb attack and when rolling out aquire the target,. the jet was all over the place...then there was bang and the wing came off!!!! When the jet first started feeling "not normal" 5 minutes previously, I did wonder if anything was wrong, but could see no cautions etc... So is it modelled that the jet can be damaged by insensitive handling in this situation? and why no warnings? I would have thought the FCS would step in etc and you would at least get some cautions etc? I have many hours in the jet and never had anything like this happen before so am curious ? Random failures is off as well..... Thanks
  5. Anyone's had the same issue ?? At the exactly same airfield , datalink works fine on a started F16 , but when I cold start another one , after I got everything done (things I think are needed to be done) , datalink still don't show up , no other planes on the display whatsoever .,.. I compared the buttons and settings on my plane and that of the started one , no difference , so what did I miss ???? That was so weird ...
  6. Hi, Question to DCS OpenBeta F16 module. I can't get AI wingman to listen to my commands at all. I know I'm using correct frequency on COM2 since he gives me mud spike calls and contact calls etc. 1. I have easy communications turned OFF. 2. I'm tuned into correct frequency (assumption since I can hear his calls) 3. I know I'm using VHF radio since when I use rctrl+\ and then choose a command, the VHF frequency get's highlighted on DED. Is it just broken in Open Beta (or maybe at all).? BTW. Other communication (ATC, tanker) works fine.

Today I decided to spend some time playing with TGP and JDAMs. Made a mission were I start in the air (if that's important), placed some practice target vehicles and added WPTs at the target's positions. As I switched to A/G and put TGP screen on I noticed some weird behaviour - the TGP camera was constantly drifiting slowly in one direction. It should initialy stay on a selected steerpoint, shouldn't it?. Only when I command TMS Up or RIght I get a lock and can start moving it around. After I push CZ the drift starts over again. Two more pieces of information: - deadzones on my RDR CRS are set correctly so that's not it, - during drift the TGP coordinates in top left don't change at all, as it was locked in one place all the time. I'm not puting this in the bug section yet because I haven't had a chance to play a lot with DCS lately so maybe I'm missing something.
  8. Very frustrating. Tried boresighting them in the air. I use targeting pod to lock something, then switch to maverick SOI and lock the wrong thing, hit TMS aft to break lock and it sends targeting pod back to steerpoint even though thats not SOI. Tried multiple times same issues of targeting pod reacting while maverick is SOI. Tried boresighting on the ground, went better, seems to have worked. Get in the air, use targeting pod to lock up target but maverick is doing its own thing looking off into the wild blue yonder. No auto handoff. Not even attempting to look where the targeting pod is. Go back to targeting pod to try new target and it keeps switching back to maverick SOI every time I hit TMS fwd or aft. So I make targeting pod SOI, hit TMS fwd or aft and it immediately says “Not SOI”. Eventually just nose dived it into the enemy convoy and still missed everything
  9. Hi all, I've been exploring the world of dumb bombs lately and have experienced something I'm definitely not understanding. I load up on Mk series bombs and with CCIP I'm deadly, but in AUTO mode I'm awful! I setup a simple mission to bomb an enemy plane sitting on the runway, I place a waypoint directly on the plane. I enter the mission and do what I've seen Wags and other Mk82 demo vids do: Stores... Select Mk82 Mode = AUTO MFUZ = nose UFC Qty = 8 INT = 100 WPDSG on A/G on At this point everything looks great. I get the target on the plane and all goes as expected on approach. Like I saw in the demo vids, I go ATC at around 450kn and level off at 5,000ft. Hold Release when the countdown gets to 5 seconds and bombs away. I just studied a replay and noticed the issue is the AUTO countdown hits 0 when I'm directly over the waypt so obviously the bombs are way past target. Am I doing something wrong that's making the targeting computer think that the designated waypoint is not the target but the release point? Thanks!
  10. Has anyone else noticed this behaviour from the Lightning pod? Sometimes when turn into a target, the t-pod loses lock and wobbles off to one side as I roll back to wings level. It then stabilises on the wrong piece of real estate and I have to re-aquire the target before I can make it go boom. Is this correct? It seemed to arrive with 2.7 Cheers, Morat
  11. This never used to happen before the previous update and I'm not sure if this is a new "feature" or an actual bug. The video shows me setting up my radar to lock a target and then when I go to AA mode the radar resets and I have to re-set up and re-lock the target. This happens no matter if I use the AA button or my binding on my HOTAS. For reference I'm using the X-56. Is this a known issue? Here is the video I'm describing:
  12. Well see title. The hornet has much bigger scan area in this mode but locks instantly. Is F16 correct ? I would not think because said tiny scan area.
