luckybob9
Would be interesting to have some guidance for the first steps in creating a new scenario. Besides 3dmax 2008, we need some tools? The plugins and 3ds max 2008 are required for everything. However, to make make the terrain you will need another program to accurately import terrain into 3ds max. (although i suppose you can create your own fictional terrain). I believe we used global mapper when making the Nellis terrain Nevada map contributer EDM Modeling tools FAQ: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1418067&postcount=1 Seo libh a chairde is chanadh liom. joey45
how easy would it be for tools for 3ds max 9? What is the differance in software in 08 and 09? The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. luckybob9
how easy would it be for tools for 3ds max 9? What is the differance in software in 08 and 09? At this time there are no tools/ plugins for 3ds max 9. The difference between 2008 and 2009 are probably some new features although I cannot say for certain. Please see the three links at the bottom of this link: http://en.wiki.eagle.ru/wiki/All_about_land I have max9 and Max8 should it work on 8 ? From my knowledge, it only works in max 2008. However feel free to try it in max8 and see what happens. I'm not talking about the scenery tools exclusively, but about stuff that is needed, for example, to make addon aircraft. As of right now, only the terrain tools have been publicly released. Yes i have to get it np.. Using Max for terrain building is not very well thought.. alas but at list we have something.. you dont necessarily use max to create the terrain from scratch. From my understanding, you use another program that accurately has mapped terrain and you can save it as a certain type of image format in grayscale. When you import this into max, the different shades of gray represent different height and thus your terrain is automatically generated. Thanks Lucky bob yeas i will actually try ;) Just a heads up, when i installed the plugins, my ability to export in the .lom format stopped working. To solve this, i just made a copy my max8 folder, changed the .ini file so it would use the files in the new directory, and now I can easily use two instances of max. One for loms and another for the terrain tools. Nevada map contributer EDM Modeling tools FAQ: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1418067&postcount=1 Seo libh a chairde is chanadh liom.
