Flaming Cliffs 2 Essential Must Have Mods

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

For the new purchasers who want to get up and running with the best mods (IMO) that are working on FC2 so far.

Installed in this order:

Modman 7.2: http://www.lockonfiles.com/modules.php? ... #dldetails

Ancient Airbase Textures: http://www.lockonfiles.com/modules.php? ... #dldetails

Shimmering Coastline Fix: http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=37888&d=1270944025

A10, Su-27, F-15, Tower combined Mod: http://www.lockonfiles.com/modules.php? ... #dldetails

Ricardos Russian HD Cockpits (AWESOME): http://lockonfiles.com/modules.php?name ... #dldetails

No Canopy Scratches (optional): http://www.lockonfiles.com/modules.php? ... #dldetails

6DOF mod + A10 mod fix: http://www.lockonfiles.com/modules.php? ... id=269#cat

Is there any other good ones that you guys have managed to bring over from DCS and FC1?

Cheers

Taipan

UPDATE:

I've removed these two from the list as the new DCS terrain satisfies most as it is already:

SIMMOD LoReload Terrain Mod (summer): http://www.lockonfiles.com/modules.php? ... #dldetails

Ruggbutts Enhanced Terrain Mod (other seasons): http://www.lockonfiles.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownloaddetails&cid=239&lid=1258&ttitle=DCS-BS_Enhanced_Terrain_Mod_v1.02#dldetails

I'm using the following:

- no cloud shadow mod to get rid of the flickering on the horizon

- Cloud mod 1.0 for fluffier clouds

What's the deal with the LoReload terrain mod?

Intel 11900K/NVIDIA RTX 3090/32GB DDR4 3666/Z590 Asus Maximus motherboard/2TB Samsung EVO Pro/55" LG C9 120Hz @ 4K/Windows 10/Jotunheim Schiit external headphone amp/Virpil HOTAS + MFG Crosswind pedals

LoReload terrain mod gives you a more detailed terrain. This is the "summer" terrain.

I've now updated the links to include the other mod that covers the other 3 seasons.

With the terrain mods- be careful with your graphics.cfg file. Back it up before and check it afterwards.

If they are modman packs it should have added 8 terrain files to the list near the top, plus another one for the airbase textures if you install that too.

terrain textures in FC2 are fine already, you don't need any terrain mods at all. Also don't know why some claim shimmernig coastline... I don't have that problem with stock game

Download this pod model for Russian ground attack aircraft.

Go from this horrible old pod:

To this fully 3D one!

Also the UB13 122mm rocket pod (as seen on Right)

With those rockets pods they look nice up close, but as you look further out and zoomed in the model is see-through (rockets pertrude thruogh canister shape) and doesn't look that good any more

No longer active in DCS...

I haven't noticed that Kuky, I will check it out.

Edit: The Rocket pods seem to be working fine for me, still visible at any range.

Maybe you have altered your LOD setting to be too harsh?

I did the before and after comparisons using blackshark. As long as fc2 uses the same default terrain as black shark then I did notice a difference especially for the winter snow missions.

Is ruggbutt on the forum? I think he packaged it. Mods never seem to have much of a readme.

Leave it as it is Jessi. Ricardos mod is modman compatible and you don't have to install it manually.

how about a single pack for people that don't have the time to trouble with all the "dangers" of moding xml files etc?

[sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

I5 4670k, 32GB, GTX 1070, Thrustmaster TFRP, G940 Throttle extremely modded with Bodnar 0836X and Bu0836A,