  13. I just dusted off the TGP as I have never used it. Watched a couple of tutorials followed instructions and bingo... bombs don't release? No idea why - I am aware that there are possibly numerous reasons so I have included a few screen shots.
  14. As soon as my main landing gear touches down, nose of the plane slams to the runway less than a second. So it doesn't give me a chance to keep my nose up. I know I am not perfect at landings but at least I could do flares if I didin't cause tail strike already. Has something changed?
  15. Next problem... Screenshot 1 shows where the bombs actually hit Screenshot 2 shows target designator area lock I have repeated this process 5 times - every time they impact a long way from the target and yes, I am lasing.
  16. Hi, Im having some issues with the target pod, i have set up a simple mission for practice with mavericks. A few trucks and bmps take out the two bmp with maverick D version and trucks with gun On my way to the target i boresight mavericks and use auto pre mode. But after my last maverick is fired the target pod gets stuck and i cant move it no matter what i do? I have to power of the station to reset the whole pod, the good old *swedish button* if it dont work turn it off and on again. Is there a better and faster way to do this? even if i reset pod back to steerpoint i cant move it. thanks.

Hey folks, just want some help on the following problem: Situation: - village (STP 5) with an enemy tank that is being constantly lased by a Reaper drone Problem: I put the TGP in LSS mode and the target is aquired. But when I try pressing TMS UP or RIGHT I can't enter Point track or Area track. Additionally the SPI stays on STP5 and not the tank, so it's messing up the CCRP drop. In the Hornet however you can stay in LSS mode and move the SPI by pressing TDC DEPRESS. Workaround: After aquiring the target via LSS you have to exit LSS and track the target via POINT or AREA track. This can't be the way it should be working, right? I mean it's the same pod as in the Hornet and yet the Viper has to exit LSS to get a valid CCRP solution? Any help or input is appreciated. Regards, Kappi
  18. I'm not sure why my GBU38 sometimes misses targets. I suppose the altitude where I drop the bomb accounts? Or is it because of a specific map? I miss a lot in Persian Gulf but elsewhere is ok. Does anyone know why this keeps happening? Thanks.
  19. Hi, I just updated to the 2.7 stable, clouds look great now in VR. However, I just noticed today that when I fire HARMs in HAS mode, they loft like crazy and head off in some seemingly random direction, even though they were locked to a target that is clearly active in RWR. I shot 8 HARMS at different targets with the same result. Has anyone experienced this? It was working before the update. Also, this was online. POS mode seemed to work fine.
  20. i go back and forth between F16, F18, and A-10C II. i could very well be doing something wrong. recently in a hot start sandbox mission from user files, i started in parking. i rearmed with different loadout to include gbu-12s. when i using them, i was unable to hit any of the three targets i tried. question is, do i need to do anything after the reload to get the pod and the bomb to sync. i have been successful with the gbu many times and my problem seems to have just started. have checked everything i can think of. thanks.
  21. Hello fellow flight simmers, Since the last update I've had many instances of the viper FCR dropping lock while in SAM mode post-shot. It happens when I'm in the crank (bandit 50 degrees off my nose). Of course, because this happens well before A-pole, the missile goes stupid and lofts into space. I've set the AI bandits to not use Chaff/ Flare (and they aren't) -- so that's not a part of it. STT has worked great and maintains lock on shots taken between Raero and Rpi (around 40nm in my scenarios). Has anyone else had this issue? I'd love to hear about it if you have -- and then I'll compile some short tracks and post a bug report -- a quick search of the bug reports hasn't mentioned issues with SAM mode since early July.   22. After I drop the tanks, the right MFD screen swaps to show that, but I can't figure out how to set it how it was before I drop the tanks. After the drop, I can no longer switch between A/A A/G or Nav anymore. I must be doing something dumb or there's a helpful action I don't have mapped.
  23. So I get the target on my panel, I have master arm on, AA, AMRAM selected, move the slew over, but can't lock on it.
  24. I find that when I engage the autopilot, e.g. attitude hold and steering select, it will not keep to the current SP and will start loosing altitude. I verified all autopilot switches are set properly adn no warnings. Speed was ~360knots. It does not happen all the time but lately most of the time it simply won't work for me. Any limitations to the autopilot?
